Tommy Lasorda "appeared" in an All-Star game as a manager and had an 0-4 as a pitcher in his major league career, but I'm thinking that's not what you're looking for...

Yes, that's really funny...🙄
Keep politics out of here and no one will say a word...

How many of these "end of the world viruses" have we had in the last 10 years or so? Ebola? H1N1? Sars? Countless probably. It is spreading for sure. But I see no need for panic by the masses. No offense, but if you are that concerned just stay home and isolate yourself from the general public. Â
Call me when they reach a pandemic like "Project Blue" in "The Stand."

True...some are at capacity right now. So, if we have a spike, as some medical folks believe we will, what happens then? It's the sheer numbers that have people concerned.

I plan on staying overnight in a hospital twice...first time, I had a tiny wristband on...second, I'll have a toe-tag...
Richard Pryor said it best...
"A hospital ain't no place to get better."

I saw the Surgeon General today on the tube...he threw out that 1% number.
Threw out as in said it was wrong, or just threw out the info?
I was going by reported world wide cases (124,968 cases and 4585 deaths = .03% and in the US 1109 cases and 31 deaths = .027%)...

You know, to be honest, I'm not worried about this at all...
Mortality rate is less than 1% so far...if I get sick, I get sick...but I'm not gonna change my life for it...I would stay home if I did get sick, just out of compassion for others...
Maybe that's said with the shortsighted view of someone who has more days behind them than they do in front of them, but that's how I feel...

Two from my Dad...
On a dishonest person: "he'd rather climb a tree and tell a lie than stand on the ground and tell the truth."
On work: "the world doesn't want to hear about the labor pains, they just want to see the baby."

Best Steakhouse in your State
Are North Dakotans so deprived of steak they have a friggin "Longhorn Steakhouse" as the best? Really? What? They don't have a "Ponderosa"?
And though Pappas Steakhouse is damn good, it's far from the best steakhouse in Texas...
They did get Oklahoma right simply by not naming the overrated "Cattleman's" down in the old stockyard as the best...

Looks like you guys are going to a NASA concert...geez, I thought you said rodeo? No cowboy hat? No cowboy boots. Hell no big belt buckle!
Figure I might wear a string tie just to fit in...
I don't wear any of the regular Texas garb you mention above...my neighbor says I'm the reverse of the old saying...
"All cattle, no hat."

It is really more than that. The media/press "sensationalize" everything in this day and age. It just isn't the national guys either, the local media does their fair share.
They're only playing to a segment of their audience...
We had "Drama Queens/Kings" when I was growing up, but not nearly in the volume I see today...
Everything is offensive to some, scary to others, and I think the fact that through social media, you can say whatever you want, and take no real responsibility for it is the reason...in my day, gripe and complain if you want, but it was at your peril, too...
In Martinsville when I was growing up, if you started shooting your mouth off, someone was going to call you on it...you had to put up, or shut up...
The Paper Tigers of the internet age know they can just about say anything without repercussion...
And the media plays to that...

Feel sorry for those who've passed, but the press is making this a panic...an estimated 56,000 die annually from the flu...
That said, I have developed a hand washing compelsion (as Barney Fife would say)...
I hate being sick...

I tried Gumballhead and Zombiedust for the first time this past summer...I recognized your Gumballhead avatar ha. I thought Zombiedust was overrated from all I heard about it in years past, but thought Gumballhead was quite good. I also drink Michelob Ultra as my regular beer.
Â
Never tried Zombiedust, always wanted to try Dark Lord (sold one day a year) but not going to pay an exorbitant price or stand in line for it.
80 Acre is the closest tasting wheat beer to Gumballhead. But still not the same...

Right on all accounts. Local St. Louis people sometimes call the city the Lou. A Ribfest is a rib cook off.Â
Do you ever compete at the Ribfest in Naperville, Il?
-
Love Gumballhead and Robert the Bruce 3 Floyd's in Munster, In.
Can't get either down here in Texas...
So I go with 80 Acre from Boulevard Brewing, Edmund Fitzgerald from Great Lakes Brewery, Left Hand Milk Stout from left Hand Brewery in Colorado...
Stick with Michelob Ultra as a go to
