I just see that there are very few left that are still backing Woodson anywhere I read

I think we can all agree, that one of the biggest issues about this current coaching situation and "The BIG Elephant in the Room", is because Coach Woodson is former IU BB royalty.

Obviously, this story couldn't have been written any better for both parties......, if it was flourishing and successful. It's creating doubt, division and total animosity.

I want/wanted this to work out in the biggest way, for both parties. Complete and total change is needed to fix this "blown engine".

IMO, this is the statement that needs to confidently said and used in this current situation...."It's nothing personal, but at the end of the day this a strictly a business decision!"

Also, I feel there are too many people emotionally invested in this to see what needs to happen.... JMO

    GO IU!

Wanna see a good coach? Watch the women’s team spank Iowa right now. Watch the chemistry and continuity from our lady Hoosiers. Smart efficient offense and in your face defense. Pride heart and high energy. Win or lose this game you can be proud that these girls will leave it all on the floor.

Tell me one IU men’s player that can shoot the rock like some of these ladies. Not a single one can do what these girls do in game. They are the face of Terry Morens character, attitude, energy and IQ.

These ladies aren’t near as athletic as the men but much higher in fundamentals. Terrys ability to translate and connect with her team is obvious.

The ladies play like IU men’s used to play in the 80’s and 90’s….

I believe this will be an interesting 3 weeks coming up

I take that as it could be good? At least I’m hopeful…😉

    it has been mentioned earlier….,

you have actually heard from your source/sources, that “someone” within (associated with IU bb) have put out feelers for IU interest to Pearl, or any others?

I get the hesitation but not sure why Pearl should be disqualified because he’s older.

Jim Larranaga-> Took Miami to a F4 last year and an E8 the previous. He’s 74.

Leonard Hamilton-> He’s now 75. 4 years ago had FSU top 2 in the conference and went to a S16. Year before that (Covid year) team was first in conference and had a 26-5 record. Year before that, Sweet 16. Year before that, E8. Doing all of that in his late 60’s/early 70’s.

Brian Dutcher-> National Championship game last year. 3 straight tournament appearances. Covid year they were best team in conference.  64 years old.

    Coach K-> Retired mid 70’s.

    Roy Williams-> Retired early 70’s.

Bill Self (61), Cal (65), Izzo (69), Barnes (69), Pitino (71). These guys are some of the best in the game currently. Only see their names brought up in retirement if they are having bad seasons, which are rare.

Still not convinced? Here’s a study done arguing that the older coaches are more successful than younger coaches in the tournament. Some interesting notes from it:

“The average age of head coaches in the Sweet Sixteen since 2010 is 52.9 years old. That average increases to 54.1 years old in the Elite Eight and 55.6 years old in the Final Four. While the average age of championship game coaches stays fairly flat at 55.3, the average age of championship winners since 2010 jumps to 57.8 years old.”

We also just hired a FB coach who is 62, which seems to bother no one…why? Because we want to win and feel he was the best pick to accomplish that. Apply the same standard.

Both Cig and Woodson definitely color their hair to look younger to their players....lol

I don't think we should let him go midseason. I mean, I really hope we give him the option to retire and that he takes it so we don't have to let him go at all.

....heck, the players may have even caught wind of something with Woodson too. Who knows? That could be why they don't seem to be fighting/playing hard for him to stay. JMO

My statement wasn't really in thoughts of "what they will or should do".... just IF they do....

I feel the first at-bat should be one of the two associate HCs, not our recruiting cord or Calbert Chaney.

This isn't all that relevant, though. I don't think they'll can him mid season.

I don't either...... I sort of feel he is a "dead man walking" right now.....jmo

Rosemond or Hunter should be the HC if Woodson is let go midseason.

If IU truly has intentions of parting ways with Woodson (especially since they supposedly put feelers out) and want to make a bold statement....., cut bait and do the above.

I just can't see Woodson fired, but rather strongly encouraged to leave.

I feel a change coming. If not, next season will be insufferable. It’s so obvious there has to be a big move made. Folks are ready to run him out of Bloomington as it is.

Like I said earlier….this feels different that the later stages of Miller and Crean. It feels worse.

I want IU to be good. Basketball is better in Indiana when all the major schools are good. It’s just not a reality and the decision makers at IU have caused it for years. In 49 states it’s just basketball but this is Indiana “except at Indiana University”!

Something has to change at the top….Dolson holds the “keys”. We are continuing to lose games, fans and recruits. This feels much worse than Crean or Miller.

"we are here, We are players, we are on the court, you will never hold us accountable and there is NOTHING that you can do about it". Fvck you, we own you, you know it and we are exposing your IU admin.

    change my mind.

I suspect 4 will soon stop running back to the other end and only walk through their offense. We are watching art of Fvck you level. If I were coach, I wouldn't even come back in the 2nd half and only play 2 cheerleaders.

No. That guy said "it's a done deal"----- when it's clearly NOT an actual done deal lol

The kid has NOT signed on the dotted line, so it cannot be considered "done"... I hope that was reasonably understandable to read.

lol…. Nowww I’m on board with you! Lol!

You are right, once he has signed or made it official himself there’s always a possibility.

There have been a lot of “done deals” directed positively towards IU over the years and several have ended up the opposite.

I just don't think Scottsburg should be a host option. Neither should Austin. Salem and BC are debatable.

SC shouldn't host. NH would fine, Corydon.. meh. Providence, Pekin no.

SW Hanover isn't centrally located for the 2A sectional and they get to host it, which I am in favor of. Also--- they had people parked pretty far out last year--- they would bus people to the front door, it was friggin awesome.

They don't rotate the 4A sectional either.

...Nice win by our Jennings County Panthers, upsetting ranked Scottsburg last night.

  13. Slightly off topic, but I would like to see more of the assistant coaches involved in the huddle and during time outs. I know you see Coach Rosemond and Coach Walsh in Woodson's ear as well the the players, but I like seeing IU Women's Coach Wierzba drawing up specific defensive plays as Coach Moren listen's in. JMO

  14. Since Coach is "not going anywhere anytime soon", the portal has to be his best friend in the off season!

Coach has to.... (if Reneau stays and possibly Ware & MgBako decide to come back)

#1..... land a quality and proven PG.

#2.... find at least 2 scoring guards with respectable/good 3 pt. shooting %'s

    #3.... Win
