  1. Couldn’t have scripted a worse half. Most important game of the season so far and getting blown out by half. Just completely unacceptable.
  2. Good bounce back win. I honestly have few complaints about the performance other than FTs and rebounding, specifically in the last 5+ minutes. Mac proved tonight what he is capable of. Hope to see more of this from him going forward. It also seems that our staff heard the complaints because the substitution patterns were much better and our team flowed much better and controlled momentum for pretty much the entire game.
  3. I’ve been on record saying I think we are in “purgatory” with Woody but I don’t go out of my way to post on popular platforms like Twitter and tag one of the most popular CBB personalities for all to see. I completely understand the anger and frustration but let’s keep that in-house instead of looking like erratic children. This is also now the 3rd tweet Trillys sent out about Woody and his coaching since the Nebraska game. It’s embarrassing since he’s clearly just using us to push traffic on his platform.
  4. Ask and you shall receive haha. P.S. for whoever needs to hear this. Can we leave the Woody hot seat talk to our IU message boards instead of public forums like Twitter and Facebook?! I know for a fact guys like Liam and Queen follow Trilly and see stuff like this. You’re only making matters worse by planting seeds of doubt about the coaching situation. Also, if you don’t think opposing coaches see this and will use it as negative recruiting then you’re ignorant.
  5. Woodson looking at “the hump” he’s trying to get us over.
  6. Reporter: “Coach, thoughts on substitution patterns, free throw shooting, rebounding, turnovers, and overall effort and discipline from your team?” Woodson: “I’m not going to sit here and answer that…we’ve gotten some good results here and there. But mostly nowhere.”
  7. Per his wiki page: As a junior team captain, his Hoosiers won the 1979 NIT Tournament and he was named to first team All-Big Ten. That summer Woodson won a gold medal as captain of the United States basketball team at the 1979 Pan American Games. His senior year, Woodson and Isiah Thomas led the 1979–80 Hoosiers to a conference title and a berth in the NCAA Tournament's Sweet Sixteen. Woodson was named the 1980 Big Ten Player of the Year, an NABC All-American, and awarded the Chicago TribuneSilver Basketball. Among Hoosier basketball players, Woodson ranks fifth all-time in total points and his 19.8 points per game average is tied (with Calbert Cheaney) for the second highest by a Hoosier who played four seasons in college. Woodson played 11 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) after getting drafted by the New York Knicks as the 12th pick of the 1980 NBA draft. He also played for the New Jersey Nets, Kansas City/Sacramento Kings, Los Angeles Clippers, Houston Rockets, and Cleveland Cavaliers. He appeared in 13 NBA playoff games over five post-seasons. Woodson later coached for seven different NBA franchises. He worked as an assistant for the Milwaukee Bucks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Larry Brown's Philadelphia 76ers and Detroit Pistons, Los Angeles Clippers, and New York Knicks. Woodson and Brown, who had previously worked together as player and coach, won an NBA Championship with the Pistons during the 2003–04 season. Woodson went on to serve six years as head coach of the Atlanta Hawks, where he made the playoffs his last three seasons and his 206 career wins rank fourth-best in Hawks franchise history. He subsequently spent three seasons as head coach of the New York Knicks, where he reached the playoffs twice and secured the Atlantic Division title.
  8. I totally agree we are the equivalent of Nebraska football but I don’t agree it would take a Coach Self or Coach Cal to come in and win. Tom Crean is a prime example of that. He won 2 conference titles and went to 2 Sweet 16s in the span of like 4-5 years. He was an average to above average coach. If he was great or HOF caliber, he wouldn’t have ended up at Georgia, fired, then an ESPN analyst. That’s why I’m so frustrated with Woodson. On paper, he’s won some of the highest achievements as a college player, NBA player, and NBA coach. He was taught under Knight and has successfully won recruiting battles for highly-ranked out of state players. We have proven shooters/scorers to learn from in Hulls and Cheaney. We have 3x former 5-stars (Ware, Mac, Malik) 2x of them former burger boys (Ware, Mac) a 6th year senior and a true senior as our back court and captains. Maybe I’m ignorant but that should be enough to be a tournament caliber team.
  9. Is he serious?! Im sorry but if you’re incapable of answering a simple question for local journalists/fans about a persistent issue, then don’t expect 17,000 cheering at Assembly, donations to NIL collectives, traveling to neutral site venues like Vegas, Atlanta, and the Bahamas. Also, feel free to return your million dollar annual raise since you haven’t earned a single cent for it and apparently can’t justify your own decisions.
  10. If only our staff had an off-season to address this!
  11. I can handle losing, but I can’t handle losing in such an embarrassing fashion. Every single game on neutral/away floor against a decent team we get run out of the gym. We all knew we lacked perimeter scoring, but the careless turnovers, poor FT shooting, poor basketball IQ/senseless decisions (X, Mac) and poor intensity and effort (especially on the glass) should not be this bad this late in the season. I said it already but tonight further proves my argument that we’re in purgatory with this staff. I can give them the rest of the month to turn it around until for the first time ever I won’t watch games and just check the box score if we won.
  12. Because we have terrible leadership, from our coaching staff to our “captains”.
  13. Pretty sure they’ve been addressed multiple times, problem is the one in charge thinks his way is best when it clearly isn’t.
  14. What we lack in basketball IQ we more than make up for in lack of toughness and heart lol.
  15. The fact this was so predictable is really disheartening. One step forward, 2-3 steps back every week with these guys. Getting blown out by the worst team in the conference because you’re incapable of doing a single thing correct.
  16. X is such a selfish, reckless idiot. How can you call yourself a captain and nut punch someone? So happy to move on from him.
  17. Already in the danger zone 2 minutes in. Stupid turnovers, bad shots, no rebounding
  18. Hope im wrong but I can see the second half being ugly. Rutgers went into the locker room with momentum and I can’t imagine them shooting the 3 ball this bad the whole game. Plus, they are doubling our bigs and forcing us to shoot 3s, which I don’t have much confidence in beating unless Mac is getting the majority of those shots.
  19. That half was entirely on Woody’s substitution pattern and X’s turnovers. Let’s clean it up second half, Rutgers looks bad!
  20. It’s unacceptable. It happens virtually every game. Rutgers playing with far more intensity and had to burn a timeout because of it.
  21. And without fail, Woody puts in more subs than starters and kills all the momentum
  22. Very few teams I feel like I can say this but I think we have a matchup advantage at all 5 spots. Key will be taking care of the ball, smart shot selection, and playing good defense. I don’t think we win but this is as winnable of a conference game as you can draw up.
  23. Good bounce back win. X reminded us all very quickly how important he is and how “speed kills”. Im hoping having him back playing 30+ minutes completely turns the season around. This game to me was an important and friendly reminder that based on our teams’ style of play, we really need to be like last year and lean into prioritizing our defense and cleaning up the boards. I don’t love our half court offense, and the fact that we don’t rely on perimeter scoring to win games means we need to be great at other aspects of basketball like drawing more fouls/ extra free throw attempts and points off turnovers. I really hope Gunn builds off this because the aforementioned is so much easier to execute with him involved. And yea let’s learn how to rebound before Tuesday lol.
  24. When X grabbed that rebound LOL.
