  1. I've met a few Boston's like that... The boxer we had, Bre' would strike the "show pose" once in a while, I guess out of habit...she was a striking brindle... She had 3 levels for human/other animals...love (she absolutely loved our family...my youngest was a baby, and she lorded over her like it was her pup), toleration, or intense hatred (which unfortunately included all cats)... There was a guy who lived across from us in base housing that she hated...she would lunge to the end of her leash everytime she saw him...he got drummed out of the USAF for looking at kiddie porn on his work computer... Funny how dogs know...
  2. I noticed that too...his assist to turnover ration is like 1/2 last year and 1/1 for his career, so I wouldn't want to rely on him at PG... I think Meechie Johnson is their PG of the future anyway...either that or Justice Sueing will play point forward like he did a lot last year... But you can never have enough experienced veteran shooters...
  3. You don't think at least some of that ranking is derived from who his father is? I don't know whether he's a good player or not, because like most of the prospects touted here all we see is a 3 minute highlight reel from a 30+ minute game. I saw LeBron's meltdown over an announcer in an AAU game saying something about he got a call because the building is named after his father...can you imagine what he'd be like in a fishbowl like IU? As far as the "hater" label, I'll just say this...I rooted for LeBron and the Cavaliers when he returned there after his Miami stint...some of his actions since that time I don't agree with. Is he a "good guy" as you say? I've seen him do some good things off the court and I admire that...but I don't know him, and you don't either...so I don't know if he's a good guy or not... As for his son, I feel sorry for him. I don't think he's a Jeffrey Jordan, but I'm pretty sure he'll never approach the status of his father as a player...but some people will expect that... All things considered, I think he should wait until the one and done rule is repealed and go straight to the league. Any high profile college he attends will provide a very hot spotlight, and I don't think he needs or deserves that... Go to the league where the expectations won't be there immediately. Learn under the wing of his father. I'm sure LeBron has enough sway over Jeanie Buss and the Lakers to swing that...
  4. Link How much does Tom Brady make in endorsements? Even though Brady’s one of the most recognized names in sports (and considered the G.O.A.T. of NFL QBs), he’s never been a huge moneymaker when it comes to endorsements. Forbes currently estimates that his endorsement deals for brands like Under Armour, Sam Adams, Foot Locker and Tag Heuer bring in just $12 million a year. Link II Manning remains one of the world’s most marketable athletes as he also made huge money off the field. He endorses many major global brands including Nike, Buick, Papa Johns, and DirecTV. He also has affiliations with Sony, ESPN, Spring, Master Card, and Gatorade. In addition, he also owns 32 Papa John’s pizza stores located in Colorado and earns over $25 million a year in endorsements alone. So, who knows?
  5. 1st Team all Sun Belt guard... One of my peers is a Louisiana Lafayette alum (played football there) and says he's a pretty good shooter...
  6. Trouble in the Windy City... Let the purge begin...
  7. Mr Bündchen's wife makes enough money that he doesn't have to partake in such loutish activities... 😁
  8. Mile used to talk about Copper River salmon...miss that guy... Costco occasionally has it at a pretty good price...
  9. The rich get a little richer...Cedric Russell, 6'2 guard from the University of Louisiana Lafayette (17 ppg and 40% from 3) transfers to Ohio State
  10. Yep, prep schools... IF they can get the prep schools to play against "professional players" as the article mentions...there might be some ramifications if they do...
  11. I think that's the way I'd do it...Coho is thin, so I wouldn't leave it to sear too long... I always do both Coho and Sockeye on cedar planks on the grill...Like the smoky flavor it gives...
  12. And to be clear, Kareem didn't force a trade to be on a team with other superstars...that first Laker team he was on had HoFer Gail Goodrich, an over the hill Cazzie Russell, and not much else... I think at UCLA he got used to the LA lifestyle and wanted to go back... Either that or he thought Sam Gilbert was still around...
  13. One of the best dogs we ever had was a female boxer that was a former show dog. The breeder gave her to my middle daughter...she was beautiful, smart, protective of our family, and definitely an alpha female...
  14. Davante Jones (transfer from Coastal Carolina) might ba a one to one swap with Smith, but asking a freshman to replace Chaundee Brown's off the bench scoring, defense, and leadership will be asking a bunch...Michigan lost over 42 ppg production from last year...that'll be tough to make up... Iowa definitely lost a lot, but I think Keegan Murray is going to blossom into a star, and they do have some experience coming back with Bohannon, both McCaffery kids, Joe Toussaint, and Tony Perkins...add 6'9 transfer Filip Rebraca (17 ppg at North Dakota) and I think they'll be ok. They're not going to challenge for the B1G title, but I think 5th is a realistic ceiling for them.
  15. It's been a weird summer here in Southeast Texas... For about the whole months of June and July, it's been cooler than usual...high 70s low 80s when normally it's mid 90s this time of year...but it's rained almost every day too...a lot more than the previous 7 years we've been down here...
  16. I'd forgotten how many Andy Griffith fans we had on this forum... Bet you had a thing for Clara Edwards...😉
  17. They could make the hands slap, but it'll never match this one...
  18. I think you're right about Ohio State, but Michigan is trying to replace 2 2nd Team all B1G selections (Wagner and Livers) and 2 solid rotation guys (Brown and Smith) with freshmen and transfers. Dickinson got a lot of room to operate inside because of the Wolverines abundance of good outside shooters, and while I like Eli Brooks, he can't make up for 3 over 40% 3 point shooters by himself. I expect to see Mr Dickinson have a lot of company in the post this year. I truly see us battling with OSU and Purdue for the top 3 spots. We're not reliant on freshmen for our depth any more. I think we'll be pretty good. I also think Maryland, Michigan, and Michigan St fight it out for 4th, and Iowa, Rutgers, and Northwestern are better than Wisconsin or Illinois... Nebraska had another total roster turnover. They do have the McGowans kid and his 5 star brother, but lack depth and experience. So I'd say they'll battle with PSU and Minnesota for the bottom 3 slots...
  19. I believe he's referring to the Andy Griffith episode where we find out the one thing Aunt Bee can't do in the kitchen...jar pickles... "Taste like kerosene"
  20. That's what we always called it...Mercurochrome...or methylate...
  21. One of the "selling points" when the DH was implemented in 73 was that it would keep the older stars, like Mays and Aaron, around longer... Anyone that saw Willie Mays in a Mets uniform would tell you he probably needed to go to the AL like Aaron did and just hit...
