I guess it was probably slightly overshadowed by the Jimbo Fisher news but in other big football news... DePauw took down Wabash in an overtime thriller to win the Monon Bell for the second straight year. Go Tigers!

Just an observation.. When asked about the stagnant offense. Woody said they need to "trust each other" and stop playing for themselves. There is some selfishness for sure but also a lot of hesitation on offense (perhaps because of lack of trust). Too often multiple, unnecessary fakes before a pass, etc. Watch that play just before the 2:00 mark in the 2nd half. Entry pass draws a double, quick kick out, swing pass, shot fake, pass to Cupps wide open who sticks that 3. They didn't hesitate in that sequence it got the defense completely out of position and lead to a wide open shot. Was that because we had the 3 guards in or because those three (who happen to be guards) trusted each other and didn't hesitate?

We had 17 turnovers (12 of which were steals). Combining that with them attempting almost 40 3's then I would say "holding" them to 64 was decent or OK or "pretty good" all things considered. My original comment was responding to someone saying Woody made the comment that we played pretty good basketball in general which was just not at all what he said.

He didn't sound "happy" about anything (rightly so) to be honest. They obviously have a goal around keeping opponents under a certain number as I he made a similar comment after the first game. I took it as more of "well we achieved one of our goals but everything else stunk"

I watched the presser again this morning. He said, "for the most part we played pretty good basketball defensively keeping them to 64 points" It was obvious that he was not happy with the offense at all.

A new season and a new reminder of why I don't read the in-game thread. Sheesh. The pre-game thread was all about how this would be a good test and tough game but when we don't jump out to a twenty point lead shooting 30+ 3's the sky starts to fall. Lots of room between here and the ceiling. Take the W against a good team and improve. That and HIT YOUR FLIPPING FREE THROWS is all I ask. 1-0

The question will be, does he get called for fouls when his face makes contact with Edey's elbow like so many other bigs in the conference. -
I heard we made some recent upgrades that let us compete with the "big boys" This included a new net on the goal and some fresh bales in the hayloft.

Why would you think that was directed at you? If I was directing that at your comment I would have quoted you. Chill man.
