  1. I'll have to ask her! My son and I are going to the Sweet Sixteen games in Philly, was hoping to see IU and then PU-UK in the other game.
  2. Colgate didn't take free throw until 14:45 in the 2nd half.
  3. Nice! We're PA, the kid is #4. His mom was my 8th grade French teacher over 25+ years ago 🤣
  4. Would love it! A kid from my high school starts for them.
  5. The announcers were slobbering all over Curbelo during our BTT game. Makes no sense.
  6. Good thing the TruTV crew got that Coach Cal/UK spotlight in on Tuesday night.
  7. I'm sure Gabe Cupps is firing up his decommit tweet as we speak.
  8. We're talking about a specific situation though. It was a time to have ball handlers in the game and Galloway, despite his play last night, is one of our best ball handlers. The goal in the moment was to have guys you trust that won't turn it over and you trust to make smart decisions. I'm my experience, especially in terms of situational play like that, coaches don't typically overreact to poor play in others areas in a specific game.
  9. I don’t think anyone has said he played well. The point is, a coach typically isn't going to keep a player on the bench that is having a poor game in other areas when the coach needs his skill set for a specific situation. Coaches typically play the guys they trust, even if they're having an off night. Galloway's poor play doesn't mean he isn't a trustworthy ball handler and that he shouldn't have entered the game in that situation.
  10. I think you nailed it with your last paragraph there about trust. I think as fans we overestimate in game performance from a specific game and underestimate how coaches view that in terms of trust. What I mean is, Woodson needed a ball handler and he trusts Galloway. When he looks down the bench for a ball handler, he's not thinking about two bad fouls and a couple missed shots earlier, he's thinking about who he trusts to be in the right spot in the press break and not make a dumb turnover in that situation and Galloway is a guy he trusts.
  11. By no means saying XJ was great last night or even good, and we definitely need him to play more like the previous few weeks to beat St. Mary's and advance. But with that said, if terrible is 7 assists and just 2 turnovers with solid defense, that's not so bad. The shooting hurts and we definitely need that to be better as well as some of the shot selection, but he did settle down and made some big plays late (oop to TJD, pass to Geronimo when he pushed the ball late that got us a bucket, etc.) I also think some of XJ's poor decisions were due to playing in a phone booth on the PnR. Wyoming was clogging the lane big time and due to PS and MK offering nothing offensively, XJ had to create in very tight quarters.
  12. Sounds like that was the lineup (XJ, TG, PS, MK, TJD), so not sure what we're even talking about or why there would be any issue in having Galloway in the game there? You've got ball handlers (XJ and TG), free throw shooters (XJ and Kopp) and guys you trust (really all 5 of them).
  13. Committing two bad fouls has nothing to do with being a good ball handler in breaking the press. We needed ball handlers, and despite two bad fouls Galloway is a player that can handle the ball (much better then Kopp or Stewart) and the coaching staff trusts.
  14. I'm super concerned for our energy and stamina for this game. These travel issues are not a small thing. I don't know about you all, but I've taken red eyes before and was a complete mess the next day.
  15. In that situation the top concern is to not have a live ball turnover. Free throws are absolutely important, but second to not turning it over. Galloway needed to be in there so that XJ wasn't on an island against the press. Though I'm pretty sure Galloway came in for Geronimo, not Stewart, which was the right move.
  16. Dominant defensive performance! TJD was phenomenal, Geronimo was huge and XJ with 7 assists and just 2 turnovers. Stewart also played great D on Maldonado! Just awesome to get a tournament win!
  17. Not going to win with XJ and Race going 3 for 14. This game will be decided by who comes alive in the 2nd half. Maldonado and Ike or XJ and Race. Tough to only be up 5 with Maldonado having 7 turnovers.
  18. The last time somebody from IU made a shot outside the paint...
  19. Wow though, JG cannot defend on the perimeter.
  20. Just watched the pregame show. It's going to be hard to stop Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Magic, Larry and Shaq!
  21. You'd think IU was playing against the MJ Bulls the way this crew is breaking this game down.
  22. So stupid! NBA teams rarely worry about this. Heck, Brooklyn and Philly just swapped stars in their own division. I understand making the playoffs is different between the NBA and the NFL, but who cares if he's going in division? You need to trade him, so go get the best possible package. If the Colts offer the best package with the most assets, you're going to take a lesser offer? Just stupid.
  23. Will be interesting to see if Archie gets back in the game this cycle, and if so at what level?
