I agree… you put his defensive skill set on teams best players last year then that takes JHS and his skill set to the second best guard and it’s a whole different situation IMO. Dribble drives and kick outs for open threes don’t happen as often because X can stop that from happening… especially against Miami

The problem is the remaining spots need to be grad transfers…. Sparks, Knecht, Ware all have eligibility left correct? With that being said I would assume that Ware intends to be a one and done here? edit: I just looked it up. Knecht has 1 year left and Ledlum actually has 2 years because Harvard didn’t play during 2020 Covid season.

Yes I think if anyone can get him motivated it’s coach woody. I think he’s gonna get that respect that Altman probably never earned. The difference of TJD pre woody vs this year was beyond what I could’ve hoped for motor wise

Can anyone let me know who Ware comps to and what he exactly will bring to the table? Is he basically going to play same role as TJD? If so that’s confusing because I thought Woodson said he wanted to get away from that.

I’ve seen Simeon play multiple times and they are the real deal. On back to back nights they beat top 10 Xavier Booker and his Cathedral team by 13 then beat top 5 Justin Edwards and his Imhotep team 53-51. They frustrated Justin Edwards and at least for that night he wasn’t even top 100. I wasn’t impressed at all. That could’ve just been Simeon being that good.

Illinois doesn’t play with a shot clock but some tourneys in Illinois did use them this year. So Simeon possibly did play with one if they were in one of those tourneys… the one down here they did not play in but it made the holiday tournament insanely better.

Are there any concerns about taking multiple transfers with 2 years or more of eligibility left? 24-25 has loads of potential and curious how IU will navigate that
