What future HoFer in his first ever MLB game went 4-4(2 singes,2 triples) off of a future HoF pitcher?

Hint:  The player played his entire career on the West coast.

Hmmm..."future HOFer" so he's either active or recently retired...

Gotta go with Mike Trout...

Has to be a Dodger or Giants player. I know a few here and there but sadly not enough...or maybe because of the triple aspect it was my man Rickey?

There's a trick to this.  Is the 'player' in the Hall of Fame because of his managing skills?

When I was in 3rd grade, our milk cartons had pictures and a small synopsis of each President up to LBJ. I'd cut them out and collect them. Learned a lot from that.

The next year it was state capitals. I'm hell on those too.

Funny how you get kids to learn things.

A dandy I heard last night on the local sports...

A minor league franchise relocated to Fort Wayne in 1993.  Who is the first player to play for Fort Wayne to make it to the majors?

Hints:

He is a native Hoosier.

He received an offer to play basketball at Indiana St.

He played 21 years in the majors.
