  1. Ice? Hump? I think there's a hidden code here.
  2. I was at that game, and that is when/where my wholly unhealthy hatred of Ted Valentine was born. Walking out of the arena that night, the UC fans were commenting how badly we had been screwed.
  3. Ahhh, the great but not often mentioned Horace Graham. How could we forget?
  4. Last night the showed a stat that Bohannon is among the all time leaders in made 3 pointers. It showed he had mad something like 400. Pretty sure 200 of those came against IU.
  5. I know Rob is a lightening rod among the fan base, but I spent a lot of time watching him last night, and while he didn't have his best game, he absolutely teed it up on defense. Bohannon was really frustrated.
  6. I'm not sure Lander could make up offensively what he would've given up defensively last night.
  7. That was my point as to why Lander didn't see the floor.
  8. Ironically, if you look, Carver Hawkeye was Kryptonite to Hulls. He couldn't throw it in a cornfield, when standing in Iowa.
  9. In part, because Toussaint, Bohannon and Ullis were a combined 4-20 last night.
  10. Dear Coach Woody. For the love of all things holy, please stop starting Xavier Johnson in the 2nd half of games.
  11. Is Jordan Bohannon the best ever recruit from the Tom Davis era?
  12. You bring up a point that I don't think is discussed enough. The school most definitely bears some responsibility in this. They probably need to hire new lawyers. Some who would have advised them that it's better to be sued by one family for kicking their kid out of school than by several for the murder of their children. About 15 years ago, when my oldest was in about 6th grade, he wrote a note to a friend of his that said "I'll kill you" and left it on the other kid's desk. It was seen by someone else and turned in. Both parties agreed that it was part of a stupid game they were playing, and there was no animosity. Both are still friends today. However, my son was sent home and suspended from school. I was pissed at the time, but it was the right call by the school. It either set, or followed a precedent that would allow them to protect their students going forward, it also taught my son that his actions can and will be viewed through a wider lens, and perceptions will differ. If only someone at that school would have had the stones to suspend/expel that kid, maybe this senseless act could have been avoided.
  13. BTW, when I first read this my initial reaction was "Cripes! How old do you think I am?"....then I realized the turn of the century was only 21 years ago!
  14. Some schools (albeit predominantly rural schools) have outdoor progams, and some even include shooting sports. Several schools in Southern Indiana have Trap shooting teams. My kids practiced at a range 30 minutes from school. I usually went, but I would not at all be surprised if some of those kids had their trap guns in their cars, and may/may not have parked on campus.
  15. I will say, that when I was on the farm as a teenager, I was far too tired to be "troubled"....maybe there is something to that.
  16. I really don't agree with this, it is too big of a blanket statement, but I do agree with your bigger point that it's all about parenting. One of my grandfathers had a farm. By the backdoor, there was always a LOADED shotgun that he used to protect his livestock, usually in the middle of the night. In his dining room, there were two big gun case with glass doors that contained a variety of shot guns and rifles used for hunting. My dad used to take a 22 rifle to school during rabbit season and hunt the railroad tracks as he walked home. We were raised that guns were tools, no different than a hammer or a wrench. We were most certainly schooled in gun safety, but they were not mysterious or taboo items. I wrote a college paper one time in which I believed that treating guns as items of mystery was irresponsible. I called it the "Playboy" effect. An item of mystery and taboo will be the first thing a kid goes in search of when left alone. No kid goes looking for a hammer out of curiosity. The biggest responsibility of a gun owner isn't that the gun be locked up, it's that everyone in the house is educated about the gun. I don't keep a loaded gun by my backdoor, mostly because I have no livestock to protect, but I certainly wouldn't pass judgement on anyone who does.
  17. I once asked my wife where she wanted to eat dinner for our anniversary. She said she didn't care. I took that as a sign that I could choose....apparently I also don't read signs well.
  18. I was taping the IU/UK game as I went to a High School game in Borden Indiana. I had several friends in Borden who were UK fans, so I steered clear of them during the game. Several were in a group watching the game on a phone. Suddenly one of them threw his head back and yelled "Nooooo!", so I knew something good had happened for IU, buy I had no idea until I watched when I got home.
  19. Anybody know who Tyra Buss was rooting for tonight?
  20. Looking at the box score, we shot better than them from the field, we shot better than them from 3, we had more assists than they did, and we out rebounded them. Who knew you could lose a game on free throws and turnovers.....
  21. Two Wisconsin players ended the game with 4 fouls. That got me to thinking...do you think a Wisconsin player has ever fouled out at the Kohl Center?
  22. Couple of quick points that I haven't seen made yet: We scored 55 points in the 2nd half. Anyone know when we last scored 55 in a half against a power 5 team? Geronimo look completely over-matched in the short time he was in. That needs to improve.
  23. So, losing to Syracuse....Is this the beginning of the end for Woodson?
  24. Pretty sure both announcers and a least one of the refs were also named Boeheim...
