I kept waiting for Trump to take this seriously and create some smart, effective mandates - I would have 100% been behind his decision if he did. I don’t really obsess over what politicians do or don’t do regarding COVID anymnore. They are as a group, the most venal, hateful, and greedy people in our nation. We pay their salary so they can further divide us - it’s maddening.

Honestly,  think this has only been political b/c the politicians (and the people who follow them) are obsessed with keeping score and being right. It’s exhausting seeing how this has further divided us. I mean, I’m super liberal, but I can’t stand the yappy, far left accounts on Twitter who are still cryassing about Trump. I’ve muted so many of them.

Social media can be a great tool but I largely stay away from it.

I just wonder if alot of the hateful vile stuff people type is internet tough talk or if they really live their life that way. Sad if they do.

They weren't talking about our game but just in General.  A lot of times when the ball carriers go into the defender he lowers his head and make contact.

It's just part of the game in most situations.  Recievers are most vulnerable.  Anything that happens within 5 or so yards of the line of scrimmage is not intentional.

I played on offensive/defensive line from 3rd grade until I graduated high school. Banging heads us part of the game.

Only once, my senior year, did I experience what would constitute targeting on a kickoff return.

Some asshole hit me with his head in my head from behind. I thought I was blind for a minute but my sight came back after a bit.

One of my teammates told me the guys number. We were getting our ass kicked anyway so I finally got ahold of the dude and made him pay for it dearly. Yeah I got a penalty and the last thing he got was a thumb in the eye. Lol. Among other things.

I’m weird with ladders also. So long as it’s a standard (v shaped) ladder, it could be 30 feet and I’d be fine. Extension ladder….yeah, 5 feet, max. Hate those damn things.

Extension ladders make me think of Clark Griswold.  Hard no. Just can't do it.

Danke.  I handle that as well, like the relocation of the power outlet that’s now contained inside that box…lol.

Only thing I don’t touch is roofing. Heights in general don’t bother me. I can look out an airplane window or my 12th floor office window no problem. Sheer heights, like climbing an extension ladder or looking over the edge of a roof….yeah, different story.

I'm weird about heights, and I for some reason like roofing, wtf right.

I can sit 20+ feet up in a tree stand. Jump from a 30 ft cliff into a river.

I can do roofing as long as it's a 10 pitch or below.

I don't do ladders. I can barely do a 2 step step stool.

Lol….the door depicted is the coat closet, and even it can still open fully. Front door has complete range of opening as well.

Looks good though. You are quite the handyman.

I do fine myself but am a much better repair man. Specifically mechanical work.

Work in progress. Shoe storage/backpack stashing spot for the kids in our entryway. Hopefully will have it at least in primer tomorrow.

The interesting design twist: the storage box looks built in, but is removable should the need arise. It’s designed like a base cabinet, and is held in place with a French cleat. To help keep the look seamless, the bottom horizonal piece of molding is joined into the storage box.

Y'all must be little.  Squeezing through a half open door would give me an anxiety attack.

There have been massive protests around the world, for weeks now. 100's of thousands of people, and growing. Yet its not being covered and basically pushed under the rug.  This thing is about to blow up I am afraid.  The mandates and passports aren't going to fly for long. Australia would be at war right now, if they hadn't disarmed their citizens years ago.

Either people are willfully ignorant or sticking their head up their asses.

The one thing the powers that be need is for people to be divided. Well, they overplayed their hand and people are tired and frustrated and are uniting.

All I know is I won't give up anything if you know what I mean😉.

Meanwhile, older wiser you wants to go back and stooge-slap younger you and say “Dude….she gets paid to take her clothes off….MCFLY….HELLO!!!”

Thank God I only got dollar dances a few times.

Had a pentecostal friend that went down the rabbit hole and racked up some credit card debt.

2001. It was the club just off Green River Rd. I don’t think it was called The Pony back then but like I said…been a long long time. I do remember my roommate brought a girl home from there. Told her he had weed. They ended up dating for a couple months. A year later she got sent away I think because she drove the getaway car for her new boyfriend who ended up murdering someone. Yikes!

Ha. Was called Stephanie's cabaret when I was the. A very low rent place.

It was in Evansville. Today it’s called the Pony…20 years ago it was something different. I’m getting old and can’t remember the name of every strip club I frequented in college though.🤪 just kidding I got drug to a couple but I never had much money to waste on that back then. I remember sitting at the stage to stuff a few dollars a dance…remember you got bothered to buy drinks and private dances less as opposed to at the tables further back. Also it helped to bring a girl with you and have her sit on your lap…the dancers left you alone then too. At least at low level clubs that I ventured to.

I went to USI too. Graduated 2008.

This is my whacked out plan, should I ever hit the Powerball jackpot:

    - “Primary” residence of some broom closet in Texas or Florida for income tax purposes

    - Residence 1: San Diego. Best damn weather in the country most of the year.
-Residence 2: Atlantic coast of Maine. New England autumns are gorgeous, and I’ll need a place to get away when I’m sick of Californians. 🤣

    - Residence 3: Town home in downtown Boston. Place to stay when I’m in town dealing with financial matters.
    - Residence 4: 20 acres in BFE, Midwest. For when I’m sick of dealing with everyone.

    Completely reasonable, I think. :coffee:

I've got #4 covered.  5 acres in Vermillion County Illinois.

From everything I've seen and heard you have a REALLY good employer.

    A REALLY REALLY good employer.

I honestly feel guilty in a way because I don't feel like I deserve this. I work 3 days a week 12 hrs Friday- Sunday and make almost 6 figures.

I just try to give back and share some of my good fortune to the community.

Where would it be, and why?

I'm changing career paths which will probably involve me moving in a couple years when I'm done with grad school (not many chemist jobs in rural Illinois). I'm interested in hearing where people have been that they thought would be fun to move to.

I've been very fortunate to basically had paid vacations for summer college jobs. I've been to 42 different continental states.

Most of my life has been within 45 miles of my hometown and Bloomington.

That said, of all the places I've been,

My top 3, Montana, Wyoming, New Hampshire.

2nd place South Dakota, and Omaha Nebraska. Only because my company offered me a position with a relocation package to Omaha. Nope.

Any Chicagoland Metallica fans on here? They just announced a surprise pop up show for $20 tonight at the Metro.

If it was closer I'd be down. Been wanting to see Metallica for years but just don't think I'd fit in with the crowd.

    As always anything Metallica.

    It should have been Lars.

    RIP Cliff Burton.

    FU Lars.
