  1. I'm torn on how it appears the staff is looking to use scholarships with this class in particular. Because of the free year and the one time transfer year, for at least the next 3 years there is going to be tremendous transfer talent available. Guys more mature and potentially just as talented as anyone not in the top 50 or even lower. Guys that would be start now material at any big time program. Do y'all think IU will still fish the portal in future off seasons but fill the roster mostly with freshman? Not sure how we will keep up experience wise without portal supplements the next few years.
  2. And Sabonis with 20, 10, 10 nearing the half.
  3. I quit counting around 30 known exposures. About 70% of the guys at my firehouse have wound up testing positive. There has to be something to it. My dad as well. He's on the worship team at church. Out of 7 or 8 people, everyone got covid except my dad. I don't think I have a great immune system by any means. I don't get great sleep. I eat generally healthy. Same for my dad.
  4. It's a joke now. He had to ag them on yesterday. They weren't even going to do it. Friday night. People are drinking harder tonight. Might get a little rowdier.
  5. How many times over the years have we heard these cockamamie pay your own way rumors?
  6. "Indiana has been the biggest on me, they have been reaching out the most consistently," he said. "They just tell me to keep working, keep getting stronger and keep winning." And probably mumbled under their breath to keep growing. Good thing he's just finishing his sophomore year. Be competing with kansas instead of toledo for this one.
  7. I remember pushing little David in a swing at my uncle's house when we were kids. My uncle and his dad were best friends. Absolutely phenomenal family. Highest of character.
  8. If Woodson had this thing established, a kid like Smith would get a chance. But the scholarships and opportunities now are for studs that can come in a make an immediate impact. We did not just miss on Yogi Ferrell or even a Jordy Hulls. The kid may wind up winning Mr Basketball next year and be the lowest nationally ranked kid to ever win it. Yogi and Jordy were leading teams to championships. The book is still being written on this kid. I wish him good health. IU is still big brother. Moving on.
  9. I hope for the kids sake he's the next Steve Nash. IU will be just fine without him. The blueprint is becoming more clear. IU is going big time again. The offer list so far is length. The latest being a 6'10" kid that can shoot. The guards are built like brick houses that can still do it all. Hustle beats talent when talent doesn't hustle. Those days are long gone. "Play Hard" no crap. Don't play hard, sit bench. The cult following that has developed for this kid is interesting. I said way back there is a nostalgic feel about this kid, like a Jordy Hulls. Short white kid from Indiana that can shoot. Many of us have those qualities, lol, and dreamed of having the opportunity to play for IU. I'm curious why Luke Brown didn't get the love this kid has, besides from @IU/Butler/Notre Dame? When playing high level comp the few times in season, being double and triple teamed Brown still impressed. Smith hasn't faced one double team, albeit against big schools all season. In AAU play Brown played with and against the highest levels and performed very similarly, if not better. I believe Woodson is going to recruit shooters that aren't going to be a defensive liability. Like the size of Kopp going forward. Guys that can switch 3 or 4 times a possession and not get abused. There is only one kid at Purdue that I won't cringe at his success and that's only because I grew up with his mom, in Kaufman.
  10. Agree. And hey man. Sorry to hear about the family stuff. Hope better days are ahead. You know around here we have your back and lift up a prayer for you all.
  11. The only explanation is they are still listening to phone calls. If some dumb team is offering 5 future first rounders or something crazy.
  12. This quarterback class is going to be fun to look back on in 5 and 10 years and re-rank them.
  13. Pretty sure that's been the case since around April 1st so I guess we're looking at almost a full month. For the most part everyone that wanted it has gotten it. That's why Indiana department of health sent out that mass text and has been making such a big deal on the news and caused an uproar for doing the mass text. I saw an argument that vaccinated people should not have to wear a mask and that would be an incentive to go get vaccinated. What does the science, math, and facts say? According to the spokesperson for the health department something like .00something% of vaccinated people were being infected. So are we following the science and math and facts
  14. In Indiana, we are about 3 weeks in of available to all that wants it can get it.
  15. There is probably a lot of truth that Luke Brown and Braden Smith aren't that far away as players from Kyle Guy. Without knowing wing span and combine type numbers all we have to go on is stats and eyeballs. It looks to me like these kids can play and are wizards with the ball. Painter isn't afraid of one little guy getting beat because he has multiple 7 footers. The question remains, can that style win a championship in this day and age? Probably if you put a complete team together. Problem that IU is facing today or at least the last few years is an immediate upgrade in start now B1G material need.
  16. Looking back, I'm surprised people working in the food industry weren't wearing masks to begin with. I'm a spitter when I talk. Here's your food, spitiscpif. Opps sorry. I will never stand for a forced vaccine. But I will respectfully disagree.
  17. I try to have common ground on both sides of this. My family has a bad history with vaccine reactions. My grandfather's neurologist told my mom's side of the family to never get a vaccine again after his reaction to a flu shot. I won't go into details but he was a perfectly healthy man that in 2 years time died a sad slow death fighting ALS. I am in no way shape or form blaming the vaccine. I wasn't there, didn't hear the conversation for myself and there is a lot of emotion wrapped around the entire circumstance. Then we have my downs nephew that had a horrible reaction to his first shot and my mil that is a chronic covid sufferer, also had a horrible experience from the 1st shot. I was able to get the shot early along with health care workers. Many people I know got it early and knowing 1200 firefighters, I've heard some stories I won't share here. Saying all that. I pretty much stay away from this thread because it has taken a you're an idiot if you don't get the vaccine stance, even if no one has flat out said that. I'll continue to wash my hands after I go potty and before I eat. I'll continue to stay home if I'm sick because I was taught my entire life, you are most contagious when you have a fever. Science, math, and facts are subject to emotion, personal experience, and even personal preference. I love you all, my imaginary, internet friends. Stay healthy. Eat healthy, work out. Place your mental health as a priority.
  18. I don't know what the standards were for this study. I remember the Amy Comey Barrett courtyard party where like 6 out of 120 people came down with it. One of the news groups even circled the positive people on the crowd in a picture. The positive cases were fairly spread out. I know at some point, some had mask, many didn't. It was deemed a super spreader. Is 6 out of 120 really a super spreader? I gave up a long time ago on figuring out the science, math, and facts. How can we? Next week one study will supposedly debunk this one. We will watch documentaries in 40 years about this time. It will be telling. Until then, like I did before covid. Wash my hands after a potty and before you eat. Stay home if you are sick. Remember the days of you aren't contagious of anything unless you have a fever? Long gone. What happened to those days. Birx said at one point, if you have so much as ate out at a restaurant in the past 2 weeks, consider yourself positive. Huh? Stuff like that is why so many people are telling these drs to go beep themselves.
  19. Has this been mentioned? Any thoughts. https://www.cnbc.com/2021/04/23/mit-researchers-say-youre-no-safer-from-covid-indoors-at-6-feet-or-60-feet-in-new-study.html
  20. Bohanon has 143 games already under his belt. Eschmeyer had 112. Bohanon's red shirt year saw 10 games.
  21. As a firefighter, always clear your intersection. Doesn't matter how long you have had the green, look both ways long and wide. People have zero care about their own life, much less yours.
  22. I'm trying to grasp it. College sports is a job. He must really love it. Maybe he's half way through a master's program? There's worse things then coming out of 6 years of college debt free and still probably able to have a Jordy Hulls overseas type of career if he wants it.
