  1. Natty and I are at the walk right now waiting for the team.
  2. Hey guys, we weren’t able to secure a spot for tailgating. I plan to get there early to check out the scene, but also find a spot inside Memorial Stadium to gather and see people. Haven’t been in Bloomington since IU played Navy awhile back.
  3. Hey All, Natty, UpperArlington, and I are going to the Sept 18th game vs Cincy, and would love to get a tailgate/get together with other board members! It’s a 12et/11ct kickoff, and I would get there early to set up shop for everyone to come by. I don’t know if I plan to do much food, but if people want to chip in then we can get people fed and drink the day away. Please let me know if you can make it, because I will at least get snacks and some drinks for everyone. Hope to see a lot of you there, and I will posted this on BTB as well.
  4. Don’t worry, I will be I have my candy stripes and IU hoodie ready.
  5. If possible I will try to get out and watch a game or two since I live in the Stl area.
  6. Here’s me with my wife and kids. My oldest (3 1/2) completely changed my world when he was born and has made me a much better man and husband. Been with my wife since high school, she’s amazing! The little one is always goofing around.
  7. Tried some new whiskey over the past couple of weekends. I found out that I really like Makers Mark (......... a little too much apparently) and Seagrams 7. I did not like Seagrams 7 at all, just not my kind of drink.
  8. Or this is a product of Hunter coming in with good connections and opening new doors for us? Not saying your wrong, but it could mean a few different things. I like that Coach Miller isn’t sitting on his hands, but also not giving out random scholarships to head scratching prospects!
  9. Made my famous black and bleu burgers last night, huge hit. Mixed in the bacon and blue cheese with my favorite seasoning, Chicago Steak seasoning. My 3 year old even ate all of his, which is a good sign lol. Don’t like restaurant style that out the blue cheese on top, it’s better cooking in the meat imo.
  10. Yes and no. We had minnows, but this was caught off a reddish pink worm with a tail (it’s been so long I can’t remember the name). So this was not caught bobber fishing
  11. Haha, love it Brass! It’s amazing what you can get accomplished by getting the wife to agree. She was wanting some wood projects done around the house, so I told her I needed such and such tools to complete it. Even though I wasn’t lying, I just may have been able to get more tools out of it
  12. Bought myself a miter saw so it’s time to get to work I am designing mud room storage (all wood) with a liter box in it. Wife’s request lol. My wife is heading out of town later this month with the kiddos so I’m hoping to have it done when she comes back to surprise her.
  13. Been awhile since thins picture was taken, but it was a good day back in Southern IL. Caught about 6 of them 4lbs and up. The lake we were at, decent fishing but never known for big bass.
  14. Nice. I got the fire pit out last night and had a can of Yuengling and then a glass of Redneck Riviera Whiskey (straight). Nice way to end the evening.
  15. I have an electric smoker and it reached an internal temp of 158 when I took it out. I wanted to take it out at 155, but when I got home from work it was at 158. I also wrapped it in foil for an hour after and let it rest. I left a little vent for fear it would get to dry wrapped in the foil.
  16. Smoked it at 185 with apple wood chips. In my brine I added a little chili powder to help balance the amount of brown sugar the recipe called for. It was a good call because the recipe I used was a little bland, but regardless still provided a good flavor. I used a KC BBQ rub on it. I was going to wrap it in bacon, but couldn’t find the bacon as I was trying to leave for work. Dummy me didn’t check the outside fridge where we had all the bacon. Wife said it was the most moist pork loin I’ve ever made. I don’t like dry meat, so it’s a win for me.
  17. Pork loin was a big success, very moist and nice flavor. Did a nice brine that mainly consisted of water, whiskey, and brown sugar.
  18. Was able to get a pork loin in the smoker before I left for work. Can’t wait to get home for dinner tonight
  19. Made some ribs tonight, didn’t make the pulled pork. Wasn’t too bad, I’ve made better, but I was also building shelves for our unfinished basement throughout today so I didn’t prepare the ribs or do much with them.
  20. Well that comment didn’t take long lol. She wanted to prove to herself she could do it there and back, and she did.
  21. Didn’t see an outdoor thread, so thought I would start one (sorry if there is one, didn’t see one when I searched for it). I love to fish, would like to hike more but it hard with a 3 year and 9 month old. We might go hiking tomorrow late morning after I get back from fishing lol. Where I live there are not many good places to fish, but we have a good sized pond in our subdivision. Has your typical stuff here, Bass, Crappie, and Blue Gill/Sunfish. I have caught one catfish in almost 4 years in our subdivision, which was a decent sized channel, but that’s been it. I was told catfish and crappie were fished out, but there are some good sized crapped that I catch almost every time out. Only thing that stinks is that most of the Bass are small, I’m lucky to catch one over 10 inches. I really want to get into hunting, as my in-laws are big into it. Never had much of an opportunity to, but would like to and be able to teach my kids. I love hiking in the Smokey Mountains, good waterfalls and a good variety of difficulty. I will post some pictures soon from our last trip there a couple years ago. We were supposed to go this year for vacation, but got postponed to next year because of the virus. Wasn’t worth the 8 hour drive if things were potentially going to be closed. How about everyone else?
  22. Just had a short storm roll through, as it was starting to come through I may have been sitting outside drinking one of my favorite beers, Goose Island 312. Love watching storms roll in.
