  1. Quick search suggests he has gone as low as like 40 and as high as 95-100 but most of them are 60-75% confidence. I also saw that Vernon writer for Kansas say today he’s giving it a 95% confidence Mack commits with a “anything can happen last minute in recruiting” warning.
  2. He was wrong with his Ledlum prediction but more vibes to Kansas unfortunately.
  3. Just trying to manage expectations lol. It could very well be that all of them are placing a prediction based on a single persons intel (which is likely coming from Shay, the Kansas writer). That said, seems they are confident enough with that intel to log a prediction 2 days sooner than they need to.
  4. Hate to kick a dog when it’s down but I just noticed an IU rivals reporter logged a pick to Kansas. So it’s seems rather unanimous the smoke is Kansas.
  5. I think Duke had more forwards/wings than Kansas but I don’t really understand reopening your recruitment for more playing time/larger role when Kansas is arguably just as competitive. You can only start 5, so realistically: -KJ Adam’s get benched, or transfers because of Mack -Mack comes off the bench (why not stay at Duke then lol) -One of Nick Timberlake (senior transfer), Elmarko Jackson (5 start freshmen) or Arterio Morris (former 5 star soph) comes off the beach.
  6. FWIW, one of those was from a Rivals writer for Kansas. It’s behind a paywall but I think he made a thread saying the same person who gave him good intel with Hunter Dickinson is giving him similar news with Mack. But yes, a source can get good intel one day and bad intel the other. Who knows, Zion, arguably the biggest recruit in that class that year had most people thinking he was Clemson bound.
  7. It pains me to admit Ive become way too invested in this recruitment. But I actually feel much better about this after doing some digging: -It seems the common denominator in terms of confidence from Kansas fans is this guy Mike Vernon. He’s objectively a giant d-bag desperate for clicks and attention (see his twitter profile pic if you don’t believe me). -He speaks in giant generalizations and positions himself where he can never be wrong. He was clearly wrong when he said he doesn’t think he would take the trip to Indiana. He even says “guessing with recruiting is a dangerous game” and then writes an article today saying “my best guess…I like where Kansas stands”. Yea no duh dude, you have a 50/50 chance as of today lol. I actually cringed when I read the part where he basically says I’ve never been wrong in recruiting but at some point will. Like I said earlier, he’s positioned himself where if he’s wrong he can say this is the first time it’s ever happened, and if he’s right, we’ll he can claim he knew all along. -I’ve yet to find any social media that Hunter and Mack are friends on. FWIW, Mack is friends with Elmarko Jackson on IG(current KU player). That makes me skeptical that Hunter knows anything, and would be very on brand for Hunter to jump at a chance to get more attention. -I’ve dealt with Mike Vernon’s of the world. Projecting confidence and being the loudest person in the room doesn’t make you right, it just forces other to be a prisoner to your stupidity. All it would take is a guy like Rabby or The Daily Hoosier to just start posting positive cryptic tweets to make Kansas fans start to question their sources.
  8. Other than obviously landing an immediate impact player for next year, really want to beat out a school like Kansas. They are such an entitled fanbase.
  9. I just don’t understand the appeal with Louisville. Can totally understand and respect him going to St. Johns (local kid, Pitino has a great resume, would be the face of the program) or Kansas (Self has a great resume, talented players + facilities, etc). If I’m a one and done player, I don’t know how I can just objectively ignore how bad UL was last year. You can’t even say they lacked talent because schools like UNC and Arkansas came in and scooped the transfers up. Also, who wants to play for a guy whose team got their ass beat all season long and all he did was smile and laugh it off? If it wasn’t for this recruiting class, I feel like UL fans would be asking for Payne to be fired. Also, know that he has a close relationship with Smith but it evidently wasn’t strong enough to make him de commit from Duke and immediately follow him.
  10. https://247sports.com/Article/Asa-Newell-Indiana-Georgia-Florida-208999724/ Sounds like we are his top 2 still and likely deciding in the summer.
  11. Just my 2 cents but if I’m on the staff I’m calling Asa and Liam and seeing if either would reclass. Not getting the sense we are in good shape with anyone else in the portal currently.
  12. For anyone that wants to rewatch conference games from this year, they are available for free on YouTube. Just go to the Big Ten Network channel and go to the “videos” tab.
  13. I’m sure the pitch will be stay close to home and have the ball in your hands, because that’s all they can really sell him on. The state of St. John’s basketball isn’t great right now. They literally announced Pitino’s staff today… Also, from the article below: “There are a variety of reasons for the massive exodus. Many of the players were recruited by former head coach Mike Anderson, who has since sued St. John’s after his firing for alleged wrongful termination. The players realize that with a new coach comes a different type of coaching style and demands – something Pitino admitted himself. “We’re probably going to have to bring in 6-8 players for this basketball team and that’s going to take a lot of work.” https://www.outkick.com/the-entire-st-johns-basketball-recruiting-class-has-moved-on-since-rick-pitino-was-hired/ So yea playing time is there, but if it’s your final college basketball season, you joining the school where players are leaving in droves and taking a leap of faith that Pitino is gonna find 8 scholarship players capable of making a tournament run?
  14. I’m not as worried about St. John’s with Ledlum. They literally don’t have a roster, Pitino gutted basically the whole team and the entire incoming 2023 recruiting class decommitted.
