Geronimo seems to look better than last game so far

Someone needs to tell coach giving players a blow isn’t what he thinks it means…

It was interesting watching the game tonight they noted how Georgia with all the talent is rotating multiple beasts in and out on their DL while the same poor OL was in the whole game dealing with a rested version of each DLman constantly. Makes sense other teams would want to follow the same model if they can get the talent.

Deqeuce Carter is the #5 sleeper transfer on ESPN as well.

Andre Carter ranked as 29th transfer by ESPN. Not sure what to think of the overall list of 66 as I feel IU had solid pickups that should be on here as well but maybe with so many transfers is a large talented pool

I think we do have to give credit to the staff for all these pickups. In particular these are the guys that were likely truly undecided and they have sold them on coming to IU. It’s not like these guys that have declared and then by the next day already committed. They all knew where they were going. Going out and getting these players to commit is a good sign. I was worried IUs name would be lethal to transfers in the players circles but that does not seem to be the case. Still need that QB though, as others have stated.

I think coming to the BIG from the PAC-12 is a definite conference upgrade for him as well. If he comes could be exactly what the team needs. Wonder how his skills would fit in Bells style of offense?

It’s because classes start on Monday and the portal visit window is now I would suspect.

I will say this, from what I have been told and what was alluded to earlier Bell is the problem more than CTA. But the overall feeling is there is blame on Allen for letting Bell do what he did with CB and keeping Bell around after the season. A lot of players do not like him. Walk on players on offense don’t transfer unless they really are motivated to get away from a bad situation. I said before to me honestly this mass change in roster is likely the best thing for the program to have a chance over the next few years, but next year in particular. I hope Bell can do better but I think he will be what could sink CTA in the end.

The semester actually starts January 9th. But you could transfer in up until the 16th and not miss a beat on classes, after that don’t think it would happen. So your date is likely still the end all be all just not the official start date.

Looks like Purdue just got an upgrade to replace him. Maybe the reason he entered the portal?

Fair perspective, and to your point it’s not official like paper. Maybe people shouldn’t take digital messaging at its word just like maybe I should let it go before happy hour gets me saying even more than I should. Gonna leave it here.

Agreed, as someone that has coached I have seen it as well. Also things change and you can’t always hold up to what you once promise. But that to me is the issue, don’t promise anything. And definitely don’t put it in writing.

Agreed completely that’s why I said it’s balanced on both sides. I think your example and my example are totally a small sample on both ends of spectrum that’s hopefully middle of both at worst and your example at best.

I think it’s bold to assume a few parents posts are the the true measure. I have talked directly to a couple parents who feel the exact opposite. The truth is likely in the middle from both ends but I have direct examples of things that have been done and said that have turned me personally off on this coaching staff. However, I think it will be good for this staff to bring in new players with fresh perceptions, but as has been alluded by others what is the word on IU in the player circles out there? We will see I guess.

Its not surprising to see the top schools, like these have large highly rated transfers. If they are not playing or have a bad to the bone freshman coming in next year they see the writing on the wall. This is going to happen every year for them. Its going to happen for IU just as much, but i think the difference is the team losing high caliber starters or bench players that if at IU can't get time may not get time at a power 5. I think it has been a mix for IU this year, but need to see the final list to decide for sure.

If Allen could get the same money on a longer contract he should take the job. Start fresh at a new school and let IU move on. It’s not happening but this would be the best case scenario for both parties IMO.
