I’ve never been a big movie person, but trying to get there. I’m probably one of the few people on this planet who hasn’t seen many marvel movies. I’ve seen 3, I think. Anyway, Disney+ has a category to watch them chronologically, so I’m doing that. I’m about to start Thor, but skipped Captain Marvel. I watched the beginning and was very bored lol. Really liked the first two Iron Man’s and Captain America: The First Avenger.

Getting the grill and smoker out this weekend. Plan to smoke a pork loin and bone-in chicken quarter thighs. Will try making some fun pizza burgers, been awhile since I’ve done that.

Really looking forward to this upcoming season. One thing that will be huge for us again is the defense. Defense alone will keep us in games, just like it did the majority of last season. With a year of experience and spending more time on offense, I think that will help push us over the edge. This team lost a lot of close games and had significant injuries (TJD played through his the best he could). With better overall talent and experience in the system, I think there will be better results. Even if shooting is only slightly better, experience in the system and better over talent will be huge factors into making it a successful season in the Big10 and nationally.

One of my all time favorites was O’Fallons Kite Tail, a really nice summer beer. They replaced it with Summer Daze, which is still good, but not even close to Kite Tail. Wasn’t a fruity beer or too heavy with Hops, just a good even beer that was delicious. O’Fallon is dead to me now!

Went to the Cards game on Monday. Was a great game and enjoyed some good family time with the in-laws.

Did some drinking over the weekend, I’m sure I’m not the only one. Had a Bud Select (my go to if I have to pick a major bud product) and Kona Big Wave at Busch Stadium yesterday. Wife made blackberry whiskey lemonade that isn’t too bad. A little tart for me, could use some simple syrup or something. Hermann, MO is a neat little town about an hour west of St. Louis that’s a major wine territory, but also German themed. Blackshire Distillery is there and we got a bottle of blackberry whiskey. Good stuff for something different. Also had some 100 proof whiskey last night as well that was really good. No burn, but definitely warms the chest lol. Ever since my golf scramble incident a few years back, I’ve had trouble drinking stuff straight. Luckily I was able to do this just fine.

I’m a day late but huge thank you to all those that made the ultimate sacrifice! Can’t thank them enough and always thank active and former members of our armed forces when I get a chance. I light up a 4ft by 6ft flag that my wife got me a couple years back. It’s an American flag with hundreds of lights on it.

Didn’t do much grilling. I did burgers on Saturday, but nothing else. Need to give my smoker a good deep clean. Really need to get some pork, chicken, and brisket in the smoker soon. I really like smoking chicken quarter thighs (bone in) after a good brining. Household favorite that everyone really likes.

Yep, very, VERY surprised it happened. Blues haven’t looked all that good this series, and happy they made it to a game 6. Really hope this gives them much needed momentum!

Really like this and glad Coach Woodson is getting us much high profile matchups and tournaments. I liked the crossroads classic, but prefer what’s going on now. Nicely done IU!

Took my oldest, who is 5, to Home Depot over the weekend to look at landscaping items and flowers. He smelled a thing of flowers, and in front of a lot of people says, “Dad, this flower smells like toots. It’s a toot flower daddy!!” 🤦‍♂️ Oh that kid lol.

So you must have been in favor of prohibition?! Lol, 😘 just kidding. Everyone has their own opinions, and even though owning a gun should be a right, I do believe more things have to be put in place to help with this horrific shootings.

Being in St. Louis, I’ve already planted the seed with the wife to attend the KU game. She seems like it would be fun so hopefully it’s a go !
