Disappointed but in reality you take two starters out and your best player is battling back problems. It's going to take time to figure out who should play now and how to play. Honestly, the regular season now becomes a transition in prep for conf tournament.

Fran should of had another technical and been gone. There's really no arguing this because the ref actually gave him a T and then waved it off. His loudmouth son should have gotten a T because he went toward the IU bench and coaches too after the refs separated everyone. No T there either. As poor as IU played after the fast start, if the refs make the clear and appropriate calls, IU likely wins the game. How do you T up JG for tossing the ball to the ref? That happens in every game and I'm never seen a player T'd up for it. The next time it happens to IU CMW need to go balisitic. I will agree, IU did not look prepared for the press. They were rarely able to attack the press even though they have the better athletes. It became a mission just to get the ball over half court and run an offense and even that had multiple breakdowns that were not necessary. Frankly, with TJD hobbled they probably didn't even consider attacking the press. Back to Coach. It may not be his personality to get on the refs hard but so far he hasn't been able to figure out how to work the refs. It's hurting his team. While some coaches go off all the time, it wouldn't hurt CMW to go off when it is called for like last night. Race got completely tackled from behind and injured. No foul was called. Just to protect your players you have to call it out in a big way on the floor. Another player gets hit in the face with an elbow and he is called for the foul. Coach can't let that go. And when the other team's coach, and his idiot son, come at your bench, that cannot be overlooked. CMW should have demanded the T or got one of his own over it. CMW was more vocal after the game but he's got to make a statement when it happens in the game.

First, hoping the best for Race. His reaction was telling. It's likely to be bad and he may be done. TJD's back is more important than the loss. If this is ongoing IU is finished. You can't lose two starters in X and Race and have an ailing TJD out there struggling. That's asking too much. CMW has to fight harder and work the refs better. You had one player completely taken out from behind and there's no foul called. You can't let that go. Another gets hit in the face with an elbow and he's called for the foul? The other team's coach goes to your bench jawing. No T? Your player throws ball to ref and gets a T? CMW, fight harder. This is absolute crap. if Race is done and/or TJD's back will be an issue from here out, it's time to consider changing up the focus. Play the young guys, let JHS take the lead and build around him, and prepare for the conf tourney. That's the most likely path to the big dance, as slim as it is.

CMW doesn't have to be Fran but he has to put up more of a fight for his team. Fran blew up, got the T, and then things changed. IU helped with poor play but the calls started going the other way.

When was the last time IU took a charge?

CMW should take the hit and rally call out the refs after this one. One player completely taken out and no foul. Another hit in the face and he's called for the foul. At some point coach has to figure out how to work the refs so his team can get a fair shake.

At what point does IU start playing the young guys?

Malik? No idea what he's attempting to do on D. The strength of this team is supposed to be it's defense. Really not seeing it. Out of position. Losing guys. Hands down. And then they don't block out.

Breaking the zone but rarely attacking it. IU guilty of getting hit in the face. Unreal.

In the second half?

Looked like we took everybody off Murray. He's just standing out there alone at times.

Shades of last year. Big lead early. Let them back in. Close down the stretch. Lose at the end. Hope that's not the case. Plus getting killed on the glass. Absolutely killed.

I won't be surprised if TJD is done for the night. If his back is acting up after having weeks off, it's about to get ugly. If both Race and Trayce are done, turn out the lights.

Not looking good for Race. The fact that's not called a foul is unexplainable road or not. CMW should have gone ballistic on that one. CMW has not figured out how to work the refs and it's hurting his team.

This is a big game. IU needs a road win in what may be one of the most winnable conference road games they will have. If they play D at a high level, take care of the ball, and work through TJD, then I like their chances. I am concerned about Tamar starting. The gamble here is he will provide more on offense than he gives up on D. But if you watch him through the season, he is out of position on defense probably more than anyone on the team AND when the ball goes up he's a spectator. Maybe this is his opportunity to really show what he can do. On the other hand, he may try to do too much and that's not good either.

UofL v uk just ugly. The only difference is OT plays for uk. Put him in a Cardinal uniform and it would be the exact same game going the other way.
