  1. I will be pleasantly surprised if XJ gives us anything meaningful this season. I hope for him that he gets to dress and make an appearance(s) at the end of his IU career. His best asset is his quickness. I’ll be shocked if he comes back with the same quickness right away. He’s also had a tendency to be a slow starter, so the later his return, the less likely he’ll be a major factor. Hope he proves me wrong.
  2. When I was in high school, I rode to school with a friend who had a Pinto. Every time it rained, he had to pull the spark plugs and dry off the condensation before it would start. Another friend had a Gremlin. One time we went over a railroad track and the rear window popped out of the hatch and shattered on the street. They were fine 70s American cars.
  3. Very frustrating and disappointing game. Officiating was bad, but it’s almost always bad. We still shot more FTs, even with missing the front of one and ones. Just too many unforced TOs. That pass off the backboard with a chance to tie was just awful. We sailed several out of bounds at key times. NW played poorly in the second half - taking quick, bad fallaways. Credit to the Hoosiers for the effort in the comeback, but just too careless with the ball to pull out the win.
  4. Good for Shaka: "If we can bring in a transfer that makes sense for us that we think is a cultural fit for us, and he really wants to be at Marquette and be part of something bigger than himself, great. Let's do that," Smart said. "But if some guys try to come in here for a straight transaction, what can you do for me? What can I do for you? Yeah, we're good." "We made the decision: Hell no, we ain't doing that," Smart told CBS Sports. "First of all, it's illegal, but we're not prioritizing some guy that hasn't worn a uniform over Tyler Kolek and Oso Ighodaro."
  5. Next 5 games are against teams projected to be in NCAAT
  6. I’d like for the Hoosiers to take full credit, but MD exposed them in the second half of their first game, so PU should be very concerned about Thurs in College Park.
  7. Right. Pressure guards into TOs and deny post passes, but as you say, stick to shooters.
  8. OSU is 4-21 shooting and have attempted 14 threes
  9. It seems like in those games against the Fab 5, Howard would score at will in the first half and MI would lead. Then Rose and Weber would have to get theirs and Howard wouldn’t see the ball in the second half.
  10. Totally different players, but TJD is putting together a run in the Glen Rice/Kemba Walker category as far as carrying teams
  11. I wonder how many CBB teams have won a game this season with 6 three point attempts
  12. Against Edey, Omoruyi and Dickinson in three straight games
  13. Great gritty win. We missed a lot of opportunities to open it up, but really clamped down on defense. Trayce was absolutely gassed at the end. It’s a B1G road win and we’re all alone in 2nd. Can’t ask for more.
  14. They were just NIL deals with Fanduel that they forgot to disclose.
  15. Three transfers, 5 freshmen (including the starting backcourt), Sueing missed all last year and Key has been playing with injuries. That’s a lot to fit together.
  16. Agree. They have been competitive, they just clearly have some chemistry issues. Four of their first six rotation players are new this year and it just hasn't meshed well. Still all of their B1G losses, except to IU, have been by single digits. They aren't getting blown out.
