  1. That makes no difference when the negative side only wants to hear their own voice. Let's face it. Nothing said here is going to change anyone's mind, so why keep repeating yourself?
  2. These announcers do have a habit of over-reacting, don't they? Within seconds you hear "The Bucks are on the ropes" and then "Here come the Bucks, they aren't dead yet". My big take away from the game is, where has this defensive effort been hiding? Very impressive.
  3. Thanks guys. Like so many other things, it turns out the simplest answer was the correct one.
  4. Pardon my ignorance, but what does TBT stand for? It looks like teams of past players being put together for each Big Ten school, but what does the acronym stand for?
  5. I think using Johnson as a comparison is setting the bar pretty low.
  6. Looks like all the hopefuls who didn't make the cut to join Parliament-Funkadelic.
  7. We all know that the last person to see the light turn green is always in the first car in line.
  8. She has a heck of a long way to go to match the talent of either Elvis or The Beatles. What she has is one heck of a PR team.
  9. A couple thoughts, most of which have nothing to do with the game. I laughed during the last time out, when the camera showed Carlisle giving instructions to the team, and Jenny gave him a look like "You want them to do what?" I'm sure that isn't what was actually happening, but the visual was funny. Hubie Brown. Had not heard him in a long time. I mean years. I wasn't even sure he was still alive. The last time I heard him, I thought he might have gotten a bit senile, but last night he was excellent. 90 years old and still doing the job. That was so good to hear. Very rarely watch ESPN and find most of their people to be loud, annoying and sometimes just plain old stupid. They could all learn a lot from a guy like Hubie.
  10. You would be wrong about that. I was not suggesting any single comment was out of line. Rather, I was suggesting that when a video or whatever sparks this sort of debate, it might be better to do a Copy/Paste of it to the appropriate sub-forum. Then folks could freely debate their thoughts. That's all.
  11. Oddly enough, I thought the discussion in this forum was supposed to be "Portal/Late Decommits IU Is Interested In" So perhaps it is the "conversation" that is out of place?
  12. I don't know about Nix, but I can see it for Penix. Atlanta has their veteran QB (Cousins) under contract for a few more years. That gives Penix time to sit and watch, listen, learn and absorb all he can from a solid starter. I think that is a benefit for him and the team both down the road.
  13. I don't tweet. I don't beep. I don't even chirp. I have been known to toot on occasion. Mostly after a few brews.
  14. Have you noticed there is always a "With that being said" disclaimer on all these announcements?
  15. I hated that movie, but it does open up a lot of good jokes.
  16. You also always have the times when Mother Nature and Old Man Winter get into domestic spats. That can get ugly.
  17. I don't feel sorry for them, but I don't want to laugh at them too hard either. With the collection of talent we are gathering, I think the chance of us losing players in the next couple years has gone up by a good amount. They don't stick around one place for long anymore.
  18. Good timing, since my power just came back on after going off last night in the storm. Off from 10pm until 9am. Odd twist.....My power company is Duke energy. Maybe it is a sign?
  19. Wasn't that the worst estimate in the entire article? Some of the other estimates were for much fewer uses. I have a couple re-usable bags that I make a point of taking with me whenever I go to town. Very handy and can hold a lot. I always use the self-checkout lines at grocery stores and get some interesting looks from people when I pull these out.
  20. Couple of things I don't understand about your post. 1. What form would "shutting it down" take? Are you just saying to tell them to "move along"? Move along to where? 2. Sending away "non Monroe County folk". To where are you going to send them? Regardless of the "where" part, how does that solve or improve anything? It starts to sound like a "not in my back yard" sort of thing. Sorry if that isn't what you mean. Honestly, I'm totally stumped as to what can be done to help solve the problems and not just hide them or make them someone else's problem. Wish I was smart enough to figure out better answers.
