OSU QB Kyle McCord is in the portal.

I saw an article over the weekend that OSU was one school to offer a $1 million NIL deal to Washington St QB Cameron Ward.  Coincidence?

McCord was the worst starting OSU qb in recent memory. Any of their qb's of the past 15-20 years probably wins a national title with this team.

So the move for Florida St should have been instead of winning all their games, instead of scheduling 2 non conference games vs P5 schools and winning....what they should have done is say Jordan Travis is hurt but will be back by January 1st? Joking aside.

Or you could have your entire conference play one less conference game to decrease loses for 50% of your teams...oh wait. (SEC)

The question is were they really #1?

Based off their prior two seasons, unfortunately.  The same reason they kept harping about their 29 game win streak. This year's Georgia team was mediocre and had a terrible schedule. Their two best offensive players were limping last night. The SEC, and especially the east, was really down. Mizzou of all people dominated. I guess someone has to not lose each game.

Missing from your statement is that Bama struggled with a bad Auburn team and only beat them on some 4th down luck. Also missing is that the refs gifted Bama a TD last night by not reviewing that catch at the end of the first half. That's struggling more than a 9 point road win against Florida and 10 point neutral field win against a ranked Louisville.

edit: I see that it is in fact not missing, but I think being underemphasized by the ESPN types.

Yes! This might be one of the biggest points not discussed enough. Bama fans want to cry about the Texas loss, at home, being early in the season. Unfortunately,  they got completely outplayed by a terrible Auburn team in their last game. They won on a complete fluke play. That has to be a significant factor for the committee.

I just heard that FSU is 3-0 v top 25 and the only team to have 8 wins v bowl eligible teams.  Norvell is right.  There are lots of good teams, but the others lost and FSU didn’t.  They’re in IMO.

And they beat LSU, one of the top SEC schools. They should be in without a doubt. SEC was just down this year; it happens.

    Michigan, Washington,  FSU, Texas.

    Pretty simple.

If there are 5 power conferences and only 4 spots then to me the committee has to look at more factors then just winning your conference. This has always been a horrible system but they will put the 4 best teams in…maybe they think FSU is better than a 1 loss team…but if they are trying for the 4 best teams…I don’t think they will select them if Bama wins convincingly.

The chance for Bama to win convicingly is over. They may win, but this has been an ugly game. Plus Bowers and McConkey are noticeably limping. People can see this isn't 2021 Georgia.

From an eye test standpoint, Bama had to have an incredibly lucky last second hail Mary to beat a terrible Auburn team last week. Who just got smashed by New Mexico State. At home. Just no way to justify jumping an undefeated FSU or Texas that handled Bama at home.

    Just my thoughts.

So Washington is in.  To me, another spot is either FSU or Texas.  If FSU wins they are in.  If FSU loses, Texas is in.  If FSU wins, Texas could still get in but needs help.

If Georgia loses, Texas should be in over Bama. If Georgia AND FSU lose, things get really interesting.

I guess Hart had an impressive plan and staff that he would be bringing with him. At least one of the decision makers was really impressed.

I'm starting to come around on Hart. He's a guy that knows our program. Pros and cons. He also knows recruiting at the IU and Michigan levels. He would have a ton of relationships already established. If he has a plan and the coaches to implement it, I'll take a guy with a vision and the passion to make it happen.

Truthfully I think we should be pretty excited about Sorbsy. 🤷‍♂️

He wasn't great the last two weeks, but crap he's young. 15TDs passing 5INTs and 4 rushing TDs in about 8 games, couple of those dysfunctional and lost his OC mid year. (Still an adjustment, but ultimately a good thing)

He reminds of those PSU QB’s like Trace McSorley that have moxy and just make plays. He could be the guy that other teams hate and feel like he's been playing for 6 years.

Gameday just listed Mark Stoops from UK as a likely target for Texas A & M.

I feel like that's a bad fit for both sides.  Part of the reason Stoops recruits well to UK is his family connections to Ohio. A&M will chew him up and spit him out. He'd be a Chevy truck being asked to drive in a Formula One race.  Ask Rich Rodriguez if he wish he'd stayed at West Virginia.

Couldn't help but laugh a little at this. Will Rogers is Mississippi State's dual threat QB. One of the best. Gives an emotional speech about never quitting, fighting back tears, being there for his teammates on and off the field the last 4 years,etc.....and subsequently it's announced he's entering the portal.

That's funny. Crazy world we live in now. I guess with the CV bonus year, some of these kids might view their 4 year commitment fulfilled. Can't blame them for getting paid. Hopefully in his grad season of making bank, Will takes some PR and communication courses!😅

I think there is a possibility/scenario where the SEC gets 2 in.  But I would prefer they get 0 in.

For sure. There is a scenario, but this of all years would be an extremely tough sell. The winner of the OSU/Michigan would need to lose in the B1G title game, Florida State needs to lose, Washington needs to lose, Oregon might need to lose as well, and then Texas.  Alabama would have to win convincingly enough to impress the committee,  but not so much that a 1 loss Georgia with a terrible SOS gets left out over other 1 loss teams. My head hurts just thinking of all that!

If Alabama beats UGA the SEC will get two teams in

ESPN is powerful,  but barring some crazy scenario,  that won't likely happen. Georgia's strength of schedule is atrocious.  Bama lost at home to Texas. The SEC is down in general this season compared to their recent past. If you have an undefeated OSU/Michigan, Washington,  FSU, and 1 loss Texas, do you really believe the SEC would get 2 teams in?

How could Bama jump Texas if both win out. If they did, then the whole argument that every regular season game is important goes out the window

Texas beat Bama. At Alabama.  I'm already hearing it from Bama fans they should be in the playoff, and they need to just stop. Win, don't whine. The funnier thing will be if Bama beats Georgia and the SEC doesn't get a team in the playoff.

I still believe that IU won't be at it's best offensively until Mgbako is playing the 4 with Cupps, X, Trey, and Ware. Reneau could also be the 5 in place of Ware as well. I just think that combination needs to be together at different parts of the game.

Agree . 3 aggressive perimeter defenders that can all shoot and drive. Ware protecting the rim. Mgbako just has to stay with the opponents 4 man and make shots. He's inexperienced,  but should become a tough match-up.

Cam Camper is out for the season.  He had a procedure on the same knee that had the ACL injury last year.

Such a shame. I feel like his talent has been mostly wasted at IU. He'll have some amazing catches, then be forgotten. A competent OC would've made sure he had numerous targets every game. He's one of the few guys we have that you can throw it up in his area, and let him go get it. I wish him a full and speedy recovery.
