  1. “…and all NIL money goes to the library fund!”
  2. I hope they're left with individual synchronized gymnastics until someone finally pulls the life support. It's amazing that the idiots running the place destroyed an iconic brand that had a near monopoly. Of course it's under the same management umbrella that ruined the Star Wars franchise and has badly wounded Toy Story/Pixar. Marvel will be next to fall. I don't think you could randomly pick 10 people out of the phone book who could mismanage those brands to this extent. Unfortunately, the moron running Disney is an IU grad. Thankfully he's a biology major so he doesn't taint the reputation of Kelley SoB. Former Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger was behind many of the biggest moves of the media company of the last two decades with acquisitions of Pixar, Marvel, Fox and Lucasfilm. Although, one of the biggest moves made that Iger regrets is the decision to name current Disney CEO Bob Chapek as his successor. According to a new report from Business Insider, Iger regrets naming Chapek as his successor as CEO of Disney and called it one of his worst business decisions ever. Now looking back, Iger said he would have never stepped down if he knew how bad the pandemic would be, according to a former Disney executive. The executive said Iger believes Chapek is arrogant and uninterested in other people’s opinions. Disney recently renewed Chapek as CEO for two additional years, a decision that was surprising to many Disney fans and shareholders, given the disappointing results for Disney shareholders. https://www.benzinga.com/news/22/07/28093776/bob-iger-regrets-hiring-bob-chapek-as-disney-ceo-successor-calls-it-one-of-his-worst-business-decisi
  3. Wonder if Under Armour is stepping up for NIL deals for these MD commits?
  4. Department of Motor Vehicles? You tracking their car registrations? 😀
  5. It's tough to hold a wedding ceremony when she has a restraining order.
  6. One of the big problems is a lack of balanced 3 pt shooting. We never spread out a defense from the perimeter. In the Rutgers game, X was 2-4, but Phin 0-2, Kopp 1-5 and Stewart 2-9. Kopp and Stewart had numerous open looks in the second half of a game IU lost by 3, but couldn't deliver. Against OSU, Stewart was 3-4, but X was 0-3, Bates was 1-4 and Kopp was 1-5. At PU, Kopp was 4-6, but RT was 1-4, Stewart and Phin were 0-2 and X was 0-4. There was no consistency and we never seemed to have more than one player shooting well. It's so frustrating seeing TJD kick out to wide open shooters for multiple misses. You could see it deflate TJD and the whole team at times. IU had only 3 players out of their first 7 in minutes played who shot over 30% from three. Compare that to MI. Of the top 6 players in minutes played, all but Diabate shot 33% or better from 3. If you gamble on defense or they make an extra pass or two they always seemed to have an open three, with at least a 1 in 3 chance of a make. That's how they could really get on some runs. Same with IA. 5 of their top 6 players were 32% or better. On and on. We can only hope for a more balanced attack this year.
  7. Really hope you’re right. Just hate to think of TJD playing 4 years without putting shooters around him.
  8. The final four teams ranked 41st to 65th in 3 pt shooting. They averaged 35.8% to 36.6%. IU was 216th and averaged 33.3%. For a team to increase its perimeter shooting 2.5 to 3.3% would be a big jump, especially without adding any shooters. The biggest issue is that IU was 311th in D1 in made three pointers per game. That means a lot of close, grind it out games, with a lot of pressure on the defense. We've seen too many games where a game has been close, or IU had a lead (but one that should have been larger), and then one guy on the other team starts throwing in clutch or even garbage 3s late. I hope I'm wrong and this team materially improves its perimeter shooting or can somehow compensate. It's just a glaring weakness, especially with how the game is played today.
  9. Not really a surprise. Their 3 pt % was 2nd and 3rd behind Stewart last year. This doesn't make me optimistic, though. Kopp has always been a streaky shooter and X's shot mechanics aren't good. He may be putting up a lot of reps, but I doubt that he completely remade his shooting motion. Just have a bad feeling that this team won't meet expectations due to poor perimeter shooting again. This team desperately needed a Zeisloft or Alfonso Plummer type pickup from the transfer portal and didn't get one.
  10. They settled. UA paid UCLA $67.5M to terminate the deal. https://www.sportingnews.com/us/ncaa-football/news/under-armour-lawsuit-ucla-675m-settlement/snzvz8nnyecu89pbf2tdbpip
  11. “so like almost a blue blood” Ouch. Don’t blame the kid, though. Other than one year, we haven’t really been relevant in his lifetime.
  12. Yeah, I never get bored. It helped moving to a climate where I can be outside nearly every day of the year. It seems like the weeks just fly by.
  13. I was 59. I had already decided by late 2019 that I would retire in June 2020. Then COVID hit and made the decision even easier. We moved from Indiana to sunny FL. Best decision we ever made.
  14. Didn't know if this should be posted here or the comedy thread. I really have no words. The owner of a woodworking supplies company said the city of Noblesville gave up on a $ 5.5 million development deal because it wouldn’t close an adult children’s store it also owns. When the city found out it owned My Inner Baby, a store that sells adult diapers and other adult baby clothes, it turned down the WoodTurningz deal because it “doesn’t meet the morals of the city,” Polokoff said. https://trendeepro.com/noblesville-killed-a-5-5-million-development-deal-because-of-the-adult-kids-shop/
  15. I did that. I retired early from my real job two years ago. For the past year I've been working about 20 hours per week in a fishing tackle store about 5 minutes from my house. Have learned a lot (mostly about saltwater fishing), get a decent employee discount and it gets me out around people (for better or worse). I maxed out my Roth IRA last year and will do the same this year.
  16. Every player on their roster. They're "positionless" 😀
  17. Reading between the lines, Doyle was friends with DD and defended him to others that DD wasn’t really like his on-air persona, but now that DD is a contributor to Outkick he’s irredeemable. I’m no fan of DD, but this column is more about Doyle than DD.
