  1. I did too...saw times where he looked like an all Big 10 player...other times he just flat stunk it up... The talent is there, but he's wildly inconsistent, and once he starts pressing, it's over...
  2. F-35...nice. Hard to tell the difference from an F-22 unless you can see the single engine...
  3. Yep...no alumni, no regional appeal...just scouts and people who don't like reality shows or infomercials... Sponsors aren't going to be sponsors long if they're not getting a return on their investment...
  4. Very nice! When you going to get that IFR ticket?
  5. But what was the launch angle/exit velocity? That's what counts, you know... 😉
  6. Maybe that HoFer needs to start thinking about going into his 5 year waiting period...
  7. I could always tell whether an ATCer knew his craft by listening to how they used an aircraft's callsign...if they started with the actual aircraft type, like "Cherokee" or "Navajo" (PA31 😉), they knew what they were doing...if they addressed them with the generic "November" I had my doubts... I took the time to learn them when I first got into the field...
  8. I'd imagine they have specific routes in and out of Lakeland for both IFR and VFR? I ask because when I worked at Chicago ARTCC we did the automation/routes for Oshkosh...Those fellas had to go waaaaay around C90 (the tracon that works O'Hare traffic)...they made them go way west of Rockford, or come in from the southeast/northeast of South Bend...
  9. Grissom was supposed to be my first duty station after tech school...Had my orders, but 6 weeks before graduation they switched me to Scott AFB in southwestern Illinois...That's where I met my wife, so it was lucky for me... As for aviation, it's been my life for over 40 years...Nothing like sitting on the gazebo behind the Eglin RAPCON and seeing F-16s light up the afterburners on takeoff around dusk... @Drroogh mentioned C-130s...I rode on a C-130 courtesy of the 109th ANG out of Schenectady, NY (loved those guys...the first thing they'd unload when they got to Sondrestrom was a couple of pallets of Genesee Cream Ale and beer) with skis instead of wheels on a trip out to one of the old DEW Line sites when I was in Greenland...
  10. I read the ESPN article on it, and they said OTE was "well funded." But "well funded" only lasts so long if there's no revenue coming in...What will be their revenue source?
  11. Here's another one that she posted back a few weeks ago...
  12. Yes...That's the guy she rescued...You can see he's a little gimpy on his left front...But he's very smart, and very happy...You can see how fast he picked up kicking that ball around...And the vet says he's in pretty good health for the conditions he came out of... I'm proud of my daughter because it meant more than money to her to get him out of there...Very selfless thing she did...
  13. My daughter posted this to tiktok a while back...and they were going to send this magnificent guy to slaughter... https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMJTMH5eY/
  14. Excellent assessment. A lot of our fans I think wanted Archie to treat Lander like Underwood played Curbelo. Let him go out there and make mistakes while learning what it takes to be a college point guard... Archie was never going to do that with his emphasis on low turnovers and defense. Plus, he didn't have the luxury of a Dosunmu or Cockburn to make up for those mistakes. And it was a bad fit for Khristian...I think he'll be much better in a more open, free wheeling offense. I do hope he can limit the TOs and find his shot though...
  15. Louisville Male...same high school that produced Ralph Beard and Dr Dunkenstein...
  16. It has gotten too much attention... But as Carlton Fisk told Deion Sanders, there's a right way and a wrong way to play the game...as I said, any other count and I would have been ok with it, and I'm sure LaRussa would have been as well... The Twinks did take a shot at Mercedes the next day...and rightfully so...
  17. So Tony LaRussa got a case of the RA for one of his hitter swinging at and hitting a HR when the Sox were up by 11 runs in the ninth on a 3-0 count and a non-pitcher throwing... In the old days that would have gotten you one between the shoulder blades next time you were up, but a lot of the Sox players are backing the kid... Any other count than 3-0 I'm with them, but I gotta say Tony's right on this one...
  18. No one has mentioned The Monitor yet...
  19. One day the ESPN headline will read... "Cubs Get a Hit in Win!"
  20. Sure...anytime. They are fun to be around. But it is a commitment. Even when my wife and I were down with covid we had to go out and do the barn work and take care of them. That was a long 3 weeks...
