I would not mind seeing that develop into a closing lineup. Lots of ball handling and ball pressure. You could move Mack to the 4 and then have the 5 be matchup dependent.

If Ware is the post, there's a deep threat at all 5 positions, and 3-4 can get their own shot. Plus the free throw shooting that was mentioned with that lineup.

Mods move where you want. Just have had some emails checking on me. Just got my phone back around 9pm.

I was in a Coma for 14 days. I just found out. Pneumonia turned into ards. I lost 1/3 of my left lung and 50 lbs so far in the 27 days I've been here. Guys don't wait to go to the doctor. I waited and they told me a few more hours and I would have died.

I was 100,% ventilated. Woke up from my Coma and pulled out my own tube. Or I would still be in the Coma today.  Headed to Bloomington rehabilitation hospital tomorrow to start rehab for the 3 weeks at least. Learning to walk again at 56 sucks.

Kiss your loved ones every day. Thank whoever every day for that day. GO IU. Shot me an email if you wish. Good practice, taken an hour to write this out. Lol

God is good. Prayers for a speedy and full recovery. 🙏

Yeah, we need to make more but really need to even just have more volume of 3's. We haven't been taking enough.

This. 33% from 3 versus 40-45% from 2 wins all day.  As long as they're good shots within the flow of the offense, gotta have a green light. Situational exceptions must still be considered for time, strategy,  and if a player is in a major funk.

Find the most arrogant up and coming offensive coordinator on the face of the earth regardless of level, age, or experience.

Clearly someone up to the challenge with a watch me attitude.

Not sure if Tommy Rees has enough of a track record, but could be worth a look. Honestly don't know much about him, but he would have experience at winning programs.

  5. With conference realignment basically creating the Big 2 conferences (B1G & SEC), it will be interesting to see if a top coach from one of the lesser conferences makes a jump. Dabo would seem to be more of a SEC guy (Bama), but who knows. Utah's coach would be a homerun for someone.

According to TOS it seems things might already be in motion to some degree, FWIW.

Thanks. I was hoping so, but good to hear.  Hopefully they majorly invest in the program with this hire. It would be nice for loyal fans like us to see a consistently competitive team.

Pun intended, this ship has sailed. The captain could not right the ship and he's been given 2-3 seasons to show that he was up to the job. I gave him the benefit of the doubt in 2021. But these past two seasons show he isn't capable of turning it around. If you watch this IU team, they don't have an identity.  Not good on offense, defense or specials teams.  Rutgers just ran the ball down their throat.  It was like Rutgers was 2005 Wisconsin.  Allen is a D guy and he lets a bottom tier Big Ten team do that.  Not acceptable. They are getting man handled by the worst teams in the league.  I'm not sure what happen after 2020, but there's no more letting CTA figure it out. Good man does not equal a good head football coach.

Solid pun work!  We're in agreement on WHAT needs to be done. It's the WHEN and HOW that are in question. I really hope Dolson is gathering financial pledges to make a huge hire and commit funds for facility upgrades. We'll see.

I would love nothing more than for CTA to right the ship bit I'd actually prefer he be a man and step down and accept a different position within the program or athletic department.   I believe he is an asset but in over his head.

Some of yall are floating Art Briles which is a hard no and we know that.  Dabo Sweeney may be on the chopping block if he can't get ahold of this team in the next 12 months.

Would you be willing to ride out CTA one more year for a legitimate 50/50 shot at Dabo next December?

In a perfect world,  CTA rights the ship. Not likely. With our current program trajectory,  the next ideal is he moves to DC, where he is best suited, and we bring in a brilliant  offensive guy as head coach. Unfortunately,  I don't see either of those happening. CTA seems like a great guy that loves the program, but we probably need a complete overhaul.

In your scenario, yes I would wait it out. That being said, there is no chance that Dabo would want to come to a program like ours. He will have multiple suitors lined up from programs with much better history, facilities and support.

Dabo would spend a year or two rehab coaching for Saban, then take over Bama in my opinion. They love him here.

  10. Anyone else think the Justin Fuente hire as an "offensive analyst" was insurance in case CTA is fired during the season?  Carey could easily slide to interim HC and Fuente to OC. Carey will have great insight regarding the entire football program to help evaluate for a coaching search.

I don't really believe this was true though. Nobody is scooping up Indiana's coach after a year or two unless they go undefeated in a non covid season. You'd have to be super desperate.

Guess we'll never know. We now have the last couple seasons to frame our opinions. At the time...

  12. Guessing their compensation package for the point guard they hoped would reclass got shifted to Boogie. Doesn't really bother me anymore with NIL. We can now compete, but it doesn’t mean we get everyone we want. I wanted Boogie, he's gonna be a stud, wish him the best, but on to the next.

Keep in mind, if X didn't get hurt last season, JHS wouldn't have had the role he did last year. GC will be hard to keep off the floor as a sophomore, and he doesn't seem like the type to back down from a challenge. Gotta have guys that want to compete and compliment each other on the floor.

Worried about Ware. Hope he can turn it on or Woody will be playing Sparks over him.

It better click soon for Ware that he needs to put in the effort to excel. If he gets labeled as someone that won't give max effort all the time, his NBA aspirations are in serious danger. Glad we have options and can make him earn minutes.

He proved me wrong. Puts in the most work on the team. Isn’t the most talented, but works his ass off. Will be interesting to see how Woody uses him.

Combining elite talent with one and done ability and aspirations, with players like Sparks that dream about playing for IU, is ideal. Gotta have both to win big in my opinion.  Hope he continues to work and makes an impact for us. Kid is living his dream.

I guess that I should’ve been more specific. To further elaborate on what I meant to imply is that I’d love nothing more than for Woody to beat Cal out for a top level guard, projected to someday play in the league.

Well said. I'd also add, with NIL, we can now compete in recruiting with certain teams without having to play the bag game.  The recruiting game and power have shifted. Now is the perfect time to have someone like CMW as our CEO.
