  1. I was holding out optimism early in the season as I saw a lot of new pieces to team and figured things would improve as the season went on. After the Purdue debacle, I have thrown in the towel for the season. I wasn't a big fan of the hire, but it was more about my concern about his recruiting ability, rather than his coaching ability. Others have mentioned, he just hasn't constructed good teams, despite the talent level.

Not sure what to think right now. I am not opposed to giving him another season, but he has got to construct a better roster and show more flexibility. I put the odds at IU removing him at 0%, so I am just assuming he will be back next season.

The dirty plays needs to stop. Woody needs to definitely put an end to that nonsense.

They could…but don’t you think it’s time to be bold and get your qb/wr combo locked up for the future. Bears have struggled with both positions. You have two generational talents there for the taking. I’d be aggressive. They have xtra ammo from last years trade plus should have picks from trading Fields. They have tons of money for free agency but WRs of Harrison’s talent never get to free agency. Houston was bold last year and look how that paid off. There are only a few can’t miss prospects in each draft. Just eliminate the risk and move up and get your man.

I would not be opposed to them moving up and taking them both at all. However, I just don't think that is Poles way of thinking. I would also prefer Nabers over Odunze, but I doubt he will move up for him either....just my opinion based on how Poles drafts. He did move up for mid round picks though, so we'll see. There are so many ways this could play out for Chicago it really is interesting, and I don't think there is necessarily a right way to do it.

Bears in talks with Klif Kingsbury for OC…he is said to be the preferred candidate for Caleb Williams. All signs pointing to Bears taking qb with #1 pick.

I could see Kingsbury back at head coach by 2025 and replace Eberflus.

If Bears pull off the double and take Williams and trade Fields and get capital to move up and get Harrison….i may finally have to start watching Bears games again. Half mt family Bears fans but they haven’t forgiven me for 06.

2006 was one instance when Bears lost the big game but I wasn’t devastated because it was to the colts and I was legit happy for Peyton.

I don’t see poles moving up to nab Harrison if bears draft Caleb. My guess would be they would take Odunze with their #9.

I can't recall ever seeing a defense go from good to horrendously bad in the middle of a season.

There's been receivers running completely wide open on nearly every possession for weeks and weeks.

Whatever happened…Matt Patricia isn’t the answer. That was a mistake making him defensive coordinator in my opinion

I’m the furthest thing from a Bears fan.  I was not a fan of Fields going into the season.  But I thought he and the team showed some growth.  Do I think the Bears will go in a new direction?  Yes.  Do I think it’s a guarantee?  Personally, I don’t.  I can see the argument about adding weapons to him (including the OL) and see where they can go rather than gambling on the unknown.  Again, I can see the argument.  I’m not saying what they should or shouldn’t do.

Yeah, I don't think it is 100% that the Bears move on from Fields, but I think it is likely. I really think it will come down to if Poles and company like the mental makeup of Caleb. I don't think there is a question he has the talent, but could he thrive in Chicago, with high expectations and that media/fanbase? That is the big question. The sad thing is that Fields does have the mentality for Chicago. I do believe that if Poles thinks he could be great in Chicago, he has to take him and roll the dice. If he doesn't think he can thrive with the Bears, then he can take the kings ransom from a team and build around Fields.
