  1. Let's fire Tim Garl too.. players aren't returning from these injuries caused by our strength and conditioning program fast enough 🙄
  2. This feels like as good a place to post this as any. Free throws... I've always felt the players should shoulder the majority of responsibility here. Outside of the staff providing some coaching around form and calling out guys to get their @$$ in the gym and work on it outside of practice, what else should be expected from a coaching staff?
  3. I wouldn't care if he was from India or Indiana at this point. Just as long as they care and could hit freaking free throws
  4. I go back and forth on if the defensive problems are more schematic or personnel. I'm sure it's a bit of both but our current roster has no one who can guard the ball and disrupt the opponent's offense at the point of attack. Everything breaks down after that - forced into bad or no switches, over helping to counter penetration into the lane, out of position to recover on a shooter etc.
  5. So all we need to do is create an offensive coordinator position and convince May and Woodson.

  7. Next BOT meeting is 2/29 Bring your signs and leaflets just leave your poles and sticks at home @IU Scott Their email address is there for you as well
  8. Good post. For me, debating opinions (in this case the optimists vs the pessimists) is healthy and entertaining. As long as those opinions are about relevant topics (the system, player development, recruiting, line-ups, why Purdue sucks). When the opinions shifts to the irrelevant things (he's not animated enough, he says "hump" too much, why is the assistant AD on the bench, etc) that's when the debate drifts into the "absurd" for me.
  9. I'm legitimately curious why some think a coach at a P6 school not in the BigTen would see OSU as a step up? Money aside that is. Just looking at which conferences have had national championships in the last 20 years... that's a BigZero for the BigTen. Not to mention the overall poor performance of the conference in the tournament for many years now and the "Tackle Basketball" that the conference allows. Sure, maybe a coach at some perpetual bottom dweller team in one of those conferences but I don't see why someone like Oats or Miller would see that job as a step up from where they currently are.
  10. My biggest/best memory from that season was the final seconds of the Michigan game (especially the replay of the ball with the Michigan logo slowly falling off the rim).
  11. Fair enough. Sorry for assuming you were talking about Woodson. I don't know the responsibilities of the assistant AD but perhaps Dolson gave you the lowdown in one of your Scott to Scott emails that lead you to the conclusion that he does nothing.
  12. The NBA doesn't translate to college basketball though
  13. All other things aside, what ever gives you any suggestion that Woodson doesn't relate to players? Good grief. If there is one thing overwhelming clear is that he relates to players and they love him. This "more dynamic" crap drives me nuts. I don't want another RMK screaming and loosing his $&#@ on players, refs, and chairs all the time. I just don't, sorry
  14. You forgot the World's Second Largest Drum
  15. 100% agree. IU has way better facilities, NIL, name recognition, etc. but this job comes with much higher expectations and pressure as well. So hypothetically, what would be an acceptable first 4 years if Woodson is replaced by May and there is a mass exodus of current players and McNeely opts out?
  16. Again, I'm not trying to make an argument one way or the other. Nor am I arguing that Woodson should stay or go. Just wanting some discussion. Some have framed this current IU season as the "worst in program history" (excluding the first 3 Crean years). Some have said the program is in a terrible state and spiraling in the wrong direction. With that, if a coaching change is made we will be (once again) in rebuild mode. So I feel there is valid comparison here.
  17. I'm not trying to prop up or tear down May. Just providing information and asking this question: Would the IU fan base be OK with the next 4 years being similar to May's first 4 years at FAU?
  18. We all want to return to "the glory days". But those were 20 years ago. In the 13 years before Woodson we went to 4 tournaments. FOUR. He takes the teams to the tournament in both his first two seasons. Could we have used guard help this season? Yes. Did we not get it because Woodson is stupid or lazy? I don't think so. Like @IUFLA said earlier, I think his mistake was loyalty to the current players (X, Galloway and Gunn) in that he probably wouldn't guarantee starting roles to potential transfer guards. P.S. Seems we are all telling our age to qualify our posts. I'm 50
  19. Unless it's NBA coaching experience. That doesn't seem to count for much these days.
  20. Man, I love the ignore feature on this site.
  21. Projections on what the line will be? I'm guessing it opens at 15 and goes up from there
  22. A lot of carrots in that stew
