DePaul leading Xavier 49-40 at half, following their upset of Seton Hall. Amazing how some teams that have had a terrible year can get hot in a conference tourney. -

Rarely has less been done with so much

I was thinking more of when IU would play them, but I wouldn't rule out a MN upset (not predicting that, though).

MD 4-10 away from home

The SimpliSafe spokesperson?

He looks good by comparison. Like the guy who drives the getaway car.

Right. Their only four losses were quad 1 true road games -

Watching Oral Roberts and N Dakota St. ORU has a 7’5 player, Vanover. Looks like he weighs about 190, but he can shoot. ORU is 29-4 (18-0 in Summit League. -
I think the best comparison would be Shaq in college. His only move in college was a shoulder to the opponents chest, driving him under the basket. Edey is a better FT shooter, though.

Yeah for sure, eh? Puttin on the foil!

Could make a great case for either Collins or Painter. However, NW was picked last and had lost Ryan Young and Pete Nance to Duke and UNC. They were supposed to be putrid. Collins was almost fired at the end of last season. No one imagined this. Purdue was very surprising, but NW was beyond shocking.

How will they factor in our tie at Northwestern?

I’d love to see the Fighting Alfords roll over Rutgers in the First Four -
From NBA draft scouting report: At this size, Edey will instantly in the running for the heaviest player in the NBA when he makes the jump to that level. While he has good touch around the rim and is even a good positional free throw shooter, Edey is not a perimeter scorer at all. As a center 20 years ago, he’d be the perfect prospect. However, in the modern NBA he feels like more of a situational bit off the bench. Defensively, Edey is a quality shot blocker but is very slow due to his size. He doesn’t have the quickness to stay in front of guards or wings, so he relies on his strength and size to alter shots. Overall, he’s worth a team taking him in the second round. While it may seem like he doesn’t have much more room to expand his game, Edey didn’t actually play basketball until his sophomore year of high school. He’s still learning, and the improvement just over the past few years is impressive.

I just think with the minutes that TJD and JHS have to play and Race’s creaky knee, playing three games in three days won’t be helpful
-
Not saying it should be the approach from the coaching staff or players. They should try to win every game. Just being pragmatic.

If a team is a lock for the NCAAT, the two best scenarios are either win the BTT (only for the players’ legacy) or lose the first game. Anything in between is bad. Losing the championship game is worst possible scenario.

Maybe because Purdue’s guards can’t shoot?
-
Yeah, they are really on the ropes. If they lose the first game of BTT it may very well be NIT
