The only pitcher Ted Williams said he started thinking about 3 days before he faced him.

And lost 4 years to WWII. Enlisted in the Navy even though he was classified as 3C...

Just looked it up. Not sure what's more impressive. 12 1 hitters or 19 2nd place finishes for Nicklaus.
