Banks has filled in OK, but we're not the same team without Mbako on the floor.

"Close".....my arse. Ware was fouled.

It feels like the rest of the players became a bit passive whey Trey was racking up points. We need to step up the intensity down the stretch.

Dickinson's foul-to-whistle-ratio has to be over 3.0

Is that bald ref Dickinson's uncle or just on Dollar Bill's payroll?

I don't know if any footage of his one year at IU is available... I've never seen any...
But if you ever saw Big George rip down a rebound, dribble the length of the floor (sometimes behind the back) and finish with a behind the back pass to a teammate, or his "faux dunk" (he'd flip the ball down through the rim without making contact with it because dunking was illegal) you'd never forget it... 6'7 dudes just didn't do that back then...
Robin Miller used to tell some hilarious stories about George as a football player. Once he was rushing the punter and, with his speed and power, he literally picked the punter (with ball) up and carried himinto the end zone. I remember a game atMSA when Mac smashed into the goal support and it took a half an hour to move it back into place. "Baby Bull" was one of his nicknames.

Big Mac is a big reason I became an IU fan. One of my biggest heros as a kid. When he left the Pacers for the 76'ers he got overshadowed by Dr.J IMO.
To those too young to have watched him play, I suggest watching some videos and marvel at that unique, one-handed shot.

Missed the game live and viewed the dvr replay last evening. Man, the first 10 minutes were impressive! Then came the platooning subs and the drop off was profound - it was like amateur hour. Obviosly no boost to be expected from backup guard play, but the front court subs (looking at you Sparks) were KeystoneCop bad. The starters never really mattered after that. Maybe this alleged sickness was a factor? IDK.
- It's inexplicable how Woodson and company could think we were anything but lacking from the backcourt personnel perspective. Truthfully, we probably fooled ourselves thinking XJ was going to be the savior - he was unspectacular last season before getting injured and was about the same this season thus far. Hopefully he blossoms eventually.
- Subbing. Our play goes down the tubes when the "shift change" comes in. Our opponent always seems able to capitalize. Virtually EVERYONE sees it.
- This was a yardstick game and exposed that we are, once again, too flawed to really fight the big dogs. We'll be OK in the B10 because there are no real elte level teams there.
- If you can't build a complete team/roster, what's the point of bringing in one-and-dones from HS or the portal? Ware has been magnificent, but with no backcourt talent, his lone season here will mean little. If he and Mgbako go, we're right back to square one.
On an optimistic note, we did start the game impressively and we're 2-0 in the league (for the first time in a long time). IMO we can count on what the front court starters do. Hopefully somebody steps up and we see improvement from the other guys.
P.S. Jimmy Dykes blows.

Really need XJ back & healthy, if for no other reason than we need 3 guys that can be ball handlers. Ideally he'll return and start playing like he did a yaer and a half ago.

Going to say this before I forget to mention. Walker seems to do so many things right. Quiet addition in the offseason that has shown us once again the staff knows what they are looking for.
And just a couple of weeks ago he was a BUM! 😆

It was hilarious to me watching the press conference and seeing how he was answering the reporters questions...he definitely had a little Bob Knight vibe going on.
I was going to post something quite similar. He's no-nonsense with a hint of hard-ass. These are good traits for a football coach, IMO.

This may be the best I've ever felt to have missed on a top recruit.

Sounds like he hasn’t been told anything one way or the other by that statement.
Dolson should have said: "Would you like me to call an Uber for you?"

Reneau has definitely improved from the FT line.

Woodson has to change his philosophy and the type of players he is recruiting. If he doesn't he won't last to much longer because no one will want to play this style
I don't know about everyone else, but I don'twant to watch this style.
