  1. BTW, "Macho Man" was a minor leaguer for both the Cardinals and the Reds before he started wrestling...
  2. I'd say most of the time it's the optimism factor. If you think your team is going to be in the hunt for a playoff spot, you're going to be a buyer. If not, your a seller. Takes time during the season to determine that. Also, the urgency on both sides to negotiate in earnest isn't going to be there until the deadline for both buyers and sellers. If you're trying to shed payroll, you're asking price is coming down the closet the deadline gets.
  3. What's with the Reds and all the Italians? Cincy a big mafia town, is it? 😉
  4. It's Mark James who won a championship at Ben Davis and now coaches at Perry Meridian...
  5. 😀 Wooden was in the Martinsville class of 1928... This coach graduated in 1973...
  6. That Martinsville class of 1973 produced Moriarity, who is in thfr Indiana High School football HoF, but it also produced a Indiana High School basketball HoF coach... Any guesses who that might be?
  7. LOL...When I first read that, for some reason my mind substituted the word "fishing" for "watching" and I was gonna say, "You go, Ahab!"
  8. Was that the History Channel show "Titans Who Made America"? They talked about the Hoover Dam and Henry Kaiser...amazing feat of engineering...
  9. I wouldn't have traded Darvish for starters...
  10. First day back to work, and I parked next to one of the new, mid-engine Corvettes...red, which isn't a favorite color, but it was super sharp...not as cool as a 63 split window coupe, but pretty awesome...
  11. I've told this to @btownqb... Went to school with Mo. He was 2 classes ahead of me. Tough, tough dude... I saw him knock 2 guys into one of those old accordion steam heaters during summer workouts in the wrestling room...
  12. They're all kids to me 😁
  13. I hated playing on your baseball field...if I remember right, about a 10-12 foot high chain link fence. And always seemed to have a "high sky." I played left field out there and you couldn't see the ball come off the bat.
  14. Toyotas are great vehicles if you like reliability and fit and finish... But I simply cannot believe how far they lag in convenience technology...I bought my wife a 2020 Tacoma and the cruise control is still on a little stalk under the wiper control? There's no "Auto" setting for headlights? And their entertainment interface, Entune, is the worst I've ever seen. Thank God they finally went to Android Auto and Apple Carplay...
  15. Yes they did... I remember it well... I was working at a door and window factory in NE Indy. Metal quonset hut building of about 8,000 sq feet heated by 2 tiny heaters, one at each end. It was miserable. If you happened to hammer a finger, you didn't feel it til you warmed up.
  16. I know the area well. Had a girlfriend that lived in a trailer park over that way. We lived in the duplexes right across 31 from Kroger...
  17. Graduated from Franklin Community high school 1975, but went to Martinsville High School for my first 3 years...
  18. I go back tomorrow... I wonder how that bag of dried figs I left in my bottom desk draw is doing...
  19. Just missing me today, but the last 3 weeks it's been a daily occurrence...
  20. Illinois The law in Chicago states that you may not eat in a place that's on fire... Well that greatly cuts down on the choices nowadays, eh?
  21. Kinda like James Hardin... A little chunky, was popular in Texas, and has some game...
  22. What ESPN talking heads think the Cubs will do at the deadline Color me skeptical...
