  1. Rebound Rebound Rebound. This is where Purdue has gotten IU many times in key possessions.
  2. Ugh. Huge possession and a miss.
  3. Correct. Now go one step further. IU hasn't guarded a legit big in several seasons. Why? Because one guy 6'9 and a couple 6'8s is all they ever have available who can play. 6'9 245vis a forward in today's game. 6'11 260 or bigger play center for the best teams today. Recruit some legit size IU
  4. Ever wonder how teams can collapse on Trayce and yet nobody else is open? I'd bring Banks back in. At least he moves to the open spot.
  5. IU the force is not with you. Knock it off.
  6. JHS just not smart on some of these
  7. I'd expect a press any time now
  8. Don't start fouling now. The longer they keep them out of bonus the better.
  9. Wanted possessions and not locked in on D.
  10. Chaotic offense. Early threes, passing up elbow three for corner threes, not going thrilu TJD. Not getting on the glass. CMW needs to calm them down.
  11. At this point, it's clear CMW has decided the fouls are less important than the level of D. Reminds me of Pitino's press back in the day. The refs can't call everything and we'll score enough off of it to not worry about it. Unfortunately IU gets called much more often than not. And now purdue is just flopping all over the place.
  12. Must build the lead mow. Cannot play even here or lose ground.
  13. Offensive rebounds keeping Purdue in the game. IU starting to foul like crazy.
  14. Great start. Stay focused on the game not jawing.
  15. Of late, Purdue just throws size at IU and that's been enough more often than not. Even when IU plays it close it seems the late key rebounds and put backs have been all Purdue. Fortunately IU picked up a W last season but much of the recent past has gone the wrong way. Some day, not sure when, IU will realize you need more than a couple 6'8 guys and a 6'9 to match up with much bigger teams. You can go small if you can consistently shoot lights out, but in spite of IU's better shooting this season it's not been near enough in several seasons. I'm hoping home court works its magic, maybe IU gets the calls, but this is not a great match up for IU. If you're asking TJD to handle 7'4 305 for 40 minutes, you're asking too much. Especially when TJD has no known jumper to work with. Malik may foul out in 10 minutes of playing time. Race? Not sure he's ready yet and if he was it would be asking a lot for him to guard Edey. Duncomb is a no show for his career at this point. If you want to make a statement and help your post season seeding, this would be a huge win. Let's hope they can come up with a game plan that works.
  16. You have a starting guard going 1 of 14 with 4 turnovers. That will do it. But the fouls were key. They allowed Maryland to score and then set up the press, which IU has struggled with since the Iowa game. You can argue they weren't turning it over at a high rate against the press but it slowed them to a crawl, ate up the shot clock, and forced them to run their offense quickly rather then allow TJD time to set up a move or a pass out of. Unfortunately they have not figured out a way to break the press and attack it. Trey and Tamar, even JHS, do not seem sure about their dribble and you get the impression it's a turnover waiting to happen. Can the coaches come up with a better solution in how to attack with the pass? Maybe. But it's not showing up so far. Gabe Cupps can help solve that problem next year but it really highlights how much this team needs X this season. Plus, you won't have the same team next year and unless they add some size it may not matter.
  17. Free throws. Figure it out or expect to lose. Ackowlege there will be home cooking but in all honesty some of them are just poor positioning and reaching. As a team they have to be better.
  18. The problem with starting 1 -4 is even when you make a five game run it only takes one loss to put you right back in the middle of he pack.
  19. And CMW didn't explode once. Maybe he shouldn't but at some point you have to fight for your team.
  20. Senior guards win out tonight Now they put TJD on the othercside. Bucket. Where's that been all night.
  21. Malik just killing the comeback tonight. Two missed rebounds and another bad foul late. Fouling out on some really bad fouls. Unfortunately no Geronimo or Duncomb (leading IU in illnesses for the econd straight season). They say the best ability is availability. IU will look back on this game and see a big missed opportunity.
  22. It's put up or shut up time if they want to win this one. Time for TJD to attack and force the refs to make a call.
