Getting blown out home by Nebraska. I’m starting to think Woodson might not survive this after all. I was convinced he’d get another year, but I’m not so sure anymore.

1-10 from three….you’d think we’d make more than that by accident.

I hate to say it, but it looks like this team has mailed it in, and it may get a lot worse before it gets better.

Does that mean we are facing 2 humps?
Yep, two humps…🐫

Queen has most likely known his choice for some time, but there has been plenty of time/opportunities to either change his mind or solidify for IU.
Why move away from home to play on a mediocre team, when he can do that by playing for Maryland.

First time I’ve ever been called a Tar Heel fan. Now that’s rich.
Seriously though, Hubert Davis has 10-15 good years left in front of him and Woodson will be in Florida here (hopefully) within the next 12-13 months. Hubert Davis doesn’t need to coach another collegiate game to prove he’s better than Mike Woodson.
Just kidding about being a Tar Heel fan, but I live NC, and trust me, they don’t think he’s any better than we think Woodson is. He’d already be gone, if the fans had anything to say about it.

He's coached for a national title and has a top 10 team this year all within the same time frame of Woodson. It's not even a comparison.
Sounds like a Tar Heel fan to me. I’d take Woodson any day.

My neighbor is a Tar Heel guy. He wanted Hubert gone last year because of bringing back the entire team and what happened. Just shows the fickle nature for sure.
Yep, and does anyone think Hubert Davis is a better coach than Woodson? I don’t think so.

Agree, considering they returned almost their entire roster, last year was probably worse for UNC than this year is for us, and yet they’ve turned it around this year.

I could see us not making it out of the first weekend and I can see us making a Final Four. Just depends on the matchups like you said. If we have an off night shooting and another team is on fire, could be a quick exit.
If you’re good enough and play to your potential, match ups shouldn’t matter.

Yes and they returned most of that roster when they didn't make the tourney at all.
Great point, and there was a lot of chatter about firing Hubert last year in Tar Heel land.

So you probably hope Woodson is still the coach then
I would bet if we change coaches McNeely won't be a Hoosier
And that’s why I say, give him one more year to see what he can do with a McNeeley, MgBacko and Reneau in the lineup together. Add a scoring guard, and we should be set. McNeeley can be a game changer, and I expect MgBacko to make the same kind of leap that Reneau did this year. If he can’t win and win big with those guys, then there’s no doubt it will be his last year.

It’s on Woody because we have talent, but it’s just not the right mix. Hard to imagine adding Sparks and Walker, and not adding a scoring guard. Hopefully, next year will be different.

I’ll keep watching and supporting the team, but I can’t express how disappointing this season has been. We have some really good pieces, but are horrible as a team….12-21 at the FT line is inexcusable, and 66% for the season is horrendous. It’s not all on Woodson, but teaching basic fundamentals is a must, and right now we’re lacking in all areas. If we clean up our FT shooting, defensive rebounding and turnovers, we have a chance to be a really good next year with MgBacko, Reneau and McNeeley, but it all hinges on guard play, so the portal will be critical. We can’t swing and miss again on guards or next year will be a repeat of this season.

Against Purdue Leal and Cupps played a combined 34 minutes, and were 0-3 from the field and scored 0 points. I’m not blaming them for the loss, but you can’t win with that type of production from your guards. They’re not even looking to score, and that’s not sustainable. Good or bad, at least when Gunn comes in you have to guard him, because he’s going to let it fly.

The coaching staff wouldn't know how to use her.
Good point

I think I came up with a solution to our shooting woes….lets move Sara Scalia over to the men’s team for the rest of the year. She’s shooting 89% from the FT line and 46% from 3… problem solved.

No real commentary on last night’s game other than we lost to a much better team, and by far the best team in the conference.

Theres been some talk about what next year could look like, in a good way, if everything breaks our way perfectly in the offseason.
Theres been very little talk about what next year might look like if Ware and Mgabko are gone, Liam maybe decides he doesn’t want to be a part of this, and then we strike out on meaningful guard help in the portal. It could be awful next year just as easily as it could be a big rebound.
I am so dreading next year as a fan right now. Painful was a good word choice.
You’re right…the scary thing is it could go either way.
