You think that’s why this collapse happened?  Seriously?  We were outplayed in every phase of the game.

What in the hell are you talking about? Where did I say that's why the collapse happened?

It's hard to make up a 15 point deficit without 3 point shots, like my post was implying. Where in the hell did I imply we played better than Auburn?

That really isn't informative. We understand it's a different school, literally, than Elon and JMU.

Right. When a baseball player is raking in Triple A, we don't say he can't and won't be successful in the big leagues because he's never done it there. Typically, playing extremely well in Triple A means you have the tools and talent to succeed at the next level. Obviously isn't ALWAYS the case, but playing well (and coaching well) usually means you have the traits and qualities to succeed at the next level.

Hard to believe all these CTA kids have already been properly evaluated already. Cig is starting to come off as an arrogant blow hard who’s plan is to tear this program down to the ground because nothing and no one can build a program like he can. This isn’t Elon and he didn’t build anything at JMU, he inherited it. I get how some are attracted to his no nonsense, cocky approach but he isn’t Saban and this aint Alabama.

Hopefully, I’m reading the situation wrong but losing half the team and recruits while offering a bunch of JMU guys was not the start I was hoping for

    - I'm sure Cig and staff HAVE evaluated them as much as he needed. For starters, this team wasn't very good. Hence, their record. He knows after watching some film who is worthy and who isn't. Hell, we evaluate who's good and bad as fans by only watching 2-3 hours a week. After a few weeks, we know where the weaknesses are and who's got potentially. You think Cig CANT do that? He also retained some coaches. Think they have some input?

    - coming off as arrogant? Based on what? He better tear down this program and rebuild to his liking! He's been paid to lead this program. Why shouldn't he build the program to his liking? In 4 years, if we still sucks, would you be good if he gives the excuse of "well, this still isn't MY program. I had to keep some guys on the team to appear a nice guy".

    - YOU realize in his first season at JMU, they had a 7 game improvement, right?

    - I would take JMUs current team over ours. Period. So I'm good with him bringing his guys.

Alan Soukup, a former IU/CTA commit appears to be frustrated about his previous scholarship offer and the new IU coaching staff..... I suspect this has happened a lot and will continue. I mean,....this really reminds me of what Coach Prime did pre-season at Colorado. Oh, well. Gotta get his type of guys.

Coaches are paid to win games. Period. If they feel they can't win with certain players? Gone. Just the way it is. Coaches don't get extra leash or points for pity.

Sure glad I'm going against Dak in 3 leagues this week. Darn it. Also any Mostert owners out there? With Achane coming back this week you still rolling with Mostert as RB1 vs Commanders Rush Defense?

I also have no other option. Bye week destroyed my depth. 3 questionables.

Gruden isn't coaching in the NFL because he talked **** about Goodell in his e-mails. Thats it. He made one comment about 15 years ago in a private e-mail that was spun to sound racist. I don't really think he is or he wouldn't be in that profession. He got railroaded. Pat Fitzgerald was allowing players to play naked patty cake with their freshman incomers.

    Yep

If there are actually legs to this….

Gruden has to be chomping at the bit to be coaching again, especially the chance to compete in the BIGTEN.

The news that IUFB got a major NIL boost is interesting. Especially the timing.

A guy like Gruden isn't walking into a program/administration that only has one fit in its football program. A guy like that will want guarantees up front.

Candle has been my #1 for a long time. Terrific offensive mind who has been successful his entire tenure as OC and HC at Toledo, often having top offenses nationally. His players seem to love him, and he’s been a successful recruiter in the MAC, bringing in top classes in the conference routinely. I think he’s a potential future star in CFB, and I honestly didn’t think he’d leave for IU so very excited to hear he’s entertaining the opening. I think he’s a home run.

I'm in this camp too. If we "settle" for Candle, I'll be fine with that

Bad beat or just the Allen stuff?

In terms of our league on here I'll just say this. @ephulphenomenal score again. I've been in leagues for 25 years. Only once that I can remember where I see the scoring differential from your team to rest of league. Shoot I think I have a pretty good team and you have me clear by 250 on the season. Awesome job!

Dumb luck. Most guys I have are having WAY better years than anticipated. Swift, Mostert, Keenan Allen, and Pittman have exceeded all expectations.

Minshew definitely helped Pittman's stats. I almost picked Jeff Wilson over Mostert. And I thought Swift would share touches WAY more. I thought Keenan Allen would be a solid 12 points. He's constantly going for 30-40.
