Unfortunately no I live with a bunch of scaredy cats. I don't feel comfortable going with my future daughter in law and her friends she only person besides me that like them. I want to stay in a real "haunted" house also

That's too bad. I went to Waverly Hills a few years ago. Normally whatever about them but that one was great. They had a guy suited up as Michael Meyers at the entrance.

I thought it was a statue. While we were distracted by the guide this dude raises his arm up and steps into the middle of the crowd. I about ran out the front door.

Best part was at the end. We were leaving through a tunnel and all the sudden there were stobe lights fog and 3 dudes with chainsaws. I took off running and turned around, wife is trapped and screaming.  So I had to go back and get her because she wouldn't move.

How long does it take to get one of those up to temp? Just wondering if it's worth all the work. We've looked at a few different ones but cleaning/maintaining/waiting for it to get to temp....just wondering if it's worth it....for a homemade pizza.

I looked it up. Takes about 15 min to preheat. And extra 5-10 if it's cold enough out.

I have no idea. I imagine with using pellets not too long. They also have a propane fueled version but out of my price range.

A friend of mine bought something like that for his new house on Lake Conroe. We went over there, made our own pizzas, and waited for the oven to reach 500 degrees. When it finally got close, we put them in for what was supposed to be 3 minutes...

Problem was, the temp gauge he was using was set to Celsius rather than Fahrenheit...

They came out a little black...

Other than the temperature mix up what did you think of it.

I'm thinking I could make more than just pizza with it. Pizza being the primary reason though.

My neighbor has a small commercial HVAC business. He says with today’s candidates, he’s happy to find someone “semi-skilled”, meaning they have a double digit IQ, a pulse and know the difference between a Phillips and slotted screwdriver without asking Siri.

He must need someone to fetch tools and do the heavy lifting because from just the work I've done on my home unit having things properly installed isn't so simple.

While having some similarities these drugs are not the same. I see nothing wrong with isolating and taking what possibly Ivermectin does well as an anti-viral and targeting and improving on it. We all know lots of drugs that are chemically similar but even small changes would change them radically. While I know there is a lot of disgusting back office dealing in Washington and I have no disillusions these big pharma companies will maximize this opportunity to make money I've seen no evidence this is in fact a copy cat drug.

Not saying this is happening in this case but take Tylenol for example.  They hold the patent on the chemical structure for Tylenol. But the patent eventually expires and it opened up to generics.

In order to keep renewing patents for Tylenol they will alter the chemical structure of an inactive ingredient enough or maybe use a different binder.

Kings built tombs more splendid than the houses of the living and counted the names of their descent dearer than the names of their sons. Childless lords sat in aged halls musing on heraldry or in high cold towers asking questions of the stars. And so the kingdom sank into ruin, the line of kings failed, the white tree withered and rule was given over to lesser men.”

    JRR Tolkien

Starting to sound uncomfortably familiar, isn’t it?

We are being RULED unwillingly by mental midgets. That's the nicest politically correct way I can say it.

If I had it my way I'd fix it at 3200 fps.

My daughter is a sophomore in all honors classes. She needs all the above you mentioned. She brings home this ridiculous math and I'm like you can't even balance a checkbook, sign your name in cursive or even make change but you can do this crap. Lol

    Common core math?

If so, our infrastructure is going to suffer in the future.

  9. Don't know where else to put this.

Among a shitload of other things outside of school.

From 7th grade to Senior year, we had classes that taught us how cook, sew, woodshop, metal work, I took electives in welding, woodworking, ect.

    Does that even exist anymore?

My welding teacher, Mr. Allison taught me so well I spent my senior year spring break restoring my grandpa's fishing boat as a bday present.  @rico can appreciate that.

I love Boudin Balls as an appetizer, but no head cheese for me...

Do like beef and chicken livers, and any kind of pate...

I wish shipping was cheaper. I can order 1lb of pork boudin sausage from cajungrocers.com but have to pay $45 in shipping. Just no.

I really miss it. Spent a summer in Acadia during college and couldn't get enough of it.

Watched alot of Emeril Legassie growing up and do my best to make cajun food.

But can't beat what I had down there.

Bored at lunch today, I went back and read about the first 10 pages when this 1st broke.  Crazy to think this is pushing 300 pages .

I find it interesting from early on a few were saying this was manufactured and it turned out to be true.

  12. Went to The Smoking Goose in Indy a couple weeks ago. Place is awesome. Just tried the N'duja I bought there and it is delicious.  Just saw they have a rabbit/pork head cheese. I'll be going back for that and more.

Anyway, started trying charcuterie a few years ago and haven't had any I haven't liked.

I would like to get Cajun boudin sausage like I had when I was in Louisiana but shipping is outrageous.  Guess I'll make it myself.

    Anyone else like this stuff.

    Sure it could have...

If there wasn't a mandate it could have been avoided...

If she had told the officer she had an exception rather than giving him the finger (which she admitted here) it could have been avoided...

If she hadn't resisted arrest it could have been avoided...

Do I agree with everything the officer did? No, but her actions were the catalyst for his actions...

If you want mandates but don't want them enforced, then they aren't worth the paper they're written on...

I guess I would make a terrible cop. I'd rather take a nap or watch Netflix than bother with people like that.

But I would issue turn signal violations like no other.

I watched the video, and read the story with it...

The officer was trying to enforce a mandate, correct? If they're  going to have mandates, but not enforce them, then what's the use?

What should he have done? Like a lot of things nowadays this is being blown a bit out of proportion. She said he was choking her, yet she was still able to speak. She resisted arrest, kicked an officer, and was subdued.

While I do think there needs to be some sort of police reform in this country, many situations with the police can be avoided by simply complying with what they ask you to do.

The officers that do get carried away should face due process through the judicial system.

Unfortunately, that's not the case in some instances. The BS spread about Border Patrol Agents "whipping" illegal Haitian immigrants is a good example. Anyone who knows anything about horse knows a split rein is used to control the horse, not as a weapon. No illegal immigrants were touched by the split reins, yet now it's being portrayed as a crime akin to horrible acts committed during slavery.

I guess the way I saw it is it could have been avoided if the police chose to ignore someone who was outside. Instead they chose to close distance and instigate. There are plenty of examples of Australian police abusing the people.

Plus, what a weak man if that was the only way he was able subdue a woman.

The border patrol thing is ridiculous and idiots who have probably never seen a horse in real life except the one in the mirror should not opine.

The real question though, how did so many poor Haitians get to Del Rio, Texas?  Somebody paid for it.
