  1. When I was at IU, the only time anyone went to Illinois was to buy pure grain alcohol for a hairy buffalo party. It was always the guy with the fastest car.
  2. Illinois is on the top of someone’s vacation list?
  3. Probably, but the challenge will be building a tournament resume in a weak conference. 8 B1G teams are 40+ in the NET. Losses to those teams, home or away, will be punitive. We already have losses to two - NW & PSU. WI is #65, NE #88. Those home wins were critical only because losses would be fatal, but they don’t move the needle. We’ll need to get multiple road wins and hold serve at home. We are 1-5 in quad 1 games, with only 3 future home games currently being quad 1 (PU, IL, OSU). OSU not likely to stay there. We could be playing at MI (currently #75) as a quad 2 game!
  4. 10-10 probably won’t get in. Road wins will be critical
  5. Somehow OSU is 24 in NET. They are on track to lose their 5th straight at NE. Only quality win was home against Rutgers in a game they really lost
  6. ILL only loss at home against PSU. IU 1-4 on the road, with only win at Xavier with full roster.
  7. Beat me to it. WI is full of “ice holes”
  8. It’s all a fraud. Just a way for the athletic department to skirt the rules.
  9. Hope they lose them all. We need four teams to finish behind us, so we don’t play the first day of BTT. We already have losses to three of the four teams immediately ahead of us, so it will be a slog to climb up, without tiebreakers currently in our favor
  10. I used to work with an Illinois grad who always said, “the real Assembly Hall”. As annoying as that was, it may have been his most favorable personality trait.
  11. Right, but if this is accurate, it would directly violate NCAA NIL rules. Not that anyone would enforce it. Rashada’s commitment to the Gators was contingent on a four-year, $13 million NIL deal he signed with the Gator Collective, according to The Associated Press.
  12. True, but it also sounds like the Collective may have written a check it couldn’t cash
  13. Florida QB recruit asks out of LOI after Gator Collective backs out of NIL deal. Rashada’s commitment to the Gators was contingent on a four-year, $13 million NIL deal he signed with the Gator Collective, according to The Associated Press. The Gator Collective is a "fan club that connects athletes with fans while allowing the athletes to earn compensation for their name, image, and likeness." On Dec. 7, Rashada reportedly received a letter from the head of the Gator Collective wishing to terminate the deal, catching the Florida football program off guard. https://www.foxnews.com/sports/top-florida-recruit-requests-release-from-letter-intent-after-massive-nil-deal-falls-through-report
  14. Anderson - 4*, #119. Heavily recruited by PU. Offer from MI Phinisee - 4*, #131. Heavily recruited by PU. Offers from OSU & VA Hunter - 4*, #59. Offers from OSU, IL, Rutgers, etc Lander - 5*, #27. Offers from KS, MI, OSU, LVille, IA, PU, IL Durr and Stewart were both transfers to fill a need Nothing wrong with the talent on this list. Rob and Hunter both had injuries that seemed to derail their abilities and their confidence. Lander is more interested in being a fashion influencer than a bball player. Should never have reclassified. Never figured out Anderson. He was a knock down perimeter shooter in HS, who had a really awkward looking shot. Seemed lost in both offense and defense.
  15. QB Jake Garcia (Miami) enters transfer portal. Former top 10 QB recruit https://amp.miamiherald.com/sports/college/acc/university-of-miami/article271295137.html
  16. It’s easy to defend someone standing in the corner. Why would they leave him?
  17. That would rank with trading up to draft Jeff George
