Definitely playing it out. I think Michigan, Maryland, and Auburn are all beatable. If I had to guess, I would say we go 2-2 over the next four.

While it is true that Northwestern is in the weaker of the Big Ten divisions, he took a historically poor Northwestern program to 10 bowl games in 17 seasons, including a couple of 10 win seasons. I would think with the academic requirements at NU, it would be tougher to win their than IU. I think most IU fans would be happy if he coached here for 17 seasons and we went to 10 bowl games. My opinion is that if he can do that at NU, he could do even better at IU. Despite the last couple rough seasons, he had a winning overall record at NU...when was the last IU coach who left with a winning record?

Sounds like Chryst is still possibility too and that Fitzgerald might be Dolson's choice, but not sure if Whitten will approve of that hire. That is typical IU if true...just let the athletic director do their job without interference.

My top 3 realistic choices just off of names I have seen tossed around would be: Fitzgerald, Herman, and Candle...probably in that order.

When does the portal open? I'm sure they will have someone in place before.

I am just surprised he wasn't mentioned in this article since a few folks with inside knowledge have indicated IU has reached out to Chryst already. Dan Mullen would be a good hire if he was willing to put in the effort with recruiting, which it seems he might not be. IU is definitely going to need someone hungry with an edge to them that has the charisma to recruit 3-4 star recruits well.

As much as I like and respect ARE, I’m not liking the idea of making him head coach. It seems like the kind of move that has a much more likelihood of failing than succeeding.

Hope this was Allen's last game with IU. That was a brutal defensive effort. Indiana snatched defeat in the jaws of victory.

Hope your finger is alright! Mine was not too bad....just bled for a bit. I did watch a couple videos, but not that one. I'll check it out. They make it seem easy on the videos, but it took me way longer than I anticipated. It's all good though as long as it turns out!

Just an FYI...I suck at trimming a full packer brisket. It took me like 90 minutes and a cut thumb. On a positive note, brisket is now smoking away....used pecan wood this time. I think my wife is making the rest of the dinner tomorrow...deviled eggs, mashed potatoes, rolls, homemade mac and cheese, green bean casserole, cheescake (not as fancy as @Drroogh and @IUFLAare making, and pumpkin pie. My kids were arguing over which dessert, so I believe she is making both. I'm pretty sure they knew what they were doing with that...
