I've said on here and elsewhere for years that the PAC needed to a Friday Night Football brought to you by Apple or Google or any other West Coast company. Even for the Friday is only for high school crowd you could start the games 9pm  EST/6pm PST and people would tune in or tune in when they get home from high school.

Especially in the late Fall when the Midwest and East coast basically turn dark at 5pm....besides the football they show the sun, mountains, oceans,etc....it's a natural and you own the night tv wise.

That's actually a great idea. Since the B1G took their 4 best teams, have the Friday night games feature teams playing at the 4 west coast members. That way you don't interfere with traditional Friday night Midwestern high school football.

Look, this guy is in no position to stand there in front of the coach and tell him to do anything just because he pays for a ticket and brags that he’s an entitled loudmouth.   I suspect Bell won’t be back next year based on Allen’s own thought process.  He’s not doing it because some self important moron with a mic tries to “educate” him.  Nothing is happening that isn’t obvious to Allen.  That’s insulting particularly in a public setting.

I'm a neutral observer in this debate, but I thought CTA took most of the comments pretty well. His facial expression definitely changed with the discussion of the business of decision making. It has to eat him up seeing how bad Bell is doing, and knowing he chose him for that role. I would suggest he call Kalen Deboer and ask for a reference for future OC hires, because 75% of Allen’s OC choices have been terrible.

  3. My biggest concern, other than the poor offensive performance, is Bell doubling down on the option as an effective "play action" strategy for this offense. Hopefully CTA has ripped him in private and pointed out from a defensive mindset how easy it is to defend at this level with our personnel. That comment to me just screamed a defiant, ignorant mindset.

Living 20 years in SEC land I kept hearing how they didn’t need to play a tough non-conference game because playing a conference schedule was tougher than any other team’s whole schedule. Based on the make up of conferences next year the BIG has 6 of the current top 10 teams and the SEC has 2! And still they will say football everywhere else sucks?!

You are my new best friend. Everything is cyclical,  but the SEC is definitely weaker this year than in recent years. Our new B1G members from the PAC are looking strong. My biggest beef is with the lack of penalty for playing less conference games.  How the SEC isn’t penalized in the rankings for playing Austin Peay, Furman, or ETSU in November is beyond me. Oh well, times are changing.

An RPO here and there to keep the D honest. Otherwise, TJ is not worth making QB run a major piece of your offense. TJ extending broken plays from the pocket, feeling pressure and moving with eyes downfield and/or the occasional scramble for plus yards. That's the ticket.

Very well said. Escapability and a run threat is all we need.

  6. I don't agree with, but understand, the ultra-conservative play calling against OSU. But for the love of Barry Switzer, can we please stop running the option! It fools no one, puts Tayven at risk,  and gets stuffed almost every time (spoiler alert; qb is keeping because the rb is 2 feet away from him and one defender can take both players). Even the qb draws that aren't usually big gainers serve a purpose to occupy a defender to spy.

Throw the ball to our big receivers and tight end, motion Lucas all over the field, and throw swing passes and wheel routes to Henderson. Mix in Turner for runs between the tackles. Play Lucas and Henderson together more to create mismatches. Just please, NO MORE OPTION!

The play Syracuse just ran to score v the Toiletmakers was what we should have run down at the goal line

We needed a qb sneak or run Turner in a power formation. Turner runs hard downhill and has some wiggle between the tackles. Love Henderson as a pass catcher and running off tackle, but he dances and hesitates too much for a quick-hitting play.

We’re just talking about basketball, look what is happening to SEC football (Alabama) now that the playing field is even!

You're both hitting the nail on the head. It seems to be leveling the playing field, and the dirtiest programs appear to be affected the most.

Alabama fans I know are pissed about NIL and the portal. They claim it has ruined college football. Maybe it has; for them. Now boosters of programs that may have restricted their desire to "help" before, can participate in collectives. The bagmen and other nefarious characters are less emphasized, which is good.

    Walt Bell did NOT....

False start on third and 1, force Tayven to run the wrong way on a beautiful draw play, or tell Coby to not turn up in time on a crosser that should have resulted in a 1st.

3 massive plays that had zero to do with coaching and everything to do with execution.

The play calling was fine, when you take all factors into account.

Great points. I tend to believe CTA advised an offensive game plan that limited pressure on our new qb's, took time off the clock, and gave our defense much needed rest.  He wanted a tractor pull, not a drag race. Don't kill the confidence of our young qb's,  emphasize defense, and take some shots on offense without taking unnecessary risks. The execution on some of those shots just wasn't there yet.

Notre Dame played like they were ready to make some noise in CFB this season. The ND QB transfer from Wake Forest looked like he was auditioning to play for a team on Sundays. His passes were accurate and on target.

This is where the transfer portal can change things in one year. His talent, leadership,  and moxy is something they have lacked at qb for quite some time. I know it was Navy, but he will have them in the hunt this season.
