  1. My goodness, Caleb Williams at USC is the best QB I've watched this year.

Cannon for an arm, throws darts on the run, elusive, and insane speed and agility on the run.

Honestly reminds me of Josh Allen. If I'm a piss poor NFL franchise next year (looking at you Colts), I'm doing whatever I have to do to get this kid. Is Curtis Painter still around?

Maybe Bill Mallory put a curse on the program after he was fired. We fired the only coach that had any sustain success because we thought the grass was greener on the other side.

Sound familiar? Seems as though IU did the same thing on the basketball side.

Someone said earlier that something is "systematically wrong". They'd be correct. Indiana has screwed up hires time after time, decade after decade. They can't get out of their own way.

  3. Was at the game. Was VERY impressed/surprised by Duncomb, especially his stint in the first half.

I expected him to get lost from time to time, miss helping on D, etc. He seemed like everything came together on D for him. He was always in the right spot at the right time.

Would love to see more of him. Maybe he will get Durr type of minutes. A lot in spots, none in others. But he looked like he belonged out there last night.

TDH has an article on MSt and at the end there is a ranking for "tempo". Moorehead is ranked 301 in tempo. Sounds like they are very...lets say "deliberate".

Could be an interesting test for our defense. Maybe a precurser for Wisky?

If that's the case, seems like a pretty high O/U for all the bettors out there

Already have those type players. Shooting is a higher priority.

The only person remotely close to being that type of player is Geronimo.

I agree. Shooting is a priority. But when people are talking of a 5 man class, a kid like Carr would fit right in.

This is the first time that I have seen Cupps. I appreciate how he plays within himself. Has a good understanding of the game on both ends. And it seems he is looked to as a leader on the floor.

And for the record, I really like Reed Shepherd. 😬

I thought the same thing regarding Sheppard. A very smart player.

Cupps plays like Hulls. Just has a swag to his game. Head is always up with the ball.

Don’t think I’d say best ever but he’s certainly toward the top of the list IMO. He’s freakishly athletic.

I think his athleticism is somewhat underrated because his "athleticism" is moreso agility. His athleticism is moreso on display in terms of reverse layups, fade away jumpers (hanging in the air) and things of that nature.

Sort of like an MJ vs LeBron thing. Michael Jordan was a freak athlete, but people would moreso say LeBron is more athletic due to his athleticism is displayed by jumping over people, running people down and blocking shots well above the rim, etc. And he has freakish size. MJ was so agile, and used it getting sky hot on jumpers, fading right to left, etc.

The #28th ranked FR in the country was Bryce McGowens this past recruiting class...(Malik's ranking).

The one before that... Walker Kessler. Before that? TJD. 2018= Jahnon Quinerly-- transfered as a FR.. played well the last two years.

Personally, I think its pretty darn good odds, that one of JHS or MR are a flat out stud.

I think Schifino, just for the fact that we have a need at that position/skill set.

If Reneau comes in and gives Trayce and Race a good breather, holds his own and isn't a liability defensively, and has 6-8 points and 4 rebounds, I'll be satisfied.

Well for him specifically I don't think he'll start because of Race, but if he did I'd expect him to be capable of what all the other 5 star bigs we've had in the past decade.

But what does that mean? Put a number to it.

    Are you saying 12/6? 8/4?

I don't quite get this take. Sure, as a fan base we have overhyped guys before (who hasn't?) but generally guys ranked and high as Reneau and JHS come in and are impact players Day 1.

And before anyone points out Bates or Lander, they weren’t rated as high as MR or JHS.

    The media overhypes people period.

    Define "impact player Day 1".

Over the years, I've heard enough talk. I'll believe it when I see it. When Race has a microphone in his face, not much he can say.

Hey, I hope he truly is Big Ten ready. That would be incredible. Seems like a great kid that just wants to win. Having some insurance behind Trayce and Race is only going to allow them to play more aggressive. And give them fresh legs. That'd be fantastic.

With the NIL, I just don't see him leaving after 2 years, one being playing behind an All Conference and a 5th year Senior in Trayce and Race. I'll also add that, if he was planning on going pro ASAP, I think he would've went somewhere with less competition in front of him.

He's not uber athletic or quick. I just don't think he's a top prospect for the NBA. Those 5 star kids get drafted because they are freak athletics and have so much potential.

Could not agree more.  Not even close to TJD in athleticism but had nice feet and hands.

if he is “that good” he’ll show it in short bursts and nba scouts will be all over him

Might be IU version of TW50 at Purdue….great college player who doesn’t fit in todays nba

I certainly could see that. I'd say with his size and build, he's probably a little more suited for the NBA, but as far as skillset, I think that's a great comparison.

5 star kids usually dont stay 3 or 4 years anymore. He will get plenty of mins. this year, i think the kid is that good. he is about the same size Trace was as a freshmen but a better shooter. I watched a lot of their games and he was always the best player on the court.

I'm not saying he won't be a good player, or isn't already. He just doesn't have that super high ceiling. Hell, everyone thought Trayce would be gone after a year.

I could see Reneau being like that guard out of Villanova a few years ago. Got drafted late as a senior. Did nothing but win. Just solid all around. Nothing flashy, not overly athletic. Just a damn good ball player. Unfortunately, the NBA wants their 1st rounders to have crazy potential.

Look at a kid like Booker. Shoots the 3, handles pretty decent, crazy long, etc. That's the kid the NBA wants with their 1st round pick. Would Booker be a better NBA player? Who knows. But the risk is probably worth the reward with a kid like Booker.

There will be enough mins for both with Race and Trace gone and Malik Reneau likely a 2 and gone.

I'm not sure what would make Reneau a 2 and gone.

He's going to fight for minutes this year. Expecting him to come out as a sophomore and be NBA ready would be expecting a lot.

Unless he's just adamant about going pro, expecting him to be THAT good is a lofty expectation
