Sounds like there isn't really much of a debate internally with the Bears on what they will do with their top draft pick and Fields. Biggs is really tuned in to the team, and seems to think if season ended today, Bears will have a new QB in fall.

Not sure. But definitely still ahead of the Bears.

Mahomes is coming off really, really bad with his whining on what was absolutely the right call.
Edit: yes, I get the irony with my whining about calls during the Eagles game 🤣
Yeah…I understand being frustrated about a loss, but replays show the WR was clearly offsides. I’m guessing he wouldn’t have had an issue if the defense was lined up in the neutral zone and they called it. The worst part is he seems to have double downed on his complaining after he saw replays of it. He is the beneficiary of many calls and he is coming off as a diva after this episode.

I am irritated the Bears blew those two games they had in the bag late. They could be 7-6 right now in the heart of the playoff push instead of 5-8.
At least Carolina lost again...still looking great for that #1 pick.

Colts beat themselves today....and that hold on the Moss TD was suspect. Still can and should win out.
My Bears....love what I saw from everyone not named Luke Getsy.
Jacksonville just scored down 4 and they went for 2. I'm sure someone can explain to me why I don't understand that.
I will give Flus credit on this one. Bears should have beaten Denver/Detroit (1st time) but they got ultra conservative and played not to lose. They kept applying pressure on defense today and it paid off. Maybe he is learning. They were even throwing that mid range pass that Fields had DJ wide open cutting across but overthrew it. Flus has the defense (after acquiring Sweat) well. I'm definitely not sold on keeping him yet, but the players do seem to respect him. I like him as a DC for sure.
Getsy still sucks.

It was unbelievable. Never seen anything like it. Everyone around was holding back laughter. It wasn't as funny to me because the butt was in my face.
I can't even imagine how I would react in that situation. You probably handled it better than I would have...I probably would have said "WTF" out loud.

And, for the guy in the row across the aisle that got up to stretch midway through the flight and proceeded to bend over and put his ass in my face while touching his toes, all I can say is WTF?
This just about made me spit out my drink.

Bears look great on first drive. 7-0 good guys. I am tired of the refs not calling late hits on Fields. The Detroit player jumped on him after he clearly was down and no call. This has been a recurring thing with him and late hits...it is almost like the refs don't call these late hits because he is a mobile QB....but if you are down you are down...

Sounds good. I like getting the QB first, going from there.
I'm with you on this. I will feel a whole lot better once IU gets their QB room set. I do have confidence in coach Cig to get it done.

I'm hoping IU lands Cherry and a transfer at QB.

I think Jonathan India would be a good fit for the Cubbies.
I need to brush up on the hot stove. With all the Ohtani stuff dominating the news, and Bellinger/Yamamoto to a much lesser extent, I honestly can't even remember who all is available or supposedly available via trades. I hope Cubs have something in the works. Rhys Hoskins, Glasnow, Alonso, and Chapman are the last names I remember hearing as possible signings/trades.
I hope they roll with Crow-Armstrong in center instead of overpaying for Bellinger. I like Bellinger, but some of the numbers being thrown around with him seem like way to much.

My understanding between merchandise and other things is any team that signed him would see an increase in value by at least $40M a year......so maybe the net $30M is how it plays out?
That makes sense…but it will still have them way over the luxury tax. I do wonder what the cubs backup plan is? I saw an article speculating boras wants close to 300 million for bellinger…I don’t think that is a good move. Maybe bellinger goes to blue jays now?

Ohtani. $700M to Dodgers. Wow.
Yeah…10 years 700 million. As good as he is, he’s not worth that. Isn’t 70 million a year about what some small market teams pay for their entire roster for a season?

Disappointed in this one for sure but I expect much better next week against Kansas at assembly hall.

I dunno. I think the Bears "best" scenario is that Fields shows he belongs as a NFL starter coming down the stretch and they keep him and use their 1st round picks on other pieces.
I don't disagree with you about that being the best case scenario...but I have been watching him for 3 years...and while he has made some improvements, but I'm still not convinced he is "the guy". I think he still struggles with reading a defense at an NFL level. I do think part of the problem has been the Bears OC trying to make him into a pocket passer similar to Aaron Rodgers etc., when he clearly isn't that. I think that's why it has been so difficult to evaluate him. Now, if he plays stellar in the last 5 weeks, I reserve the right to change my mind, but I am not too optimistic. If the Bears do move on from him...I wouldn't be shocked if he had some success in a different system/team.

Them and a few others. Can't wait to see the asking price for #1 pick this year. Problem for me looking forward though is this. Can you pass on Harrison Jr? Bears might only be able to move back a couple of spots max with likely order being Bears (via Carolina), Patriots, Cardinals...all 3 teams may or may not need a QB. Jets (if Rodgers is elsewhere), Giants, Commanders, all sitting at 4 wins.
This years #1 is different because there are 2-3 QB's that most teams would be happy with. Maybe not the same haul as last for the Bears considering our need to not miss on MH Jr. and best Left Tackle in the draft.
I can’t see the bears passing on drafting a qb. Brad Biggs the bears beat writer usually has good info and he even started hinting at bears are taking QB. My guess is they trade Fields for a 2nd round pick if he plays decent to end the season. Braxton jones their 5th round pick from last year has actually been doing fairly well at left tackle….I think bears need a center and another lineman for depth and they might actually have a good o-line. I do wish both their #1 picks were in top 3 so they could get qb/Marvin Harrison jr though!

So my Aunt is a little lonely and enjoys the company so a couple days a week I head to her place in the fall to do leaves. Final count this year was 117 bags. Lord I'm glad that's done.
That made my back hurt reading it.

I’m not liking all the turnovers. The team is definitely missing X. Not sure what’s up with Galloway. Feed the bigs in second half.

The financial thing is the main reason I think they will move on from him. Restart the clock. I really would love to have MHJ matched up with D.J., but I am just not completely sold on Fields yet. I could most definitely see him succeeding someplace else with a competent OC, but like you said, can the Bears gamble 40 million a year on him?
