Why the harsh comments on this dude(I am not even gonna attempt to spell his name) I wish IU had players that play with half the passion he plays with.  IU plays like Armond Hill on the sidelines, very little interest.

    Agree, BDB…..

I know this a free board and opinions are well, opinions,…..but man you can really tell the character of some of these guys on here by their carefree, bold comments about players.

I will be honest, I couldn’t stand watching Tominaga’s cocky play as he sliced up every IU defender. Though I don’t care for that kind of showboating after he scores, however, the most impressive thing about him was he could back it up.

If he was wore an IU jersey I would welcome him with open arms. He plays with heart, passion and toughness, something we need a lot of.

What are you talking about? So I can't trash talk an opposing player but it's ok to bash our own team, players, and coaches ad nauseam 24/7? Like give me a break. It was a joke. That dude was annoying.

Agree.  A point guard who can keep the ball in front of him on D can really set the whole defense.  Yes, shooting is an issue but, man, our defense was worse.  Didn’t we give up close to 90 to Wisconsin?  That needs corrected.

The other issue is basketball IQ.  For a tradition like ours, we need to really upgrade that as well.   IMO

I've seen enough of this bs to last the rest of my IU fandom. Please for the love of god get someone to lock down dudes lighting us up, running around the court showboating.

From what I’ve seen it looks like Tucker is more athletic, with a mid-range game, and McNeeley is more of threat from 3. Pretty much an even swap.

I think Tucker will a better defender. So I still think Tucker will be the better player. Just my two cents.

Me neither.  Unless I'm missing something, Bryson Tucker appears to be just as good a signee.  Need more numbers, but that swap doesn't appear to damage IU's prospects.

Agreed. We don't get Tucker most likely with McNeely and I actually think Tucker has more upside as an "all around" player. But either way, it is lame to see him go to Michigan.

MR would have to improve from the outside for that to work well offensively imo.

Feels like Williams would be able to replace Ware’s production on the boards and defensively - maybe a small step up defensively. But he’d be a step back on offense, and would cause even worse spacing problems since Ware could shoot well from 3. Feels like that’d be leaning in even more to the 2 post sets which I’m not a fan of.

I think we're all a bit myopic on the style of play subject. I get that it's not ideal, but our best players have been inside guys, so you have to play them. We need shooting, no doubt but we need another inside guy too. At this point we have zero defense underneath. Hopefully we get a more well rounded roster, but we were bound to get at least one inside guy.

I would tend think the same thing, most of top players would more than likely transfer to SLU or as a group stay together at ISU. I think wishful thinking on all you thinking Conway would want to come to IU. Maybe if they threw a ton of NIL $ and he really wanted to go to IU out of high school. I’m skeptical. I’d welcome him gladly but don’t see it

Yeah, not sure I would be pinning my hopes on Conway. Until he's in the portal and setup a visit, this is purely a pipe dream.

I agree and hope Lewis feels that way too.

Issue now is NIL and how important that is to him.  I doubt we would be the highest bidder.

That is definitely going to play a big part and I don't blame kids for taking the most $$ especially in football where injuries are a huge concern and the lack of any sort of legitimate league (income) outside of the NFL.

And there's the big we need.  Defensive oriented, can crash the boards on both ends.  Him, Reneau, MM and two sharpshooting guards.

Yep. Mentioned in the other posts, he's a three time DOPY in his conference. They get him, a defensive-hard nose-good PG, and some shooting and I think we're cookin'. This isn't rocket science we need to get guys that fit NEEDS and besides the overly mentioned shooting, DEFENSE is what was desperately missing.

I'm guessing the Trojan Blade post is referencing what Tom Loy said back in February rather than something recent.

I believe so. But you never know these days what kids are thinking. IMO the relationship with the coach(es) is more important than the school. You can play anywhere and get noticed or drafted high. Look at North Carolina.

I listened to Doyle on the radio today and he was at the ISU game last night. He had heard that most of the top players would go to SLU with the coach. I don't think Doyle knows that much and is a hack.

Would it be that surprising though? If they get better NIL and already know from day one their teammates and roles, I wouldn't blame them.

added a key word there.  Slashers that can still improve on their 3pt shooting % AND defend.

I added my key word. Many times the opposing teams PG is the leader of the team (and an upperclassman) so it's imperative whomever we bring in is a good/great defender. Getting torched on defense was the biggest issue with our guard play, then the lack of shooting.
