I think college football games in general are just getting absurdly long. A college basketball game lasts about 2 hours. That's about the same length as a movie. Anymore, it takes about 2 hours just to reach halftime in a football game.

Having games go 4 hours is ridiculous

Why

To much down time and it interferes with the next game.  Especially on games I don't care about I am not going to watch that long of a game.  If an NFL game can be completed in around 3 hours there no reason that college games last almost an hour longer.

It's not really apples to apples comparison. NFL the clock doesn't stop on first downs and there is, at times, MUCH more passing/incomplete passes in college. I think most NFL games are 3hr 15mins. I think there is considerably more down time in the 2 hr 15 min window that it takes to play a CBB game.

I always thought a 'lady' liked it longer.  :coffee:

Avg length of NFL-- 3hrs 12 mins

Avg length of CFB-- 3hrs 20 mins

🤷‍♂️

I don't mind the length of the game as much as do the ending time on primetime tv.  They need to move those kick-offs up for us old f****rs that go to bed early.

They need to limit the amount of reviews in college and I never understood stopping the clock after a first down.  Also seems like half time in college is way longer than the NFL

Doesn't the chain crew have to do that in the NFL and they don't stop the clock.

I would assume the quality of the chain crew, and the officials as a whole, is much better than in the NFL.  Botched chain stuff should not be a factor in win vs. loss.  If btownqb's numbers are correct, it's an 8 minute difference.  Not a big deal in my mind.

Another factor is I would almost guarantee there are more injury timeouts in college.

Florida's Anthony Richardson for the Heisman?

https://www.floridabet.com/news/anthony-richardson-heisman-odds

Florida was one of the big winners in the new poll. After beginning the season unranked and receiving only 14 votes in the preseason poll, the Gators surged to the No. 12 slot following their thrilling 29-26 win over No. 7 Utah in coach Billy Napier's debut. Their rise sets up a top-25 matchup on Saturday with No. 20 Kentucky. Florida's climb marks the biggest jump for an unranked team since the first regular-season poll of the 2016 season when Texas landed at No. 11 and Wisconsin at No. 10 after Week 1 victories

To me, I think Florida's win over Utah is more of an indictment of the Utes than it is a feather in the cap of the Gators.  Don't be surprised at all if UK beats the Gators this weekend.

I think Utah was ranked too high at #7.

UK vs. Florida.  A Top-25 match-up in football?  lol

Seems like every injury timeouts ends up being full ones and goes to commercial.  It seems to me most college games last between 3:30 to 3:45 hours
