  1. wait... did we ask 3 times THIS time? 5Fouls made it pretty clear that should be the plan! @5fouls?
  2. this... just because you question something a coach does here and there does not mean you're a bad fan or that you don't support them.
  3. i have not watched Johnson, but aren't they much different players? seems like they would have been very good compliments.
  4. i think it is a shame because we were clearly a terrible shooting team and he was our best 3 point shooter. at this point, a lineup of Johnson, Franklin, Stewart, Thompson or Hunter, TJD would seem a solid upgrade over last season. not to mention better depth with Brunk and maybe even Duncomb making sure Thompson and Hunter don't have to play out of position. that said, all of that is still true other than Franklin, but i do think that's a fairly big deal. i guess i would think Hunter would slide into that position. shooting doesn't seem greatly improved though when you think about Franklin shooting a better 3 point % than Stewart and Johnson not shooting the 3 at a high %.
  5. this seems so off to me. of course you never know, but guaranteeing someone to start just completely takes power of motivation away from a coach. i think it seems so weird for a college coach to say, "Come to VA and I promise you will start. If you stay at IU, nothing is guaranteed." i can't imagine that he was so worried he wouldn't start at IU that he transferred to VA. is it just me or does that seem weird?
  6. whatever man. i actually just got a PM from another member telling me they never block people, but had to block you for that exact reason. you are absolute in your opinion and there can be no doubt. that's fine. believe you are right. FWIW i think you are right this time. Stewart is the likely starter. i just thought it was a little strong on your part. i shouldn't have questioned you. this seems a dumb argument to me. i'm conceding. you are right! Stewart will 100% start.
  7. i agree. just saying it is a little strong to say it is 100% guaranteed. sorry guys. not really looking to argue. just seemed a little strong. that's all. i guess if it is an absolute 100% certainty, cool.
  8. sorry. i meant can Brooks play the 3? i have never seen Brooks play. looking at his 3 point % i would think that would be rough alongside Thompson, but as i said, i am a fan of putting my 5 best players on the floor regardless of position. i'm not as big of a fan of Hunter as most people and i want to see what Stewart brings. sorry, i definitely don't see Race as a wing.
  9. sorry it took me a while to get back to you. my only thought was that it is a little over the top to declare that you are 100% certain Stewart will start with a new team, new coach, etc. i guess if you are the end all be all authority, that's fine.
  10. sorry if i miscommunicated, but definitely don't think there's any way Thompson can play a minute at the 3. not sure where that came from. i guess my coaching resume isn't as solid as all of you bball geniuses, but i definitely didn't say that.
  11. definitely think you're right here, but i think we all agree that A. TJD needs to play big minutes and B. Brunk and TJD shouldn't be on the floor together. easy answer for me... TJD plays 30-32 minutes a game and Brunk plays 8-10 minutes a game.
  12. i hope so. i would love to see us play fast on misses and makes all game long.
  13. true, but also their size and their game. certain guys just need to be primary ballhandlers. i also think Lander's biggest attributes are him pushing it up the floor and setting people up. even if his shooting gets better (Lord knows it almost has to), i still see his game as a primary ballhandler. i do not see Rob that way. don't know about Johnson, but just a guess.
  14. i have always been a fan of taking my 5 best players, starting them, and playing them big minutes regardless of position. so i have no problem not labeling them as a PG, SG, SF, PF, C. i get it that those days are gone. i just think those 2 players particularly - Lander and Johnson pretty much need to be PGs.
  15. no problem with 3 guards. i just think Lander is far from a shooter and seems like he needs the ball in his hands and create and set up guys. i haven't seen Johnson play, but if he averaged almost 6apg and shot poorly from 3, he's probably the same. just my thought.
  16. sounds good. you must be right! did you email Woodson yet? Scott can probably get his address if you don't have it?
  17. yeah. very easily could be Stewart, but to say no question when i've never seen him play at this level... not yet
  18. i am not one who is big on playing more than 9 guys meaningful minutes, but dang! who would be considered bottom 3 guys right now? i guess it would be between Leal, Galloway, Phinisee, Brunk, Geronimo? all of those guys could have solid roles.
  19. i still see him as a starter until Hunter gets more consistent with effort. no?
