  1. Iā€™m skeptical but I would be excited if true.
  2. I definitely agree with you about hiring a coach from a smaller school. My two top picks at this time are Herman and Candle. Candle is a little more of a risk in my opinion, because he has only been at Toledo and inherited a winning culture, although he has certainly sustained it for 7-8 years now.
  3. San Diego State is about to hire Sean Lewis it seems like.
  4. My wife's dad almost took a job and moved their family to Toledo in the 90s. šŸ¤£
  5. I understand that. I just don't believe he is qualified to take over as head coach at a P5 school at this time.
  6. Sadly, this may be true. But..just gotta do the best you can with the hand you are dealt and hope for the best.
  7. I would not take a chance on someone as head coach who at the very least was not a proven OC/DC. Going from OC/DC to head coach is a big jump. Going from a position coach to head coach....that is just a monumental leap. In my opinion, the odds of that succeeding is extremely small. Now, if they are interviewing him for a OC position, that is an entirely different ballgame. It would strike me as odd though if they are interviewing for coordinator positions without a head coach (assuming they haven't made a decision on that).
  8. Weaver is reporting that Hart is interviewing, not some random anonymous person on a message board.
  9. I must say I am a little confused. I thought Dolson wanted someone with head coaching experience...and he is interviewing Mike Hart who hasn't risen to OC yet? He might be a great coordinator/coach someday, but that seems like a huge jump from running backs coach to head coach.
  10. So I was thinking after the Bears game last night...if they hadn't had those two catastrophic collapses in the final few minutes of the Denver and Lions games....they would actually be 6-6 right now. I could easily see the Bears with a competent coaching staff at 7-5. The good news, is that I believe they will have the most attractive available head coaching opening in the upcoming off-season. 2 top draft picks, the o-line has been playing better...they still need a center, defense has been playing better, but they still need another edge rusher, and they have a legit #1 receiver for 2 more seasons under contract. Not to mention they are way under the salary cap. They definitely will need to draft/sign: center, edge rusher, probably QB, wide receiver, perhaps a corner if they don't tag/re-sign Jaylon Johnson.
  11. I could get behind Lewis and Chryst as well....provided Chryst was actually willing to make a big effort in recruiting.
  12. No worries....easy to miss the dates. I think Candle has a 750,000 buyout....maybe 650,000 now.
  13. Very similar, except I would switch Candle and Herman.
  14. I think the extensions were signed a year or two back.
  15. I really hope Herman makes it on the list. Otherwise, those names were not very enticing. Candle is the only name on that list that I would be optimistic about.
  16. Cignetti is intriguing to me as well. I honestly just haven't had a chance to read more about him yet.
  17. Assuming what some of the insiders said about Fitzgerald no longer being considered due to president veto, Tom Herman is now my number 1 pick. I could definitely get on board with him bringing Frye on as OC. I could get behind a Candle hire, but would definitely prefer Herman.
  18. Chris at BTB thinks they have been working for IU for a couple of weeks.
  19. That's all well and good, but I don't think it is appropriate to call someone out in that manner about a post made 2 years back.
