you don't have to take offense to that, but you can if you want.

It was just a question. I dont follow them

if what I am doing with the Women's team is wrong, what is happening with everyone else and the men's team?

Go through the Women's thread. They can't simply celebrate them, but have to drag the men's teams through the mud while doing so.

All i said was they are more enjoyable to watch. I don't post about them, I gave my thoughts on teams in Indiana that are more enjoyable to watch. I expected push back because I put PU on there but they play good basketball and I like to watch good basketball. No offense taken and men's play is what gets them drug through the mud. Maybe I am too old school in my thinking but if you don't want people to say those things then shut them up with your play. Unfortunately our team supports what many fans are saying and have done little to nothing to change that. IMO the women should be applauded for what they are doing and it might not pan out to a championship or a final 4 but I don't think we are being too critical on the mens team either. Playing basketball at Indiana comes with a lot of criticism if its not good but with even more praise and accolades when it is.

  2. You cannot win on a consistent basis shooting as poorly from 3pt and FT as this team does. Can they get hot for a game and win one they shouldn't of course and would I be surprised heck no. To do things they have not done all year up to this point is unrealistic. They are what the record says they are a poor shooting team with no real leadership. Some good to outstanding at times post play. At times a good defensive team but for the majority of the time a poor perimeter defense. A much improved MM but outside of he and MR who is any better today then they were 3 months ago. The 8th poorest 3pt shooting team in the country is not going to make the tournament in this day and age of basketball.

Doesn't the women's team get the crap beat out of them by anyone that is good?

Probably not but nice try. they have lost twice this year t0 2 teams in the top 10. I said more enjoyable to watch and a better brand They make more 3's per game than the men's team attempts but if putting them down makes you sleep better at night go right ahead and knock yourself out. 1 of the IU basketball teams will be in the NCAA tournament and I would bet everything I own its not the Men's team

yeah I'll pass on watching IN ST lol

Been an IU fan  for 44 years and I can tell you ISU is much more enjoyable and much more fundamentally sound. As a former coach watching IU makes me want to puke on a daily. It truly is astonishing that this staff can put together such a poorly constructed team. as you know 1st hand at most high school jobs you deal the hand given but these guys were hand picked by the IU staff. Being 100% honest I have not watched the last 3 games and just check in a few times during the game to see the score. I did listen to the last 3 min of Illinois and just enough to get my hopes up again just to realize we have no killers on this team. (APATHY HAS SET IN)

Teams in Indiana more enjoyable to watch than IU mens team

    IU WOMENS Team

    Pacers

    Most high school teams

    In St

    PU

The Greensburg 3rd and 4th grade  YMCA team and I don't know any of the kids.

  5. Indiana State is fun to watch. Move the ball guys hit shots lots of assist they paly fast and oh yeah the win. Not too late to jump on the Sycamore Bandwagon still lots of room. You will feel better after the game also. Woody and staff watch some of that video and get some guys here who can do those things and maybe you have a chance to win in todays game otherwise we will continue to suck. It must be all those 5 star guys they bring to Terre Haute.

    FG          3PT          FT

    33-65   12-29     17-20

    50.8 %     41.4 %    85.0 %

Tonights shooting display and really all season is why we need this kid or at least kids like him.

On the flip side Painter is saying if I can get Fletcher Loyer to light up Indiana and have us ranked #1 imagine what i can do with you.  I work in Greenfield and tell everyone I know that this kid needs to be a Hoosier and many have said only if he likes losing or something along those lines.

Only in person encounter with Crean I ever had, he stopped what he.was doing (walking into Dicks in Bloomington) to talk to me. Told him I was happy he offered Hulls, we were in the same grade and I couldn't guard Jordy a lick lol.

I brought up the antics comment, which you addressed, because I never understood the complaints about mannerisms, but we can stay away from that topic since that stay away from that discussion in this thread.

me either I just know lots on here do and I chose a poor word to appease the masses lol. 1st encounter with him our boys were 10 and he was standing in the rain with an Eagles coat on standing along the left field line. His son played left for Smithville and my son played left that day for the Blazers. I introduced myself we talked for the whole game exchanged numbers he signed a diaper bag for Ayden who was 8 months old at the time and was above and beyond nice to me and my family.

Several years prior When I was at South Decatur I emailed him and he was still at Marquette. He sent me the whole Marquette play book and an entire folder of shooting drills for mid range and closer shots. Maybe that helped DWADE along the way. I text him once that I needed a new OB under against zone to try and steal 2 pts a game he sent my 100 plays against Man another 100 for Zone and several DVDs of them from practice. I better not say too much because that why I ticked people off when I said I was not an Archie fan and they just thought it was sour grapes because I had been spoiled by Crean and Archie turned me down lol

    What antics!?! Clapping!?!

Wrong word not antics quirkiness maybe. And how others on the outside viewed him. I promise I would take him back in a second.  Not gonna bash Crean he gave me his cell number to discuss coaching as well as our son's travel baseball teams and he always answered if I had a question or comment. Never talked about Indiana basketball just my teams and mostly about our boys playing baseball.

  9. I was taught if you have nothing nice to say then don't say anything, unfortunately I am a slow learner. Before anyone says where was he after OSU game. I was at the Colts game having a great time with my family.

I made reference to it after Nebraska about smart play and hard play and some disagreed with that  assessment but I stand behind it. This team might be the dumbest basketball group I have seen on the court ever at IU. Sampsons guys might not be book smart might have been druggies, criminals  etc... but had some basketball knowledge this group not a lick. Not since a 3rd grade game at the YMCA had I seen a player dribble pick up ball then dribble again until Walker last night. He shocked the ref and I just about fell off the couch. That was right after throwing a perfect pass into the back of a Rutgers player that led to a layup the other way. You cannot get outrebounded the way they did last night  and say that anyone is playing hard or smart.

The only differences that I see between the product that Archie put on the floor and what Woodson has on the floor now are:

    1. The number of stars next to the players name is greater now.

    2. Archies pack line defense gave up tons of wide open shots by design we just give them away now like door prizes.

10 years from now or maybe sooner well hell maybe even now. Coach Tom Crean is going to look like a genius and a hall of famer while at IU in comparison to everyone else. I could live with losing and the antics of Crean to watch those teams. I need a bottle of pepto some strong alcohol if a were a drinker and some type of speed if i did drugs to be able to watch this team game in an out. Boring unfundamental basketball at its best.  If you want to have fun watching college basketball and stay in state the product on the floor at ISU is much more entertaining. Not sure how but somehow they found players that can not only shoot but make shots and they play fairly smart.  Last night I watched until the under 12 timeout of the second half and in that time I saw more air ball 3's shot than 3's made by Indiana. It truly is hard to shoot an airball or at least for me it was.

  10. My 2 cents, like many long time IU fans we would love to see many things out of our program but 2 things that I want more than any other are players that play hard and play smart. Unfortunately I can say this group of players do neither on a consistent basis in my humble opinion. They make it hard to watch and even more difficult to enjoy

Yeah, great win for the Pacers. That's a building block win for a young squad given that it was a quasi playoff atmosphere.

Haliburton is great. I think Tatum will be OK though, he did get November Player of the Month today.

Not taking the time to look up his numbers but not sure Tatum was more deserving than Haliburton for player of the Month.

Haliburton numbers he joins Michael and LeBron as only to have those for an entire month and if you add in FT percent of 88% he stands alone.

    ▪️ 28.6 PPG
    ▪️ 11.7 APG
    ▪️ 53.2 FG%
    ▪️ 46.7 3P%

  12. I will not get rich off of this little haul but I bought a box of about 700 cards sight unseen at an auction for $10 mostly baseball but here are a few of the nice surprises that we found. Of course the 89 Upper Deck Jr is the highlight but I think its safe to say that I got more than my moneys worth out of it.

Met him on spring break when he was still in college, oddly enough.

It was his SR year... he told me he was the Fullback for McFadden and Felix Jones... and said he was getting ready for the NFL draft. He was a really nice guy.

What do you think the magic number Irsay has to show him to get a resounding yes!!??
