  1. No one mention Beilein to pistons as senior advisor of development. https://thespun.com/more/top-stories/nba-world-reacts-john-beilein-news
  2. Almost every kid we are in on now is around a 30th avg. I would say he hasn't talked to one kid outside the top 75 aside from keeping Gunn. https://247sports.com/college/indiana/Season/2022-Basketball/Targets/
  3. Thats an interesting angle. If a coach focused heavily on going to b sophomores. Maybe taking a guy with only one year of eligibility is not a good way to go unless they are the specific final piece you are looking for.
  4. So I'm with my mom and dad at rhe moment and brought this up. Mom said Pastor Bob Rogers has a large inner city ministry and has been apart of world missions for a very long time. Bender is the suspect for sure.
  5. I'm buying. There is huge upside. Not sure if they can be this year's Heat and make a deep run but they looked like the 2nd most capable team last night. Even in a loss the only thing holding back the nets would be their own chemistry and between the ears.
  6. Hunter seemed like such a no brainer in that draft. I sat there thinking, please pacers, for once package a deal and move up and take that guy.
  7. Tonight was the first i watched the Hawks. I was surprised. The ball movement and chemistry was a thing of beauty. They have 3 young studs. Their future is bright.
  8. Even in a win they cant crack a smile. Surprised they actually tried hard enough to win.
  9. The indy radio drum beat started beating and chanting bring the Masshole home again this week. If they got sweep Boston dan base would be livid. Tatum literally gets better everyday. Hes like Neo. Oh I can do that and this, ok. Let me try this. I never dreamed he would be as good as he is now but he probably has 3-4 more years of expected growth. He may wind up being the best guy in the league in 2 years.
  10. This hasn't aged well. Lots of time to play. Sorry @BGleasif bkn explodes the last 8.
  11. Im super confused why or how this is just now news. Did he play or even try to play last year?
  12. Uh, Brooklyn has 19 in the first 3 minutes This again.
  13. Louisville. Not Louisiana. I turn 40 june 11. My whole life is a hair younger than yours. Ill have to ask my dad. He grew up there and has known the pastor for probably 30 years or more. He actually helped wire the building that fedex bought, hence the new stuff. Ill paste what i just shared on btb. 1. Branden Bender is a straight idiot. Only a grace giving community would give him such a chance. Looks like he has embarrassed them a few times already. 2. Evangel Christian academy has been around a very long time. The school was in disrepair in 2008, economy went south, i thought the school was closing. Well, fast forward, their original property is across the interstate from one of the countries largest fedex hubs. I was driving up I-65 last month when I said, "what the heck? Where's evangel?" Uh fedex bought the property. Hence brand new gymnasiums, football fields etc. Edit to add. That property was probably 200-300 hundred acres of prime real estate right off the interstate, near the airport, 6 minutes from city center. They literally may have gotten 100 million for it. Edit to add 2. The church was established in 1956. Dont know when the school was started but it was junk in 2008. Saw it with my own eyes. More info. 211 acres. They tried selling in 98 for 25 million. Fast forward to now, probably at least double that.
  14. Evangel Christian Academy has probably been around longer than you and I. At least my whole life. I think they went through some financial trouble in 08 with the rest of the country but they must have made it through.
  15. Here is a historical poll from 2017. Not exactly sure the criteria. I could see a few of those 30-40 teams saying screw it, we cant win with recruits ranked 150ish. And to the point of top 75 impact now talent. If every team in the top 40 got 2 top 80 guys every year, which has never happened, thats just 2 guys. Geronimo was around #72 and was not close to an immediate impact guy. It would be a headache but nba guys like Musselman and even Woodson look at their team like a GM and look at the portal like free agency.
  16. Could be... Musselman restocking Arkansas roster again It should come as no surprise that Arkansas coach Eric Musselman is working the transfer market. He built a perennial winner at Nevada by relying on transfers and just led the Razorbacks to their first Sweet 16 since 1996 by doing the same in the SEC.
  17. I hit this question in my latest post. First post on this page. Penn st cant get top 75 kids anyways. Penn st would be smart to grab 2 or 3 nice transfers with experience and maturity. Their ceiling may not be championships but the floor just got higher. Why would you need a new team every year? Transfers can have 1, 2, or 3 years of eligibility. Im not denying it would be a management headache and this is not a new conversation. A coach was quoted around the tournament saying they are more likely in the future to look at the portal to plug holes because these are grown men, experienced, mature. Exhibit A. Has coach Woodson offered anyone outside of the top 50? There is no longer a point in tying up a scholarship on someone that isn't going to compete for playing time. They can go to Indiana st for a year or 2 and transfer over as a grown man.
  18. Like one year no guards will transfer? Im not trying to be a smart a but why are you digging in on this? Boheim was on DD back in April and he said a team will likely catapult into the top 5 because of the portal. And if you want to keep your job you better be paying attention to it. If Cal or Jim was able to get 3 or 4 of the top transfers each year you would easily have a top 15 team. This is not an outlandish statement. The question is, who is this? Does this coach have the recruiting chops to bring some of the best transfers each year again and again? If you are penn st and you cant pull top 75 guys anyways, a top 20 transfer is a hell of a stronger and more experienced player than a guy ranked 235. How is that not an accurate statement?
  19. I agree most coaches wont be able to pull this off. However someone like Cal could. They have a billboard up somewhere that shows a running total of all the money Kentucky guys have made. Some kid scoring 25 a game in the patriot league can easily be convinced he could be a pro with one year of exposure at Kentucky. I can think of a handful of coaches that could pull this off. I've been waiting for that rule change that is going to allow high school kids to go directly to the nba. The timeline is being set up for Bronny, if he materializes as good enough. I did check out the top 100 for 22. Texas was listed on a few of them so it's not Beard. I was shocked that guys even in the 50s have already declared as pro. There are about 10 in the top 100 already declared pro.
  20. Baylor literally just won a championship with the highest ranked kid on the team at 91 but now not getting top high schoolers is handicapping your team?
  21. Super high impact transfers are nothing new either. Most recently Michigan had a great team with a few transfers mixed in. Texas Tech final four run had key transfers.
  22. You guys are totally glossing over some facts. 1. There were former 5 star recruits and plenty of 4 star guys in the portal. Sure, blame covid for a larger influx of transfers. The one time transfer rule is going to mean grown men upperclassmen always available. 2. The current national champs had 2 ridiculously good transfers. In fact your argument is shot full of holes and dead on arrival. Baylor's top 20 recruit 91. Top 19 recruit 158. Top 18 recruit 93. Top 17 recruit 107.
