  1. Trying that slip pass when he should just go to the hole. He is faster than his defender
  2. Kopp a bit snow footed. Needs to stay in front of his guy
  3. That is still allot of old connections that are not necessarily relevant to the last couple generations. It does help and don't' get me wrong, glad to have him/them back in the fold. But the last couple generations are not the same as us. Don't have the same nostalgia and they need to be treated differently. Old school this and that isn't always going to cut it. Need to find a way for all connections, we will eventually die off and then what will we be left with?
  4. I don't completely disagree but when you have been bad for as long as we have, Bob Knight in his 80's isn't going to be what draws the campus and surrounding youngsters to an event. I used the hip hop artist as an example. There are alot of things that can be done that i don't think IU has tapped into yet. But yes, winning does cure allot of things. But you still need to reach more than one demographic when having events.
  5. Bob Knight isn't a draw for most of the last couple generations of fan. You want to know why Kentucky and Duke have sold out events. They spend money and get what matters to the current students and recent graduates and fans. And honestly, that isn't 80 something year old Bob Knight. Its Drake, Travis Scott, or any of the other popular artist. We need to up our game and get current. The big boosters are going to give their money on the back end, to fill seats, you need to do what current generations want and need to be engaged. Just my thoughts. I am in the generation who watched the 87 championship so i am a Bob Knight fan.
  6. TJD ROB X Race Kopp I think Robs get the nod to start the season as the 2 guard
  7. I honestly think being counted in the top 20 after the last 5 years IU has had is encouraging. I am still holing my optimism until i see what we put on the floor. Once we get a few games under us. I want to be excited again, but i will wait. Happy we're nationally talked about again. Never hurts recruiting.
  8. I know, just may me laugh a bit, jumping over here and seeing the same things.
  9. Not being an ass here, but its funny to watch the football fans complain about the exact same thing the basketball board does. The refs are out to get us. We have so many injuries we can't compete We're in the toughest conference/division We have no depth at [insert Position] Our coaches are in over their head or don't make good calls/adjustments.
  10. I mean, would his name and coaching prowess be enough? Or did being at LSU and then Alabama (SEC) help make him the coach he is today. Also, can indiana actually be a big time football school?
  11. Do you think if IU hired Nick Saban starting next year, we could become a Powerhouse in the BIG? I don't know. I honestly think we just can't. What are you guys thoughts?
  12. how did we score in the first qtr. Try doing that again
  13. honestly i didn't read this. Way to much for my brain at this time of the morning. Suffice to say, you know or care way more than i do about digging into how the tax system works so i will bow out of this discussion. Have a good day
  14. Of course i am joking but there is some truth to what i say. Such as amazon only paying 9% tax rate instead of their 21% for corporates. There are always ways for the rich to offset taxes, whether its individual or corporate. https://itep.org/amazon-has-record-breaking-profits-in-2020-avoids-2-3-billion-in-federal-income-taxes/
  15. Nah. Being rich has its advantages. Like paying high dollar consultants to ensure you never actually pay taxes or get audited. Its how the rich stay rich and the poor stay poor
  16. Going back to what other have said, we have to win close games. That will push us up toward the top. Win those games where you need to defend the lead or push a close game to the end and hit the shot that's needed. Have the confidence to move down the floor and take the shot by someone. Hit or miss, the attitude and confidence to put it all on the floor and walk away win or lose ready to take the same shot again the next night. Kopp, X, or Rob. I do find it interesting that almost no one ever talk about Parker. Maybe it was his lackluster performance in the exhibition but i don't have a good feel on him.
  17. I never ridiculed anyone. I stated my opinion on what i thought about blindly supporting anyone. Not once did i make fun of or ridicule a group or specific person. I stated how "I" can not do that myself. And yes i know you were in that group who supported him to the day he was fired. But i didn't call you out, like you have me, or anyone else in that group. I made a blanket statement about how I can't see how anyone can do that and can't do that "myself". If you're offended by that, then that is on you. You're the one who has made this personal toward me. You attacked me and called me a hypocrite and called me out. This seems to be your issue and not mine. I didn't make a 6 paragraph statement, while searching for a post by you, to use as my case against you. But i am done with this discussion with you. Please let it go. I plan to.
  18. Wow, I wasn't targeting you with this comment. There were multiple posters on here who were die hard to the bitter supporters of whomever our coach is. I stated that i didn't understand how people can do that. I didn't point you out specifically and i didn't go back and find a specific post that called you out for what you think. I stated and i quote "Blindly supporting someone because of the position they hold is so foreign to me that I can't understand how people do it." This happens not only for coaches of team, but political leaders and many other instances. This is your issue, not mine. Not once in the comment did i mention anyone specific. If you immediately went to i was targeting you, well that isn't me, that's you.
  19. He was bad for IU. 4 years of really bad. Historically bad. And the further away we get from him, the more evident it becomes. Looking back on people who were die hard to the very bitter end supporters of him still boggles my mind. Blindly supporting someone because of the position they hold is so foreign to me that I can't understand how people do it.
  20. we just don't know anything yet. The exhibition didn't really give us anything. X and Stewart both didn't show much. Bates could be an X factor. TJD will be able the same i think. Race, well i am not sure there. And Kopp could or could not find his shot again. I like the team and the coach, something i haven't said in a long time. But i am not digging out my crimson glasses and putting them on any longer. Being a realist here. I don't think we're going to be terrible or fantastic this year. So 5 to 7 is an improvement year one over the last 5 years. I will take that this year
