  1. Jerry Palm has IU, Rutgers and IL as 6 seeds. Has OSU, NW and MD in first 4 out. PSU last 4 in. https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/bracketology/
  2. Do I get any credit for a post about NW three hours ago, that got one like and no responses?
  3. Because PU played in "an incredible spectacle" against MSU, while we just pulled away in the second half to win by 13.
  4. Will be interesting to see what happens with NW. After an extended Covid pause, they now begin a stretch of 5 games in 10 days and 6 over 13 days
  5. He was 11-13 today on FTs and is 16 of last 19. That’s a guy who can develop a mid range shot
  6. Teams have the book on them now. The back half of the B1G schedule will be a lot tougher
  7. TJD is a man possessed. National player of the week. Has to be getting the attention of NBA GMs. The quickness and great hands. Some teams have to believe they can work with that. Three straight double-digit wins over WI, IL & MSU. Has to be a long time since that happened. Keep it rolling. We’re back in the hunt
  8. No question the competitive balance is better in the NFL. I don’t like the fact that a few teams dominate college ball. And no question the talent level is better in the NFL. But, to me, the average CFB game is more entertaining to watch than the average NFL game
  9. Too late. NIL has already ruined college recruiting. I used to be a big NFL fan, but the games just aren’t as interesting. College football tends to be better, except the games last 12 hours
  10. No I didn’t. Read IUFLA’s post that I responded to
  11. I don’t think fans had anything to do with it
  12. A couple obvious things. We pressured the perimeter and made it much more difficult for the opponents to run their offense. The IL game looked like the UNC game in that regard. They stopped over helping which led to wide open shooters
  13. DeCoursey said it’s almost beyond explanation that the same core group of players who allowed 90ppg over three games put in the defensive performances against WI and IL just a few days later
  14. Hoosiers jumped from 32 to 23 in NET. IL fell from 23 to 32. Swapped spots. Road wins are huge with the NET as are home losses. IU has the third highest NET ranking in the B1G after PU and Rutgers.
  15. Yeah, Gallo was especially bad about picking up his dribble in the corner as soon as he crossed half court.
  16. I really like this one: Like many of you, the lack of double teaming or even trying a few hard fouls on TJ-D was beyond belief. I seem to recall when Kofi was unstoppable one-on-one, our opponents would triple team him and hack him to death. EVERY OPPONENT. Yes TJ-D is a top flight passer and free throw shooter, but it is possible to rattle him. Even him. Time and again TJ-D would spin by Dain and everybody else, ESPECIALLY Hawkins, would back off like they were afraid of getting electrocuted by Trayce's super powers. Bad coaching (no adjustment) and soft (apparently impossible to embarrass or piss off) players on the court.
  17. It was great when Jason Benetti asked Bardo what Illinois should be doing against TJD: Bardo "SOMEthing different"
  18. TJD, with honorable mention to Brad Underwood
  19. Great win. Tremendous defensive effort. TJD was playing the game with a joystick. He’s looked healthy the past two games. Starting to see some chemistry with Geronimo. Game slowing down for JHS. Hope the wrist is OK. This win puts us back in the hunt. Need to hold serve on Sunday. No way Izzo lets the game be that easy for TJD, but MSU doesn’t have their typical inside game. We’ll need more than 3-9 from three, though. Need to work on the press, not dribbling into traffic and reduce the fouls. MSU won’t shoot 9-23 on FTs (shocking stat)
  20. The Hoosiers are going to have to win an upset on the road to offset the home loss to NW. Lose tonight and it will be really tough to climb into the upper half of the B1G. It won’t help to just win the games that the teams ahead will also likely win.
