I don't have an issue with Cupps. He wasn't supposed to be a starting PG as a Freshman. I also think he would do alright in a different type of systemic set up. If we keep him around for 4 years, he will contribute.

Somebody has to get fired for this year. If Woodson is going to get another chance (and I think he will), I am forcing him to fire Hunter at the very least.

The team that Penn State last beat in Bloomington is eerily like this one. Got a 1st round draft pick and enough talent to be better than we are but..... The scheme is broken, the correct off season moves (that everyone saw were needed) were not made, and here we are.

And any media person not afraid to lose their credentials should have followed up that statement with a question like, "Given that, do you wish you had a do over on not filling the 13th scholarship?" IU media are kind of cowardly down the line though.

I think the sport in general allows too much contact in the post. For instance, I will rag on a play involving one of our guys here. I think it was the Illinois game where Reneau caught the ball in the post and full on slammed into one of their guys 3 or 4 times before putting up a shot (which he made). They said it was good, tough Big Ten basketball and I was thinking that on the road he is lucky it wasn't an offensive foul. The amount of contact that college allows in the post ugliest up the game IMO. Everybody is fouling everyone down there, often egregiously, on every play.

Put the Purdue fan take in there too. I know people go after Edey about the 3 second call quite a bit but this to me is what he gets away with every game. An elbow to the head is what according to the rulebooks?

Forget that, that skips the most basic of questions, how do you align that with forcing someone to go to a certain school? This is supposedly still a bunch of academic entities. I think if you are to that point that the schools would have to completely separate the athletic department from the school. And I would hope at some point all the eggheads would look at each other and ask just WTF they are doing.

Camera angles and bald will do that to you too. Mullins has quite a head of hair.

So I had things going on last night and had to record the game. I haven't been able to watch it yet but have two thoughts: 1. Nice to get back in the W column and more importantly, 2. I saw that Leal had a really good game and I could not be happier for that guy. He has done nothing but come in and do what he has been asked for 4 years. Glad to see him get an opportunity after all that hard work and also glad to see that the opportunity was taken advantage of. I hope the kid goes on a tear to end the year. He represents what I used to love about college athletics that we really don't get much of a chance to see anymore.

That cat is out of the bag. The schools aren't even technically supposed to have any hand in the NIL stuff so what are they hitting them for? You aren't allowed to introduce them to these collectives? Too little, too late.

So this is a game where if we lose I will probably be a little more irritated then the previous few.

All of that reads to me like a big WTH were they thinking hiring a 62 year old coach for his first college coaching gig. Like those should have been interview type of questions. To me you hire a 62 year old NBA guy to win now, not learn on the job.

If that is the case you don't go out and hire a 62 year old coach....
