  1. I agree... I think a lot of people know only the Celtics version of Larry Legend. The ISU version was great. Those years were special.
  2. When we use words out of context, they lose their true meaning... Hating someone or something "just because" makes absolutely no sense to me. And I said those to who answered, I could appreciate where they were coming from... I hate the Mets, but I at least justify it...
  3. Maybe I don't swing the word "hate" around like some do... I can see people disliking Brady for more than a few reasons...But I don't think "just because" is ever a reason at least to me... I asked a simple question to people FROM Indiana about hating one of their own... @IU Scott, @Billingsley99, and @Rev_AK gave me their answers based on what team they rooted for at the time, and I can appreciate that...
  4. Yes, I suppose "just because" is justification when using a powerful word like "hate."
  5. "The Great White Hope/Hype"? As you said, that's not what he wanted to be...So I can't understand the hatred from that angle... I think #1 that was proven wrong simply by watching his play and the respect he eventually garnered with African-American players. #2 if people really understood the Celtics (the organization itself, not the city of Boston) history relating to race they might think a lot differently... He was a small town Indiana kid that made the basketball HoF...I just can't hate that...
  6. Yes, welcome... My wife and I both had it back in January...Both of us felt pretty poorly for 3 weeks...Yes, it does suck... But we have the conflict in our own house...I'm getting my first Moderna shot Monday because I'd take 20 shots not to feel that way again, and my wife refuses to even consider getting the shot because of her distrust of this particular vaccine...
  7. Yeah, David, the current Reds manager, and Mike both played MLB. And yeah, Ray Boone was a pretty good infielder in the 40s and 50s
  8. I don't know what it is about Texas roads/drivers, but...
  9. Same way I feel when I see Gus Bell's 1964 baseball card...
  10. Additionally, Settles would be considered homely even on the Purdue campus...
  11. I think it's like this... If his full name is "Clifton" then Clif is correct... If his full name is "Clifford" it can still be correct if you don't give a "f"
  12. If you can get up to Chicagoland, go to Arlington...Great place to watch REAL Thoroughbred racing...not this quarter horse sprint stuff...
  13. Let us know. I'm getting my 1st Moderna shot later this week...
  14. Horse racing Houston style...recorded this a couple of years ago... 20190504_164438~2.mp4
  15. So every year we were in Chicagoland, we'd go to Arlington on Derby Day...We'd always get restaurant tickets and have a few drinks and bet all of the races there at Arlington and the Derby itself...Great way to spend the day... Going to Sam Houston Race Park this year for it...The run Quarter horses which isn't as exciting to me (it's essentially a sprint down the front stretch), but we get restarant tickets for there too, and my wife is entering the Hat contest... If you have a racetrack near, it's a great way to watch the Derby and lose money!
  16. Saw Def Leppard in St Louis October, 1989 with LA Guns...I'd just escaped Greenland and our neighbors took us as a welcome home gift... They were great neighbors
