  1. In the mean time my Mimi's resteraunt posted this on their Facebook! Praying for the cook staff and wait staff and ownership of all resteraunt's! They are at the front lines of the economic disaster in front of us!
  2. Sorry Joe didn't mean to like but wanted the sad face. Take care and hope evreything turns out well. Had surgery a year ago for a broken metatarsal bone in my wrist so I understand what you are going through. Get well my brother!
  3. God bless you your boss and all of you on the front lines!! In the mean time, my bosses boss is piss..d we as first time telecommuters aren't feeding him the Power Point Presentations and Excel spreadsheets he is demanding? I guess in perspective, doing what is needed now to help the company come out on the other side is also important!
  4. If you are searching for something to watch, I like to use Just Watch to find it or find suggestions. https://www.justwatch.com/us
  5. So Thursday I had to go in to the Pharmacy to pick up some meds, and it seemed to me like it was business as usual?? All of the businesses seemed to have normal amounts of traffic! I guess my perception wasn't wrong, my county scored an F!!!!
  6. Social Distancing Scorecard map! I must be helping Georgia keep from getting a D because I probably am cutting out about 90 miles a day during the work week! https://www.unacast.com/covid19/social-distancing-scoreboard
  7. Ahh the problems of trying to find a one solution fits all! Not to be political but the BIG government solutions are not solutions for you or me!
  8. People, I had a somewhat friend live with me for three years plus. Only because otherwise he would have been homeless! He would utilize the emergency room like his primary doctor because they couldn't refuse him! He never paid any of his ER bills! Read somewhere, maybe here but at the begging of this I read that ER was complaining about how hypochondriacs were overwhelming ER! If you think you have symptoms, call your Primary office, or tellamed! If you don't have access to tellamed, PM me and I will give you my access! Stop overwhelming the hospitals!
  9. Ahh the days of AM radio before TV became popular!
  10. https://www.foxnews.com/world/south-africa-spain-restricting-dog-walking-amid-coronavirus-outbreak So my friend in Russia has a friend in Spain she has been talking to. She said dog walking had started to get out of hand, because neighbors without dogs were borrowing dogs to walk just so they could go outside. Said the dogs were getting walked so much they were starting to refuse.
  11. I guess there is one advantage to getting your internet through a major cell carrier that hardly anybody else in the area uses. Not as much competition for band width!
  12. Have to entertain yourself somehow with all of this lockdown!
  13. And now China has another virus starting???? https://www.foxnews.com/health/hantavirus-kills-man-coronavirus-hit-china-32-others-tested-report
  14. ^^^^^ I understand why they park in the handicapped spot!
  15. That brings back memories. Used to have a civilian job driving all over Ft. Benning in a truck. At least twice I could tell there was an Apache practicing their targeting on me. I just thought I'm glad I could help them practice.
  16. It's pretty much the same here in Georgia and I drive on a two lane highway! We probably have a few more cars. But Trucks are the majority.
  17. Praying for all involved! And here they finally decided to shut the plant down for two weeks.
  18. Actually kind of upset that this post seems to have been completely blown by!! I am talking about people at ground zero! People I communicate with on a weekly basis!
  19. There will be an end!! Talking with my vendor program manager in Wheat Ridge CO today, they have 11 direct Chinese employees. Two of them have been on lock down in WuHan, one of them I get weekly tooling updates from. They are now thinking come end of the month they will be allowed to go back to the office!
  20. Georgia Governor just ordered the closing of Bars and Clubs and also barred any gathering of 10 or more people unless they can maintain a distance of 6'. Did not lock the state down, guess I'm still going to work tomorrow. That being said even our A.... director, admitted probably within a week we will be shut down. 5 of 11 assembly lines were shut down today because of no shows. Even though the company has said they will pay 2 weeks for Virus related missed days, we all know it will be more than 2 weeks. Praying for all the people on the line that make less than McDonalds employees!
  21. I remember the first mission trip to Russia, they warned us to bring some TP with us. Turns out their TP was more like Crepe Paper than Charmin. Thankfully it's gotten a lot better over the years!
  22. Remember the story of my Grandfather who owned a pipe fitting business in Gary when the depression hit. Kept hoping it would turn around, but refused to stop paying his employees until the money ran out! Hopefully and praying we don't have a huge amount of similar stories amongst this outbreak, but I have my doubts.
  23. Went into town today because I needed to pick up a med at the pharmacy and send out a care package at the post office. Here in rural Georgia it seemed like everything was business as usual, including being able to find TP?? Ended up having to go a second time because when I went to open up a can of my survival food, the can opener didn't work! Uff DA!
  24. There was a story about some statisticians and engineers investigating the damages done to returning aircraft during WW2 in order to try and figure out how to increase the survivability of planes. Finally a pilot spoke up and said you people are idiots, you are only looking at the planes that made it back! I'm go ing to give IUFLA credit for the story because I believe he posted it elsewhere! (correct me if I'm wrong)
  25. I live on top of one of the southernmost ripples left behind by the glaciers. It is pretty much a 400' mound of rocks with a little bit of dirt on top. I have three sink holes in my yard, the biggest being about 8' across and about 3' deep at the deepest point. When I mow I have a self sharpening blade because of all the rocks in my yard. And yet because of the local in the woods with several islands of trees in the yard, when I get done it's probably the best looking yard I ever had. Still have to figure out how to control the sink holes though! Not a green thumb in spite of my grandfather being dean of botany at Wisky.
