  1. Southridge won state and Jasper won 4a.
  2. If the pacers would ever trade guys when there is no hope of a post season run we could have a cache of picks to sling around, but no. They always just finish it out and let solid rile players walk for nothing.
  3. The guys filling in for DD said they are hearing the Pacers want Thad Young back for leadership.
  4. I guess we could look at 92 vs 21 all nba teams. I think the depth of 21 may be too much to overcome. Hard to say.
  5. I like freedom day. Jubilee and Juneteenth are my least favorite names.
  6. When reading about this topic, it had had many names. Freedom Day, Jubilee Day, Liberation Day, Emancipation Day.
  7. Thats fine. I just have not been understanding some of these trade ideas. Like hey, pacers get one of the top 5 worst contracts in the league and we will take 2 of your starters and your best 3 point shooter off the bench just because the salary adds up to equal 36 mil. No. hard pass. For as bad as Pritchard has drafted, he has traded very well here and in Portland. Anyone who trades for Simmons will probably get at least 1 future 1st rounder. Which likely would be like a 25th or later pick, unless Embiid gets hurt which is likely. I just dont see the pacers as a prospect for a major trade with philly.
  8. We would have to fleece them, like an unprotected #1 and one of their prospects. your trading a 20 mil all star for a solid 36 mil a year guy.
  9. They dont need a 4. Unless they try to move Tobias Harris and his 36 million
  10. I think he started at the 5 the most but im talking about The Dream team.
  11. Okay let's play. dream team versus this year's all NBA team. Starting five versus first team Magic Jordan Pippin Barkley Ewing Luka, Kahwi, jokic, giannis, Curry. The only advantage I see is jokic versus Ewing, Ewing would not be able to step out and guard him but that's okay cuz you can bring David Robinson in off the bench or Karl Malone. The mailman would just come in and break his forearms like Popeye the sailor Man. I don't see this extreme athletic discrepancy that some of you guys are fantasizing about. I think we tend to remember the latter years of a player's career when they started to slow down rather than remembering them in their prime like Clyde the glide drexler not old man gray-haired Clyde. Or Larry Bird struggling to pick himself up off the floor with a bad back in his last year or two.
  12. I can agree, the anti white movement is nothing but a racist movement itself. All people should rightly move away from BLM national org and its leadership. In the meantime, I'm trying to love my neighbors, learn from them, sympathize when appropriate, celebrate when appropriate, and even call some of them out on following BLM national and their twisted talking points. That is a hard conversation that takes a lots of speaking truth in love but at the same time listening to their experiences.
  13. Those who gave the ultimate sacrifice have a day of remembrance on Memorial day. Just this weekend 2 black friends of mine shared stories from their grandparents. One friend's grandmother growing up in South Carolina and the fight she went through to go to school as desegregation was happening. It sounded like torture compared to the "bullying" label that gets used today. She would literally get beat up by mons everyday. I'm not sure my grandparents even finished high school to be honest. The other friend shared about his great great grandmother being the first freeborn person in his bloodline. Though slavery of all types is certainly a shameful stain in our nation's history, one that none of use were responsible for, the freedom of a people group is a big deal to them. Setting the captives free. Sounds glorious. I've been set free from addiction, that's my only comparison. It deserves recognition and I have yet to hear any argument remotely close to changing my mind. Talking with my pastor just yesterday about this. The only thing I can think of holding back from the joy of liberating captives, is that we weren't the ones captive. And no, we weren't responsible for holding them either. Today we still have slavery as you mentioned. My church sponsors an orphanage in India that literally rescues children out of sex slavery. Its been going long enough that this year they will graduate 5 girls from college. Anything that celebrates setting captives free, count me in that party. This nation has to move forward somehow.
  14. The guy who wrote that might be the biggest Philadelphia home or ever. There's no way without giving up tons of young players and draft picks that they would ever get Damian Lillard for Ben Simmons. And what how would they get Lonzo ball and Brandon Ingram I'm literally chuckling at this.
  15. Can they trade him? Who would you rather have, him or Westbrook or Conley or Kemba? Im just spit balling guys on overpaid contracts. How do trade exceptions work? If I'm Philly I'd consider Westbrook and upgrade and go spend as much money on shooters. Tobias Harris has been solid, shoots 39% from 3 but low volume. And they have to pay him 36 million next year. Can Embiid really deliver and entire season at 100%? I dont think so.
  16. No but I threw up in my mouth a little bit reading that. Actually had one of the guys at the firehouse say it's actually pretty good I have no clue how or with what. milk maybe?
  17. Happy father's day. I know there are some good dad's on these here threads.
  18. I believe there is only one thing that can wash away my sins. Im a very imperfect, white guy. The older i get the more empathetic I have become. I have cousins that are mixed. Many friends who are black or mixed. I hate the word race or bi-racial so i purposefully am not saying it. What I do know is that this day isn't about white people. Debate the dates if you want from a historical perspective but I will allow the people group that most represents it decide when they want to celebrate it. I see enough hatred and division on a daily basis. Im not going to lecture grown men on how to perceive the world and to react to it. I will say based on IU basketball's Facebook feed we have a long ways to go sadly. What an embarrassment and I wonder how any black kids would be comfortable signing up to play for a university that has segments of the fan base that would even feel comfortable publicly displaying such ignorance. I pray the recognition of this time brings some healing.
  19. Mabs need shooters around Luka, not total non shooters.
  20. Fully agree. So LeVert is on the hook for 17.5 next year. If he can play like an all star(I think he can) then he's a steal and you hold. I want a faster point guard. But maybe if Brogden is the 3rd guy instead of needing to be the guy, he can thrive. The defense has to get back to respectable. Im thinking full small ball. Let Brogden be a spot shooting, smart 2, bring in a speedster point, Levert and Warren on wings and corners. Screw it. Get rid of both the bigs.
  21. Was talking to some guys yesterday about the Pacers. TJ Warren must be more valuable than the new old coach. He blew up in the bubble but only played 4 games last year due to injury. I wont be too surprised if the pacers run this think back one more time. The injuries were literally insane. The guys that were considered starters only played 8 games together last year, not even counting Warren. The pacers blueprint will be like the pistons last run. Really really solid all the way around, fringe all stars in 4 or so spots. They need luck. They need good health. Brogden, LeVert, Warren, Sabonis, Turner is a really solid 5. If all 5 of those dudes stayed healthy, who is on the all star team next year? Maybe none of them but that would actually be a good thing. I wont be mad if anyone gets traded but i doubt its Warren, at 12 mil a year with his last healthy showing being dropping 25 a game in the bubble.
  22. What a long over due National Holiday. Free at last to everyone.
  23. Thank God man that it wasn't a stroke. Hopefully a proper diagnosis and meds can work this out and get him back to a better normal.
