  1. Hats off to both of you. I was never a "cat guy" til we moved here...Love our barn cats... BTW, the horse we found was picked up by the Sherriff Tuesday. If no one claims him in 10 days, my wife wants to pay all of the fees and get him back...
  2. With all the Illini are already losing, defections by the Puerto Rican kids he helped recruit to Champaign would leave them barren... No tears here...
  3. Kopp's "high basketball IQ" shot Northwestern right out of a few games last year. As I've said on more than a few posts, his shot selection was terrible a lot of times, especially if he was missing early. I saw Jerome operate inside effectively more that a few times. Not only on post ups, but running the baseline. And as the year went along, Jerome got much better on especially on the ball (and I will concede that I think Kopp is a better team defender...I saw Jerome lost on defense more than once, particularly at the beginning of the year)... And yeah, it's a matter of opinion...And as I said, Woody will be the final arbiter...
  4. Very difficult to compare 2 players on different teams...As I said, their minutes and roles are different, and that's all based on the personnel around them and how deep a team is at their position... Shooting aside, I think Jerome is a better rebounder, better inside player, and a marginally better defender...I don't think either player is an especially good (or willing for that matter) passer... I'll say this...now that they are on the same team, the only opinion that will count will be Mike Woodson's...
  5. Me too...I always thought that might be Anthony Leal as an upperclassman...
  6. Good thing you're not working with Shitakes...
  7. Yeah, I acknowledged that in a subsequent post...
  8. I stated above I thought Audige, Nance, Beren, and Ryan Young all played better than Kopp last year... I thought for the most part during Northwestern's 13 game losing streak he shot 37% overall and 25% from 3...And yes, he (and Boo Buie) shot them out of a few of those games...
  9. No one is saying (at least I'm not) that we don't want Kopp...I think maybe the change of scenery, offense, and recovery from whatever his finger issues are could lead to him being a valuable piece...But I do think Jerome Hunter is as good, if not better, option at this point...
  10. How many times did you watch them? Stats can show some things, but not everything... He was NW's 2nd leading scorer, but he was also 6th among players who averaged double digit minutes in FG percentage...6th among NW players who shot more than 57 3s in 3 point percentage...He launched a lot of shots...THAT is how he was the 2nd leading scorer on the team... I guess if were saying ANY starter on a B1G team is "one of the best on the team" you and @KoB2011would be correct... Watching them, Audige, Nance, Beren, and Young all played better basketball in my opinion...
  11. I guess since the basketball Gods tabbed him to foul Slick, they made it up to him with Fred Brown and Chris Webber...
  12. Rereading, I see what you're saying, but even that is debatable for last year...
  13. LOL...Smith and BH Born were the only 2 names I knew from that Kansas team... I knew Clyde Lovelette (another Terre Haute guy) had graduated the year before when the Jayhawks won the tourney...
  14. Was Dean Smith on that Kansas team? I think so...I'll go with him...
  15. The minutes and expectations for Miller Kopp versus Jerome Hunter were quite different...
  16. His sophomore season you might have been able to make that case, but last year? I'm not sure how many Northwestern games you watched last year (I watched probably 12-15), but he had more bad games than he had good...No way he was one of the best players in the B1G... And, as I said, maybe the offensive woes had to do with the hand...and as @ledies22 mentioned, he's not even a good rebounder or defender...
  17. "March, and it's time to cut down the nuts!"
  18. I just sincerely hope that some of our freshmen from last year aren't collateral damage in all this shuffling...
  19. Oh, and Ryan Young from Northwestern...
  20. Harrar (PSU) is in the transfer portal... I'd add Zed Key and/or Brunk to OSU
